Re: VINYL in Other Bands & Artists

The reason record companies went into cd’s was mainly because they are cheaper and easier to produce. Plus the fact that they could charge much more for them!
The reason vinyl sounds better than digital is because most of the sources we hear (instruments) are analog. No matter how many slices you make you will always
lose some of the pie! Exceptions can be made for synth based music which is fully digital.
Yes cd’s are handy, ipod is even handier, but if you have a half way decent system vinyl creams digital.
Of course thats only my opinion, but then again I’m always right so end of discussion!

Next topic please…

Yup I’m an old fart, but someone has to keep all you young whippersnappers in shape!

Excellent stuff. Me and my mates all had one copy of Babyteeth on vinyl from Comet that got copied onto many TDK and BASFs.
Nah preferred Sony metals meself!
Was living in Dublin, turntable was in Mayo, would go home for a weekend with about 5-10 lps and tape
them all for walkman duty.
Result was that I have a shitload of vinyl that is in perfect nick ‘cos I only played them a couple of times!
Most have made it to NY thanks to my carryon (which fits 42 lps!) and as long as they don’t weigh it I’m
fine!
Except for Babyteeth which my brother nicked from me and he doesn’t even have a turntable!
