Re: “Living In The Shadow…” video coming tomorrow! in General Therapy? Topics
When I first hear the live version of this song, I thought it was a great homage to Therapy?’s roots - which salute the music scene that evolve with the ghosts of Jesus Lizard and Fugazi. Well, I couldn’t be so wrong. OK; there’s a homage but honestly; It’s nothing to do with other bands that define the sound of T? Actually, Living in The Shadow… is only about Therapy? and what this band is about. You can feel Nurse, Troublegum, High Anxiety and Crooked Timber out there. This is pure Therapy? at the highest degree. Terrific stuff.

Re: Best of Lists…2011 in Chit-Chat
2011 was one of the better year for rock, if not the best after 90’s. Even movies are good after the ill fated decade. I have a high hope for 2012, I wish -Peace, Love And Understanding-for all of us. Here’s my list:
1-) Machine Head - Unto The Locust
2-) Crazy Arm - Union City Breath
3-) Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
4-) Spycatcher - Honesty
5-) The King Blues - Punk & Poetry
6-) The Horrible Crowes - Elsie
7-) Kesmeşeker - Doğdum Ben Memlekette
8-) Mastadon - The Hunter
9-) Frank Turner - England Keep My Bones
10-) Fucked Up - David Comes To Life
What I’m stoked for in 2012…
* Against Me!
* The Menzingers
* Off With Their Heads
* Therapy?
* The Gaslight Anthem
* Sharks
* Craig Finn

Re: New interview, news about the 2011 album in General Therapy? Topics
Informative interview. It’s kind a right step to release single at the beginning of 2012. Tight and focused…Also they mention the name of some songs, so there’s a possibility we will see track list and maybe some minor details posted at the end of this month. Keep watching this space!

All that talk of The Hold Steady had me dig up Lifter Puller - Fiestas and Fiascos CD.
Excellent for a Friday afternoon just before finishing work.
I think all the Lifter Puller records are out of print and I’m not a fan of ebay.

Have that one in the car and play it on a regular basis , although I do prefer ‘Boys And Girls In America’ as a whole.
Stay Positive goes a bit flat after the first 2 tracks imo , but as I only have a 10 minute drive into work I usually don’t make it past those 2 anyway.
Stay Positive is my favorite. I mean, I always like “Almost Killed Me” it has got that magic which re-create Beat Generation patterns to reach unsung stories of the İnternet generation. But Stay Positive is the grower. Yeah Sapphire, Joke About Jamaica and Slapped Actrees are the high points and probably their best. And B-Sides cool too, especially “Ask Her for Some Adderall”.
Here’s the game changer live version of the S/T song. You can’t beat it.

Re: Re-Releases, Cd industry. in Other Bands & Artists
I’m a big fan of CD’s and always try to buy Delux one (Special Edition) at the beginning. But you know, there will be another special special edition take place after six month later of the proper release. And don’t forget 25th edition or even 30th edition discs (London Calling 25th edition far better than 30th, ironic right?) and it goes on like this. I have got two “British Steel”, two “Goddamnit”, two “Crooked Timber” two…

It starts very good… then it starts to fall apart. But you never see the ground. It’s mature, bold and sometimes exciting. Sadly not addictive enough.

Wouldn’t call it the Worst Album of 2011 but it is very mediocre. Like waiting for something to happen that just doesn’t come.
I played the new Magazine album ( No Thyself ) right after it and it is just so much better it’s unreal. Now there’s a contender for Best Album of 2011 !
“Worst album of” subject is kind a expended topic. I mean you have every kind of technical support, guitars, amps, etc… and lot of money to create a sound or image, a word that you want/wish. In the other hand there’s a band whose limited sources going nowhere, miserable day job, day late and dollar short situation bring the white noise. I kinda respect that. There’s a passion but no time, money or talent. So it’s considerable. I can safely say who haven’t listen this album yet…believe the anti-hype. This could be the worst album ever made by any music genre. We need more time and a new perspective to decide that.

Re: Metallica & Lou Reed in Other Bands & Artists
It sounds like a soundtrack of a dream that built by a lonely teenager whose dreams fills with nude step mother and goat-head biology teacher. But you know, it could be worse. It could be about German playwright Frank Wedekind’s wet dreams or something like that.

I don’t think anyone life is complete without listening “Lulu”. It’s a kind a cosmic joke. It’s not the worse album ever made but probably worse of 2011. But if you consider yourself a music fan, you have to listen this. Simple like that.

Cheers looking forward to the tour as well next year then…
They’ve planned 10 tracks. With single b-sides i guess there will be fourteen. I’m not sure though.

I’ve never liked this band; sounds too generic and safe for my taste but their latest album (Wasting Light) is almost classic.

I have got Quiet Earth too. Part of it Death Magnetic beater with killer riff after riff after motherfucking riff. Overally it’s good but not rich or adventurous as it should be.

I have been there. Somehow lost connection pre Suicide Pact term and when i checked the recordstore, i saw it. Give my last money and walk more than 5 KM under the rain (weak one) to home. I think internet likes religion; it kills the suprise factor, mystery within life. Too baD.

On the booklet of So much for the ten year plan is a small picture of a tracklist. It must be from the SD sessions. Some of the titles are unreleased:
3. more than perfect
4. dark days coming
5. bye bye buddy
6. church of noise
7. nobody here but us
8. the boys asleep
9. something to kill for
10. tightrope walker
11. hang on
12. black eyed purple sky
13. don’t expect roses
14. straight life
15. armaggedon checklist
16. ????? ?????
17. husker duy song
18. cello song
I can’t read number 16.
It would be great if they’d release this songs.
This is a kind of “working title” list. T? usually use working titles for songs even albums at the early stages. All of these songs, except Hüsker Dü cover (Probably; Don’t Wanna Know If You Are Lonely) had released at some point with different name.

Re: New album video update Jan 2011 in General Therapy? Topics
You know, it’s not just about music. It’s about the culture that define us when wall of mouths falling hard. Here, Therapy? is a epitome; bankrupt side of my passion thru the crash course art: ““I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring. And that’s my one fear: that everything has happened; nothing exciting or new or interesting is ever going to happen again… the future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul.” Ballard once said; and McLuhan proposed that new tech built and then destroy the societies between little time frames. Sadly i believe; modern digital age shall violently crash roots of the innovation and we will face the recession of soul… I think it’s very good time to create really powerfull arts into this existential crisis. I’d like to concentrate this distant youth today, it will be important ( elegantly dead) tomorrow. Or you can forget all these shit that i’ve written (you should) and listen wiser man called Lou Reed: “There are very few great writers, very few great artists, and very few great rock ‘n’ roll bands.” For me T? is one of them and i like to talk about their toxic cloud romanticism while they still around.
