Re: So I come back in Chit-Chat

I , for one , welcome back our Womble Overlord.
Arise O Lord , and let your enemies be scattered, let those that hate you flee before your Holy Face.

Re: “A Brief Crack Of Light” cover, tracklisting and release date revealed! in General Therapy? Topics

On a related note , anyone else feeling sorry for the baldy guy that had to do the photos for the booklet ?

First they stick him up to his middle in muck and that water he is lying in looks to be bitter cold. Hope he didn’t catch a cold !

Re: “A Brief Crack Of Light” cover, tracklisting and release date revealed! in General Therapy? Topics

Got my copy in HMV in Blanchardstown yesterday.

On a first positive note , was gonna check in the shop where they usually put all the T? stuff - in the back of the shop under letter T in the pop/rock or metal section.
Surprised to see it was prominently displayed on the front wall in the New Releases - HMV recommended section , standing proudly inbetween Lana Del Rey and One Direction !
A small thing maybe but good to see anyway and it looked like quite a few had been taken off the shelf already.

On an initial spin at home , Marlow just stands out for me and it’s easy to see it catch on as a crowd pleaser live.
It had Mini-Cuch ( 6 years old ) singing woohoohoohoooo for the afternoon anyway.

Re: Cooking / Recipes in Chit-Chat

Chris , at a total guess are you by any chance a big fan of Masterchef on the telly as well ? ;)

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

Absolutely love The Buzzing.
Great sort of hallucinating bridge part in it , would probably even sound even better after a spliff. :)

Great flow to the album as well , the tracks complement each other in that order and it makes the album as a whole better than just the sum of the individual tracks.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Got a couple of new releases dropped on my desk this week :

Biohazard - Reborn in Defiance , like the sound of it after a first spin
Pulled Apart By Horses - Tough Love , disappointing so far

When work permits it I’ll have a go at Lacuna Coil and Lamb of God.

Re: Two gigs in one day ? in General Therapy? Topics

Mea culpa , I missed that memo from his evil priestness.

Means this trip will be just that little less epic.

Happy Birthday Sir Alan , Master of Nerdy Epicness.
See you in Cork for celebratory pints !

Two gigs in one day ? in General Therapy? Topics

Just saw there are 2 gigs planned for 4th of August , Lierop ( at 6pm ) and one later on in Raversbeuren , some 300km down the road in Germany.

Absolutely no idea how they’re gonna do this , but I take it this will be by car , after all most of it will be over German Autobahn where you can seriously step on it.

Was planning on heading to Lierop to start with , might consider the epicness of 2 in 1 day now.

Or anyone up for renting a helicopter ? :)

Re: “A Brief Crack Of Light” cover, tracklisting and release date revealed! in General Therapy? Topics

Was looking forward to buying it in the record store but just heard I will be working in Killarney the whole week from 6 to 10 February.
The only record store there that I could find online ( Roxy ) seemed to have closed down so I guess I’ll have to wait till I’m back in Dublin.

Patience is a virtue they say…

Re: Enter Shikari’s new album, it’s good! in Other Bands & Artists

Au contraire me compadre , I quite like Enter Shikari. Think they are more than dub step and dnb though.

In fact , our own Andy J Cairns is apparently rather fond of dub step.

Got freebies for this last night , looking forward to it very much.

Re: Graham Hopkins to join Snow Patrol for tour in Other Bands & Artists

Went to see Snow Patrol in Dublin last night ( Ms Cuch likes them ) and Graham was joining in as second drummer on a few songs.
Even got a song dedicated to him.

Anyways , it was nice to see him again and doing well.
Not my all time favo T? drummer but in fairness he could be doing worse than starting a tour with SP playing in front of 12,000 people for a couple of nights.

Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat

Is anyone watching Borgen on BBC Four ?

From the same ( Danish ) crowd that does The Killing. Has more of a political twist but is really good and recommendable.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Listening to a Dutch punk collective called The Ex.

They’ve been around since 1979 but never really caught on , strange as they are actually pretty good and made some great albums.

Re: Movies That Are So Bad They’re Good in Chit-Chat

There were some Steven Seagal movies on over the weekend and it’s like they’re getting worse every time you see one.

Re: Cork, Cyprus Avenue Show 09/03/2012-CONFIRMED in Therapy? Live

Sounds like a plan , Petri.
Couple of glasses of kossu , we’ll put Tuntematon Sotilas on in the pub and on the way down to Vicar St we could hunt down some Russians while shouting the name of the Great President !

:)

Re: Cork, Cyprus Avenue Show 09/03/2012-CONFIRMED in Therapy? Live

Count me in for both Cork and Dublin , after all someone has to look after DeepSleep there in bandit country before he gets lost in the slums and we never hear of him again. ;)

Any word of Petri and Kati yet ? This has the makings of another epic couple of days written all over it so I’m surprised he hasn’t booked yet !

Re: “Living In The Shadow…” video coming tomorrow! in General Therapy? Topics

Great video , does the song justice so fair play to all involved.

The song really has the vibe of an obscure Tarantino movie.

The Dreadnoughts - Victory Square
Urge Overkill - Saturation

Re: Nirwana Tuinfeest confirmation in Therapy? Live

Didn’t even know Nirwana was still going. Was last at the tuinfeest about 15 years ago or even a bit longer than that.
Peter Pan Speedrock were playing that year is all I remember.

Wouldn’t mind another trip down , relaxed festival this.

Re: I’ve just pre-ordered ‘A brief crack of light’ from Global in General Therapy? Topics

Had a rather ‘eventful’ flight back to Ireland on Tuesday thanks to this hurricane weather.

If anything I now fully understand where the inspiration for Why Turbulence? came from ! :)

Re: Therapy? - Actual Festival Pictures in Therapy? Live

Many thanks for those.

Seen hundreds and hundreds of band pics over the years but the one there of Andy holding up his guitar is probably one of the best and coolest I’ve ever seen !

Re: Support? in Therapy? Live

Ricky is pretty busy with the Thin Lizzy guys lately so I can’t see him making a support slot.

Kind of expecting ( hoping ) that LaFaro will come along again. Amazing band and brilliant new album.

Re: Best of Lists…2011 in Chit-Chat

Machine Head and LaFaro the best albums for me.

Best ( photo ) book by a mile: Where Were You? - Dublin Youth Culture & Street Style 1950-2000

Most memorable moment of the year : Partizan Belgrade - Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League.

LaFaro - Easy Meat.

What an album. What a band.
