Re: How influential is / was Therapy? ? in General Therapy? Topics
On our new E.P ‘The Ivory Skull’ the theme and title track were inspired by an interview with Mr Cairns where he quotes a writer describing the mind as “existing inside an ivory skull”.
Also the lead at the end of the song is a tribute to the solo on Die laughing.
Bit of a shameless plug but have a listen for yourselves at http://thephoenixprestige.bandcamp.com/

Re: How influential is / was Therapy? ? in General Therapy? Topics
I’m A HUGE T? fan, have been for a long time and they’ve certainly influenced my music especially Infernal Love, Babyteeth and Nurse. My band The Phoenix Prestige (based in China) is just about to release a CD and T?’s ghost can be felt throughout the record.
Have a listen to ‘The bullet catch’ (song 4) it borrows heavily from fyfe’s offsnare drumming techniques (teethgrinder). The feel of other songs such as ‘Antarctica’ (song 5) are heavily influenced by the atmospherics and sound effects found on Infernal Love.

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live
If so I’m in the mood for some old classics such as Losercop.
I’ve been listening to ‘Born in a crash’ lately so how’s about a rare B-side like Bloody blue or Speedball.
“you make me sick, you make me sick, you make meeeeeeeee sick”

Have to say Magic Mountain was a bit of a disapointment for me :(

Books/writers that directly influenced/quoted in Therapy?’s lyrics in General Therapy? Topics
I know Crooked Timber was influenced by Irish writers such as Becket,
and Joyce (ie. Andy appropriated “my shade will comfort you..” in the title track)
but what other example are there of this in T?’s works?

You’re right,

Re: A new single ? in General Therapy? Topics
What I love about bands such a T? is that they release lots of b-sides , eps and non album tracks.
Stuff like the Opal mantra ep and B-sides like Evilelvis, Summer of Hate, Our love must die etc.
They had their own art work and visuals and it was really cool tracking them down.
It’s v.cool that T? still do this but unfortunately nowadays everthing is digital.
Ah I miss the olden days.
I’d love a hardcopy EP with artwork .
Finally my mate got his brother to send crooked timber to us in China. We both love it.

Re: A new single ? in General Therapy? Topics
Honestly It’s really difficult to choose a single. Amazing album but best listened to all the way through.
Lyrically crooked timber is one of T?’s strongest.
