Re: Best Therapy? Riff Ever!!! in General Therapy? Topics

Don’t you find the snare drum usage on teethgrinder to be a little off the beaten (or bitten) path of drumming methods, not that I’m a drummer.

I’m a guitarist, and I’d say the best riffs to have fun with, ie. jump around and don’t care if you get them a bit wrong would be Evil Elvis, Hellbelly, and Stop It Your Killing Me.

Re: Semi-Detached poster in General Therapy? Topics

I hate cats, they’re far to intelligent to be pets, but not evolved enough to open cat food tins, that’s the only reason they tolerate humans you know, it’s not love. God help us if someone invents the paw operated tin opener. If I ever meet a cat capable if love, I’ll change my mind.

I’m a dog person, they understand exactly where they come in the household hierarchy.

I know, I’ve lived with both, I have a cat just now, evil, vindictive, ‘I love you, open my food, I really love you’ prrr prrr prrr hisss scratch bite prrr prrr prrr.

Oh dear god/allah/buddah/krishna please tell me that’s a joke.

Re: Where to now? in General Therapy? Topics

I’m with trigger on this one, although I got into T? during the troublegum years, and really love that album (does that make me a troublegum fan?) I’d like them to rediscover their pre-troublegum days. Nurse has got to be my favourite album, and Baby Teeth/Pleasure Death are great, everything after Semidetached is a bit watered down.

Come on guys, just because you’re getting on a bit, you can always find somehting to be angry about. Stop being so damn happy. (only joking)

Re: Concert tshirts in Chit-Chat

Hey Brendon,
I’ve never heard of that ‘unwritten’ rule. Although I have had occassions where I’ve wondered if I’m going to look a bit silly by doing just that, but I always end up with one. In fact, while I was out here in Canada (moving back to Scotland tomorrow) I caught a Megadeth concert, bought one of the T-shirts and put it on straight away. Everyone else was wearing some sort of Megadeth thing.

Re: the ideal crash in Chit-Chat

Hey Messiah, good to hear your point of view after such a long absence. I totally agree with you that bombing Afgahn is the wrong thing to do, that war begets war and it only fuels the fire of hatred. Bush only wants to bomb places to keep his gun-totting, trigger happy, followers happy.
The US needs to stop and think, pause for reflection and as you say, ask why?
I’m not saying that no-one should go unpunished, but if the US slap sanctions on another mid-east country or start indiscriminatley bombing, they’ll only fuel the fire, and some day it’ll rise again to burn them.

Re: SAVE THERAPY? !!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

Absolutely, if ever I see anything by Therapy? that I don’t have, of course I’m going to buy it, in fact I just bought Caucasian Psycosis even tho’ I have Baby Teeth and Pleasure Death. A always have and always will buy into bands that I like.
I will however continue to download rare / unrealeased or otherwise hard to find songs and hope that I come accross them at a record store so I can own an original, and I believe many of the true fans feel the same way.

Re: New York in Chit-Chat

NATO representatives have unanimously voted to implement clause 5 of their resolutions, basically it states that in a situation like this, all members of the alliance must support any military action that the attacked nation takes, if that nation asks for help.
That a nation or number of nations attacked from abroad shall be considered as an attack against all nations under NATO.

So there’s you 3 (or more) countries.
I’m trying to get more info on NATO right now, but the website must be receiving a tremendous amount of traffic ‘cos it’s really slow. http://www.nato.int

Re: the ideal crash in Chit-Chat

It’s almost silly of me to back America, but if you really think about it, they deserve all the respect in the world. And the events of the last few days have made me rethink my views on America.

They have tried to stop violence in nations outwith their own. They have helped countries in times of disaster, when nobody else did, and what thanks do they get, being called money grabbing capitalist pigs by the very nations who, without the Americans help, would have collapsed into utter chaos and ruin.

This year 59 American communities have been flattened by tornadoes, nobody helped.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose.
Both are still broke.

When they come out of this tragedy, they have every right to thumb their nose at every nation who has not helped America in the least.

Remember that Bin Laden isn’t waging a war on America, he’s on a Jihad against western civilization, it’s a shame, but also a privelage that America represents the strongest symbolization of western culture.

I don’t want them to retaliate, not without the help of every nation that stands up for, and lives by western culture, democracy, freedom, and beleive me, we take our freedom for granted, every minute of every day.
Or just don’t retaliate at all, but don’t help anyone else who asks, just go back to, as you say Brendon, ‘Lassez Faire’ maybe America can then, instead of fighting other peoples battles or helping others in need, you can concentrate on the wars and problems in your own cities.

Screw everyone who thinks this is America vs Afgahn, this is Bin Laden vs the rest of the world, but the rest of the world doesn’t want to know.

Re: northern ireland in Chit-Chat

He won’t, like father like son, he’s inhereted all the trouble that his father was part of. He said something like, we will seek out and punish whoever is responsible, and punish any country that harbours terrorists. So even if it’s found to be Bin Laden, the US will wage war on Afgahnistan for harbouring him.
It’s going to be a really nasty few weeks.

There’s already been explosions in Kubul, but no-one knows if the US is behind it, personally I doubt it. There’s a civil war going on there, it could be one side carrying out the violence and conveniently blaming the US.

I hate this world right now.

But I am proud of the way New Yorkers dealt with the terror today. Calmly, and efficiently when I would have just curled up in a corner and…
My heart goes out to them all.

