I’m watching an interview with Andy at the minute on freesat channel 205 with some American interviewer. Looks like I missed quite a bit of it though. Did anyone see/record it or know if it’ll be shown again?

Yeah, I’d love to see something like this! Also, like most people have said, I’d love to see the old editions too.
Also, should you need any help with anything, I unfortunately find myself with a LOT of time on my hands so I’d be willing to help if I can be of any use.

I think this is a fantastic idea, but please excuse me while I cry because my stupid fucking health means I can’t get to any of the shows on the tour this year :’(

The cymbals in CT don’t come in at particularly weird times or anything, and with the amount they rehearse I’m fairly certain he knows exactly when everything comes in anyway.

I think with most Youtube videos now, if you right click in the actual video window, there should be an option to download them. It does only work in IE mind you, so if you’re unfortunate enough to be using it, being able to download Youtube videos will hopefully make up for it :p

That does sound like a pretty awesome idea. I’d happily pay that as well. I hope the lads are paying attention to this :P

I just realised I said “stuff” way too much in my first post.
Is there a thread on the WoM anywhere that has a list of all the rare or unreleased tracks that are floating around? I’ve collected a few over the past 5 years but the problem is that I don’t know what songs are out there, so I don’t know which ones I’m missing.
And back on topic… I think a box set that you have to wait for the cd’s or vinyl for would be good, rather than just lumping 5 or 6 together and releasing them all at the same time. No one does that these days though, which is a shame really.

Well, that’s sort of what I meant when I said about the “real sound”. It’s as close a representation as it can be without you actually being in the room with the band while they’re playing. Nothing will ever record a sound exactly as you hear it, but analogue recording is the original sound recorded straight onto whatever format, whether it’s tape or vinyl. It’s not a collection of thousands upon millions of samples of said sound all stuck together. I’m not arguing that digital sounds better than analogue, I was just pointing out that some people may think it does, and some people may not. My point was that some of the dynamics can sometimes be lost on vinyl, especially with an album like Crooked Timber, because the bass is so prominent and vinyl can only support it to a certain degree. If you take the whole “loudness war” into consideration as well. Compare any of the old T? records to the more recent ones and the overall amplitude of the older records is a fraction of what is is now. It’s easier to do that on CD than it is on vinyl, so comparing the two versions of CT is futile, because they will never sound identical in amplitude or otherwise. That’s the beauty of having both versions. They’re both different but good in their own way.
