Re: New album video update Jan 2011 in General Therapy? Topics
It’s crossover. İf you do it right, it’s great. Lot of 90’s band did it wrong and it changed the direction of rock music. At some point maybe T? wants to record like Voivod or Killing Joke. And after Crooked Timber we can say it’s a right direction, makes sense at least. But to be honest i don’t think it will be happen as a whole result. It’s not a new influence; we got Loose (Photek Remix) with video clip which was aired randomly at Headbanger Balls at mid 90’s, we got Gimme Nyquil All Night Long, we got some much big dots between all records. God Kicks, Magic Mountains, Tramline… they all kind of strange at the first listen. But they were minority. Now, Screamager kind of songs become minority. I’m not really into this color but i can understand the evolution. Crooked Timbers’s only trademark point for me is ” My shade will comfort you” part, cos’ my taste, my understanding of Therapy? that connection goes thru my teenager years work like this. Now there’s a whole new generation growin’ old with global terror, recession, youtube, race issues and loneliness of social networks… and they really want to involve something, feel something. They don’t want more technology, they want more humanity. They accept these songs as a whole new beginning; first chapter of this book.
This record will be a challenge for me (again). At least this time i try to put it as a product of “Andy Caroll” era. I won’t judge it at the first sight nor 4o second clips or track list and artwork. I’ll try to touch it by the fragile gloves of burning time. We have to remember that; it’s a new world. New Ice Age. And this will be the record of that time.

Re: Like My Cat!! in Chit-Chat
It’ the visible power of Wall of Mouths. Maybe we can’t change the world but we can change one cat’s life. And sometimes it’s enough.

Seems like a happiest cat ever. I hope fame won’t change this.

Re: Who’s producing the new album then? in General Therapy? Topics
I think producers easily change the core ideas of the artists. Good one’s gives a suprising direction to the material and also update so many tehnical details, drum tones, vocal styles, relationships between tracks, etc… Also sometimes; looking thru your own material with someone else’s eyes makes huge differences. If Mr. Cairns produce someone else’s album, i don’t care the genres, i will give a shot that album - cos’ there should/might be some T? kind of light into the darkside at some point. So i’m not sure what i have to say now. Last night i listened the steam of new Social Distortion record which produce by their frontman Mike Ness. It’s a personal record, some kind of Stones tribute (Exile era) that he always want to do. And lot of bands feels that urge at some point of their history, doing something different, open new doors (St. Anger, Sandinista!). But Therapy? interestingly doing this at least three times (you can say nine or more). If this one sounds less adventurous, i won’t be suprised.

I’m mostly careless about this. There’s budget, schedule and lot of things going on. But if i’m the one who makes that decision with unlimited time and money, i choose Joe Barresi.

Re: Who’s producing the new album then? in General Therapy? Topics
Rick Rubin. He just sits there and tell the boys what they have to do. And asks questions like “Remember winter of 94’, you have to back that time and bring me the energy.” or “Let’s make a black metal album?”

Re: What was your first “new” Therapy? album? in General Therapy? Topics
I’ve got Troublegum cassette at high school but my proper buy is Infernal Love cd. It sounds so good, so i bought cd version of Troublegum and Nurse. I can’t remember my first single but it was probably “Loose”.

Wow, i’ve never thought Mr. McKeegan into The Descendents. That’s great.

Re: Songs Therapy? could cover in General Therapy? Topics
They sent ozzy their part and he added his vocal. There’s some good covers that recorded separately but lot of em feels shallow. Breaking the Law is great live. Last song at the set; solid rock’n roll goodbye to fans.

Re: New Weezer single + Album in Other Bands & Artists
It’s an entertaining album. It’s not a standout one like some fans mention though.

Re: new album 2011 in General Therapy? Topics
I won’t be suprised if the new album sounds like Troublegum meets Crooked Timber. They revisited that era with today’s wisdom and they still seems like happy when they play that songs live. I’ve seen lot of bands who seems like bored as hell when they play their glory days hits - difference is - it’s a kind of curse, if you can’t produce anything new and exciting, it always ready to haunt you. T? is exceptional. They always create great music and they are pretty productive. I think it’s a great time for them to record something bigger than all we except. This album is one of my (musical) reason to choose life at 2011.

Re: 2010 end of year round up in Other Bands & Artists
I didn’t forget “World Is Yours” - I have just thinking, it’s not actually this year’s release except the fact that German release date and CR edition. I think it’s one of the Motorhead’s best album since, i don’t know maybe Bastards or Sacrifice. Campbell and Dee are literally on fire. Try this at home.

And new issue of Metal Hammer examine the creation of Troublegum album. I think this month is: “I love Therapy? month”. And it’s about time.