Re: Shameless in General Therapy? Topics

I like the clip of Body Bag Girl too, it’s a little different. Although it does bear a striking resemblance to certain Gary Glitter song.

Re: northern ireland in Chit-Chat

At last,
I have often wondered how much we really care about what is going on around us here, on this very board.
With so much hate on this planet, all (I’m sorry if this offends anyone) based on religion.

We seem to be a slave to societies vision, that the only way we can be better than anyone else is to have the next Playstation, or X-Fuckin’-Box, when there are children, not only being injured or killed for reasons they don’t know, but fighting wars, being brainwashed into fighting wars for their stupid political leaders…

It makes me sick, so sick I’ve thought about ending it here and now.

I’ve sometimes had to walk away from a party because I can’t enjoy myself without thinking about a story I read in Time, about a 7 year old kid from Sierra Leone, he’d been kidnapped from his parents at the age of 5, drugged and brainwashed for 2 years, and sent back to his family at the age of 7, with a fuckin’ machine gun and killed his own parents. Before dying, his uncle asked ‘Why?, why have you killed me’ and the kid could only say ’ I don’t know why, uncle’…

Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but on the last page of Infernal Love, the guys wrote ‘this album was created at a time when there was a real chance of peace in Northern Ireland’
There will never be peace in Ireland, nor will there ever be peace on this planet. It’s a pessimistic view I know, but it’s the reality.

We have created this world, we created religion (not some god), we created hate, and we are going to suffer as a consequence.

For anyone who cares;

http://www.thekidsaidssite.com/
http://www.therainforestsite.com/
http://www.thehungersite.com/
http://www.aclu.org/executionwatch.html
http://www.amnesty.org/
http://www.hatemonitor.org/

And of course http://www.wm3.org

(Rene, come on, it’s about time we had some html on this board)

From the best british group forum, I think this is fitting;
‘imagine all the people, living life in peace’
I think we all know who I’m talking about.

But hey, if this is too much, why not do what we do every day, what I’m often guilty of doing…switch the channel, turn on the playstation, turn the blind eye, pretend it’s not real, pretend it doesn’t matter…

I appologise ladies and gentlemen for my rant, it’s the longest one I’ve done so far, but you’ve hit a subject close to my heart. I now have a headache, and am going to sleap, in my comfortable bed, made in china probably, by child labourers, goodnight and sleep tight.

Re: Who is the best British band ever? in Other Bands & Artists

mmmmm, I’m going through a Pink Floyd stage at the moment. But my vote goes to Black Sabbath, just for the influence they had on metal music.

Re: First Shameless tour announced by Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

Well, I don’t care where they play, for once in a blue moon they’re playing Glasgow when I’m at home. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to miss that.

Re: Ziggy Stardust in Other Bands & Artists

What do you think his finest moment was?
For me it’s the Earthling-Outside period. And I kind of take back the 80s comment, ‘cos Labyrinth was released in the 80s and that film is cool.

Re: www.audiogalaxy.com: IT WORKS! in Chit-Chat

I’ve been using it for about 2 months, I’ve found almost every song I’ve searched for, although I’ve often had to think up of creative titles. If you go for famous songs you’ll sometimes find the satellite button has an x on it, meaning it’s blocked by copyright laws or some shit, just keep looking ‘cos someone else will have spelled the song differently, or called it by one of the lyrics in the song.

Doing a search for Therapy? brings up 3-4 bands (AG doesn’t recognise the ?) all called therapy, one of them is an american rip/hip-hop band which sucks the big one.

Re: Ziggy Stardust in Other Bands & Artists

Barbie, you little wonder,
David Bowie is a god, except in the 80’s when he did things like Dancing in the Streets. Then he was only a semi-god.

There’s a good Scary Monsters available on Audiogalaxy with Trent Reznor and DB. I advise people to get it.

Re: your favourite drink? in Chit-Chat

mmmmmm sweet sweet beer.
Usually start off with a Guiness or 2, then move on to vodka and coke/red bull/lemonade.
Enough of those and I’ll be on Aftershock (it seems like such a good idea at the time)
I like Absinth also, but only after a meal.

Tool of course, a bunch of stuff downloaded from the web, incl NIN, Mazzy Star, Clare Voyant, Absurd Minds, T?, Pink Floyd, Reel Big Fish, 1000 Homo Dj’s. I haven’t really bought any CD’s for a while, the last 2 were Lateralus and White Zombies Astro Creep 2000 (‘cos I lost my first copy)

Re: car crash in Chit-Chat

It’s nasty, it’s severe (very severe) food poisoning. There was lots of it in the UK about 10 years ago. It can sometimes lead to death. The salmonella scare in the UK was attributed to chicken that hadn’t been cooked right, or had been cooked, frozen then cooked again.
Eggs also carried it.

Glad you didn’t go under Rene.

Re: I go to the school members of Therapy went 2! in General Therapy? Topics

I could be wrong, but it’s highly unlikely that there will be a yearbook. That sort of thing isn’t done in the UK. There might be some sort class photo or something.
In the 6 years I was at Secondary (high school for you western folks) there’s maybe 1 photo with me in it.

Original vs Acoustic versions in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Original vs Acoustic versions

Just wanted to know if anyone else thinks the same way I do.
Misery & Disgracelands acoustic versions sound so much better than the album versions.

Re: Which is better, Jenny Jones or Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

You know, this question is even more surreal than the Transormers one, which is why I like it. Jenny Jones gets my vote. JJ rocks my world. Therpay? can just take a back seat when JJ is in the house.
