I hear the Coca Cola Co makes Dr. Pepper out of it! ;-)
Seriously, though, you gotta scrape that out as you’re gonna want to sanitize your bucket with each new batch.

I used to brew lager when I was a student…it’s certainly a cheap way to get pissed but I wouldn’t exactly call it a quality beverage…
Hmm. That’s odd. The stuff we made was really good. But eating/drinking the sediment chunk wasn’t anything that ever crossed my mind! :-D
Yeah, if I’d made my own vodka (my def drink of choice nowadays), I’d be afraid to try it as well and would probably end up using it to thin paint or start my car on a cold winter day.

Re: Brewing Alcohol at Home in Chit-Chat
Did this back in the 90’s as it was something of a fad in the States back then. It’s actually quite easy and economical, but as gimme correctly recollects it can take about 3-4 weeks to make 5 gallons (about 19 litres) of ale or lager. What’s cool is that you can make it as simple (like making a giant vat of soup) or as complex (measuring liquid densities, baking extra grains for your mort, etc) as you like. Would recommend getting a copy of The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charles Papazian as a starting point. Cheers!

In the States, there is a saying: “shoulda, coulda, woulda…” But it is only spoken and used when mrs h isn’t in earshot. :)

Fuck!! I just heard the Violent Femme’s “Blister in the Sun” on the radio and now that whiny, annoying chorus is stuck in my head. I know this song is beloved by many, but I fucking hate it and can’t stop humming its retardedness!! Lemee go on…Aaarrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh!!!!

Ever seen Wolf Creek? That dude makes dungarees (overalls) look damn scary. Okay, okay, back on topic: Countdown. Er, I’m afraid I don’t know what that is either. :-S

Didn’t even know what they were until hooch posted the ^^^^ link. I think my dear, late Nana used to call Levi’s jeans dungarees, but what did she know, she was born in New Hampshire! Can’t remember what they were wearing in Deliverance either, but if we’re talking about the same scenes, then it probably wasn’t very much. ;-)

Agreed about The Mist’s ending. Total downer. Just watched the American version of Funny Games. Jesus. Uneven, but grim, grim, grim. Just put the original German version on my Netflix. Guess I must like to feel like shit! :-D

Gotta agree about Dexter Season 2 being a vast improvement over the first season, which was pretty damn good as well. Michael C. Hall was darkly funny and creepier than in the first, and imho Jaime Murray is hot as hell! Season 3 in the fall…
