Re: Therapy? font in General Therapy? Topics

Do you mean the ‘Marshall’ one as opposed to the former ‘Eurostyle’ font? I also prefer the old logo myself. (The one you can see very clearly at the top of this page on Babyteeth, Pleasure Death and Nurse)

Re: The full T? discography in General Therapy? Topics

I was working on one for http://www.mondopaddy.com but I’m so busy with other things that I don’t know how soon it will be finished.
I’m sorting out everything I have myself but it’s a slow enterprise. Maybe one day there will be several almost complete discographies ;-)

Re: Therapy? on a Belgian Radiostation in General Therapy? Topics

I listened to the Studio Brussel interview (read the mail and realised it was on at that moment!) and recorded it on minidisc but with lots of noise because I got it off the air in the Netherlands.
Here’s a summary:

First the host asks Michael about a Michael Jackson song and he politely avoids calling it shit and says for people who are into it it must be okay ;-)

Then he says he’s been living in Belgium for about 6 months ‘at a secret location’ in Brussels. His girlfriend got a job in Brussels and he’s got family in Belgium and he always had a good time there and it’s going fine so far

Then they talk about the new single ‘I am the money’. It’s a wee bit different from normal Therapy?. It’s still a heavy rock song but a different twist from what they’ve done before. They wanted to make it more to the point. Last album had longer songs on it, now it’s ‘less is more’. The album’s not too short though, 12 songs. The album comes out the last week of september it’s called ‘Shameless’ because that was the attitude they took recording it. They didn’t worry about magazines and radio, if they liked it they played it.

The tour is not set yet, but they expect to do a long European tour in October, November and surely will come in Belgium.

Then they played ‘I am the money’.

Can’t read these, probably need a special font installed to read the encoding.

Re: I met Therapy? did you? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, but Fyfe’s dad might still be in (Northern-??)Ireland and his son might visit him once a while, right? I don’t know their personal details that well :)

Re: CD Prices in General Therapy? Topics

I think for a full-length cd it should be about NLG25/BEF500/EUR12/USD10/UKP8 (very rough currency conversions).
Right now it seems to become about twice that amount in the regular shops, although it’s usually not too hard to get a cd for under NLG40.
Singles should be about NLG10/BEF200/EUR4.5/USD4/UKP3
all formats the same, CD, vinyl and MD, and DVDs can be more.

Re: next to you? in General Therapy? Topics

I think Fyfe’s drumming had a lot to do with me getting into Therapy? so much, but still years after he left I still enjoy Therapy? a whole lot so there’s certainly something in what the other band members do :) I don’t think Graham is a brilliant drummer, but he’s good enough and more importantly he fits nicely as a person.

Oh, and Next to you is on a bootleg 7’ single together with Invisible Sun (the song they did for Peace Together). It’s supposed to be rare but I just picked up an absolutely great copy of it. The song itself apparantly is Therapy? plus Sting (of the Police) from a French tv show. I like it a lot.

Re: A Therapy? cartoon. in General Therapy? Topics

I don’t like the idea of Therapy? as superheros. They’re normal people
who happened to find something nice to do that they could actually
use to get out and see places and meet nice people. The only special
thing about them is that they are so normal (that is, for rock stars they are not so weird at all ;-)

Re: I met Therapy? did you? in General Therapy? Topics

Hey, looks like there’s still Irish fans around then :) If you see Fyfe again, can you send him my regards (no, he doesn’t know me personally) and ask if he’s planning to put any of that great drumming on records?

Greetz, Marco.

Re: Who is the face of nurse? in General Therapy? Topics

I believe it’s just that, Jeffrey Dahmer as a kid. Don’t know where I read/heard this though.

Re: Therapy? fans in General Therapy? Topics

there’s good and bad stuff in almost every genre. and different styles are suited for different times. I tend to prefer alternative rock/grunge but have lots of other tastes.

Re: WHEN did you get into Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

I saw a short documentary (or is that rockumentary?) on MTV, later I saw the clip for Screamager and was hooked. I think Pinkpop was the first time I saw them live.

Re: I met Therapy? did you? in General Therapy? Topics

I met Therapy? once backstage at their concert with Skunk Anansie in Deinze, Belgium. (thanks to Wouter for that :) Unfortunately the show was cancelled due to power problems at the venue, but in stead we got a really cool short acoustic set for the fans that had stayed there (only about 30 people I guess). It also was the first time I drank Guinness :-) I must say I think Andy at the time was into drugs (no really bad behaviour but something was wrong I thought), but Michael was very nice and we talked about their South American shows with Ozzy. I ended up hanging around more with Skunk Anansie and the crew than with the guys from Therapy?, but I really didn’t mind. Fyfe was nowhere to be seen which I still think is a pity because I do believe he has a great style. I did see the guys a few times for short moments (I got their autographs at a Werchter show a few years ago) and ofcourse been front row numerous times.

Only last Friday I was at the VIP/Press area at the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium sitting with some friends at a table, when Michael walked by. He recognised me (as a fan from concerts?) and said how are you doing, I said fine what are you doing here and he said he was with some friends. I didn’t know what else to say or ask as het sat down at the table next to us with a girl I don’t know.

Another funny story: last time Therapy? played at the Melkweg in Amsterdam me and a friend were rather early as some other fans arrived as well. They were talking to eachother and wondering if the band were coming out front. At that time Graham came walking by with a mobile phone but the fans didn’t recognise him :) After he hung up I walked to him asking if we could see the sound check or get backstage afterwards and he said he’d try but we never saw him back :( The show itself was amazing, though!
