Yep. Where OCFA sounded over-polished and indistinct, everything is clear and distinguished.

That retro single download idea is good, but imagine the amount of shite involved in licensing that much material from Universal.

Well, I got the review copy regardless, and have sent the review to my editor: should be up in the next few days.
MY GOD! What an album :D Worth every penny upon release, and probably your firstborn for Clowns Galore alone. This is up there with SP-YF and Troublegum.

Got the review copy today after much back-and-forth with the press department regarding allegedly posing as a journo… Regardless, I love it to bits and a review is forthcoming!

We’ve (we being Acheron Promotions) been trying for years to get them into Cork. Fingers crossed with this tour we can bring them to Cyprus Ave!

Cleared up the misunderstanding with the press department. Allowed keep the review copy after all, review due next week on http://www.drop-d.ie!
Judging from what we heard on MySpace and on the taster vid, I can honestly say, this is gonna be good :)

Out on a Limb… Only have stuff by Rest or Giveamanakick, have yet to review them, and it may be a bit late to get the review for GAMAK’s latest. Which I enjoyed immensely, though the first album always has a place in my heart. :-)

That too. :-)
P.S.: If anyone, ANYONE AT ALL, wants to take that Chiodos album off my hands, please, by all means. :-D

The record labels complain about declining sales and then foist shite like that upon us. And they wonder why they’re going to Hell.
The effort they put into these plastic pop posers should be going into honest-to-God, good old-fashioned music.
Actually, just reading the post now, it does seem as though I’m posing as a journo. :-)
My bad: “In my guise” was not the best choice of words by a country mile…
The lesson is I’m no longer young enough to be an enthusiastic fanboy now, I’m a writer, and should conduct myself as such.

They don’t even have that anymore! Just mounds of Death Magnetic.
And very cheap T-shirts, mwahahahahah…

Yeah, guess I’ll just put this one down to inexperience.
To Mikehell, if he’s reading: Sorry man, I meant absolutely no disrespect. I shall wait with bated breath until March 23rd. (Best 21st-birthday present ever, by the way! :-))
By way of curiosity, anyone reading this, please check out my articles and let me know what you think.

Actually, of all places, I found an Isis single in Zavvi, Cork!
So that’s what leads me to believe it could be feasible.
Posted on Wed, 18 February 2009 at 13:36
Re: Crooked Timber B-Sides in General Therapy? Topics
Zavvi stocks CD singles, that’s also dead.
There is nowhere that sells CD singles in a prominent way, say in chart formation, anymore, so it’s a hard one.
Would a limited-edition release be counted by ChartTrack et al?

:-)
I don’t. My copy hasn’t arrived yet and I’m to return the review copy as soon as I get it.
The MySpace page is streaming the full version of The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself and it is a belter, by my reckoning, it should be a single or E.P. lead track.

Re: New album “Crooked Timber” 23 March 2009 in General Therapy? Topics
Hello WoMbles,
For having posted confirmation of receiving a copy of Crooked Timber on here, I have been asked to return my copy.
I realise in my last post on this thread, I came off as something of a blagger, but I would like to state that I intended no wrongdoing whatsoever, and had absolutely NO intention of harming the band that I have loved and identified with for as long as I can remember, and whose music has soundtracked many intensely personal moments of my life.
Furthermore, to confirm that I actually do write for http://www.drop-d.ie, here are links to articles I have written:
Chiodos review: http://www.drop-d.ie/article.php?article_id=868
For Ruin interview: http://www.drop-d.ie/article.php?article_id=858
I’ll Eat Your Face interview: http://www.drop-d.ie/article.php?article_id=851
I’d like to apologise to the press department at Global Music for any misunderstanding that may have occurred, and to the other WoMbles, and the boys themselves.
Mike McGrath-Bryan

Thing is, look at CD Singles. Do you see very many? They’re a great promo, but how many shops are going to stock them at this juncture. Digital sucks, but it’s the only real way around it.

They bloody well should, this might lead to a Edge-HHH with Steph and Vickie in their corners. Then again, who wants to see that?

The band mentioned recording B-Side material during the sessions for Crooked Timber. Interestingly, Enjoy the Struggle is slated for a single release, so chances are good. :)
