Re: Free bootleg downloads for all in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Yeah, wonder if Andy ever got his ‘cocaine blow job’.

I’ve recently added some downloads by Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, Senseless Things, Butthole Surfers and Blur if anyone’s interested.

Re: Spinal Tap - Wembley - June 30th in Other Bands & Artists

Might have better luck at 9am, There will be some of the good seats held back for then.

We got seats in Row L of S3 at 11:30, I don’t think the presale was well advertised.

I had a look around some sites that have advanced tickets, but they’re really extortionate! Ranging from nearly £90 to about £200 a ticket. Sod that.

They’ve been face value all day on the presale link that I posted, that’s the only place selling official advance tickets.

Spinal Tap - Wembley - June 30th in Other Bands & Artists

Quote (author unknown):

Spoof band Spinal Tap have announced a “world tour” consisting of a single June date at London’s Wembley Arena.
The tour marks the 25th anniversary of mockumentary film, This is Spinal Tap, which launched the band’s career.
The band will be backed by 1960s folk trio The Folksmen, the focus of another spoof film, 2003’s A Mighty Wind.

Spinal Tap’s lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel commented: “If we’re going to do a World tour on only one night, at least it’s this world.”
Bassist Derek Smalls added: “one night is not enough, and it’s way too much”.

Spinal Tap have used a variety of drummers over the years due several untimely deaths, including a spontaneous combustion on stage.
The rest of the line-up for the world tour has not been announced but the group paid tribute to former members.
Singer and rhythm guitarist David St Hubbins said: “This show will be dedicated to all of our drummers who have passed on, either to their reward or to middle management at Sainsbury’s.”

The band also announced that they had tried in vain to produce some new material and will instead be releasing a new lost album this summer.
Their last tour was the Back from the Dead series of gigs in the US and Canada in 2000 and in 2007 they appeared at Live Earth.
Bassists from almost every other act on the bill including Metallica, Foo Fighters and Beastie Boys, joined Spinal Tap on stage in an effort to get the noise level up to 11 - a comedy reference to the film.

The announcement of the new tour comes after the band revealed on their website that their Unstoppable tour, scheduled for this year, had been cancelled.
A letter from the tour promoter explained: “The poor economy plays a role in this decision, as does the band’s history, pertaining to shows.”

Re: chris cornell - new album “scream” in Other Bands & Artists

Cornell has actually compared listening to his new album to the experience of listening to Dark Side Of The Moon. WTF?? I can listen to Dark Side Of The Moon on repeat for a week, Cornell’s new album makes me want to attack my ears with a hammer after 5 minutes then pour battery acid in my eyes so I can’t ever accidentally press the Play button and chance hearing part of it again with my now mostly dysfunctional ears.

You can’t access the BBC iPlayer stuff from Spain.

You might also want to check what is on at the Comedy Store, it’s just beside Leicester Square.

Story is that the 4th one will be animated, the 2nd one is still the best though.

Not many people get the reference. His name is seldom used, and only in the first film.

Fair enough, though the last time I was in London I bought a ticket from TKTS for half price and was in row G of the stalls. And there are so many shows on that unless you’re desperate to see a specific one then the TKTS option is definitely worth it. After all, half price for a London show saves you £20-£30 per ticket.

Isn’t all of Cambridge for arty farty quasi intellectuals who think it’s “cool” to read whilst standing around nonchalantly in a coffee bar somewhere? ;-)

I miss Fopp. There is still one in the centre of Glasgow but my local one was closed down when HMV bought the chain - there’s an HMV right across from where it was. Fopp was great for offers and never overpriced new releases.

I always preferred the indie stores, but these days they’re a dying breed. Can’t remember the last time I saw one in a small town.

And they wonder why so many people download music illegally these days.

Re: going to london 20th - 22nd of april and I want to see a show. Please advice in Chit-Chat

Exactly, you even end up with a chance of seeing a show that you’d previously thought Sold Out - as long as there are returns.

Re: Free bootleg downloads for all in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Thanks a lot, once I get that video I’ll stick it on Megaupload so that people can get it all at once without Rapidshare’s download limit kicking in.

That reminds me, I also have the first Amsterdam Paradiso show that I ripped from Fabchannel, I think some of you may have managed to download copies of it from me ages ago when I was on these boards as always_drunk.

You’re better off waiting until you get there and then going to the TKTS office in Leicester Square. They do cheaper than usual tickets on the day for shows that aren’t sold out, or selling returned tickets at a reduced rate.

Re: Free bootleg downloads for all in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Thanks. I know there are a lot of T? bootlegs about and a lot of people who would love to hear them, myself included.

I can see the point in traders, but I don’t think it’s something that everyone is able to do. So this seemed like a viable alternative.

I’m in the process of converting a whole load of boots from tape to FLAC for someone off the Carter board and it just seemed selfish to keep them to ourselves, the rest just sort of grew from there.

Free bootleg downloads for all in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you know trhat I’ve started a website with free bootleg downloads on it.

The T? show from Sound City ‘94 is already up, that’s the Tramway Glasgow one from Radio 1. There is also some Carter USM, PWEI and Cure if anyone wants it.

Anyway, what I’m looking for is more bootlegs, mainly 90’s indie/alternative stuff, to add to the site so that even more people can get their hands on them.

If anyone wants to contribute anything then that would be great, the internet should mean that most non-commercial bootlegs are free IMO.

So here is the address, please feel free to drop by, download what you want, join the forum etc.. I’m hoping to be making regular uploads.

http://www.themusicthatnobodylikes.tk <—a Carter USM reference before anyone takes undue offence.

Why bother with eBay when some kind hearted person could just as easily make the boot available as a 320k mp3, FLAC or WAV download? :-)