Re: shameless, any good? in General Therapy? Topics
Buy all of them! You are lucky. You’ve never listen them. It’s a great adventure; discover that albums, listen them when lying at your bed, there’s a cynic and lonely rain outside, your neighbour’s dog barking. Your cell is ringing but you won’t answer it. So much thing going on in the world right now. Right now, only few people listen that albums (first time). Jamo; we won’t live forever but we are living right now.

New song is so 90’s, it’s great. Fugazi meets Black Sabbath kinda vibe all around. I hope new album sound like that.

Re: Andy’s political view on Ireland in General Therapy? Topics
At the end of the Infernal Love booklet, band pointed the ceasefire negotations as an peace opurtunity for Northern Ireland. To write a note like that, it doesn’t really matter the tool - means peace, hope and hope for peace is the language. Behind all these dark lyrics, i think he’s a pretty optimistic human being and probably his political views parallel with his presence.

Re: We’re Here Till The End in General Therapy? Topics
It has got that underground feeling when Therapy? first start - like a complete circle now. All the label problems behind, like they return their home once again. Also today is mp3 day; labels don’t want to spent lot of money to cover arts, sleeves and most importantly bands. Just a minority can hire Corbijn kind of artist today. Also i don’t think it’s the worse one. One cure fits that space for me. Also (İf you delete the great band photo inside) Shameless feels strange and lonely.

Re: We’re Here To The End tasters… in General Therapy? Topics
It’s better than i expected. Thunderously organic but never sound like a some kind of lost bootleg. My only complain is bass but it’s myspace, so we willneverknow untill 8th November. Overall; it captured the experience (surprisingly audiences) much, much better than lot of (new) live record. And surely, with the shade of small details; it’s an anti-mp3 album.

Re: We’re Here Till The End in General Therapy? Topics
“Heavy” is an interesting word. For my money; Pandemonium by Killing Joke is the heaviest album ever. It makes me lonely in this violent world. It breaks me randomly and then put me together like a one armed mother. I feel it same when i first listen Crooked Timber. Maybe as a sound -based- , Clutch - Self Titled is heavier than both, but feeling is the key word: How it changed your world or how it changed your perception about it’s borders and beyond, like conception of afterlife, living in a city under fire, try to draw a guilty thought bubbles of satan; like “I love the human nature”… And if we really need to talk about sound, i think “Knives” is one of the heaviest song ever written. Also there’s something really heavy going on at “Polar Bear” and “Straight Life”. And honestly, i can’t fantasise a person who wants to give a shot to “Suicide Pack” because it’s on the pop section and cover art feels like a office party. But I never found that misleading. I think it’s a great music and deserve to be (more) popular. İn a perfect world, Therapy? is a great pop band and U2 is a bunch of weirdos who spent their lives with determinist experimental bullshit (like their very own record call “pop”, now this is more agony than irony)

Re: Manic Street Preachers in Other Bands & Artists
I have Bradfield’s one and it’s almost perfect solo record. I don’t know anything about Wire’s “I Killed the Zeitgeist”. Honestly; i’m afraid to discover it beneath the dark sky of this depressing season. Maybe next summer.

Re: Manic Street Preachers in Other Bands & Artists
Send Away The Tigers era not bad all. At least more experimental than the record. I really respect their work ethic, they are more productive than the bands at their half age. And it’s good time for a live record. I think it should be their next.

Re: We’re Here Till The End in General Therapy? Topics
İt’s very hard to please a fan if you have 10 album or more. But it’s a confident, know-it-all kinda release. -Band release a live album when they are still active- means a lot for me. Also i’ve seen them recently and professionally they are at their peak. Songs remains the same but they feel like more connected and in this album i’m sure it feels like a family. Problem is legacy. I hope this record sells more than they imagine. So they can arange time to think about B-Sides record or some kind of box set, cover album at the near future. Because, you know, İt’s never enough for you and for me.

Re: The Wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists
Finally i will buy Earth Vs. I’ ve fight myself over ten years to not buy this record. Don’t ask why. I think coolest one is Endless Nameless because i familiar just two b-sides. But hands down for P.H.U.Q! If you don’t have the singles or never heard these sessions B-sides, it’s a dynamite.

Re: We’re Here Till The End in General Therapy? Topics
Nativity in Black was really helped me to explore more Sabbath at 94. Also i liked Misfits tribute Violent World when i was teenager (I’m not sure the verdict now). I’ve got plenty tribute record and my less favorite is Smith’s one, that i bought just for Therapy? just like “Alpha Motherfuckers” which is slightly better. If you don’t take the core idea seriously, i think tribute records have serious fun potential on the surface; at deep inside, i guess you’re right.
