Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

The compilation Death to the Pixies ( 1987-1991 ).

Great album , always thought that Planet of Sound has all the marks of a typical T? track.

Type O Negative in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Type O Negative

Just listening to a media copy of new CD ‘Dead Again’.

Think it’s not as good as October Rust but still an excellent album.

Anybody else heard it yet and if so what do you think ?

Re: Good Guitar Solos in Other Bands & Artists

Was gonna say a couple of tracks of Slayer’s Reign In Blood album but thinking of it that whole album in itself is one big freaking solo.
Absolutely neckbreaking stuff , Kerry King The Man !

Ah come on , mrs h !

You can use Casa Cuch for a kip ( I’m abroad anyway ) and it’s only a short flight from the UK.
Should be fairly cheap too if you bring your OAP Card ! ;)

Anyone been to any of their recent gigs in the UK ?

Going to see them on Saturday but haven’t seen them since they supported Bad Religion ages ago.
Listened to some of their new stuff on the website and looks promising.

De Heideroosjes in Other Bands & Artists

Title: De Heideroosjes

Sorry for the non-Dutch speakers but came across this earlier.
Heideroosjes new CD and single out soon and up for touring Benelux , Europe and Japan.
Might go again after last year’s JD Rock Nights !

Heideroosjes naar Japan

Uitgegeven: 3 februari 2007 18:22

Single

Re: Songs That You Have An Irrational Hatred Of in Other Bands & Artists

Angels by Robbie Williams.

Have been mates with the guy that actually wrote the song , he was my neighbour for a while.
Now I can get around the part that he was financially screwed , probably just the way the music industry works and he should have known better.

It’s the way RW and his management couldn’t show any respect when they were asked not to bring out the song that sickens me. They were well aware of the very sad circumstances surrounding the song and went ahead with it for financial gain.

Hearing it just makes my blood boil.

Re: Morrissey For Eurovision in Other Bands & Artists

Don’t get carried away here , all it is is a bit of a PR by a national broadcaster for an event that badly needs some publicity.

Not surprising if you know who’s girlfriend is doing the publicity for some of the entries… ;)

Re: What’s your favorite band from the early 60’s in Other Bands & Artists

Can’t really pick one of those bands. Despite my mum’s best efforts I wasn’t into the Beatles at all. The old fella is a Stones fan , but imo Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St are their best albums and they were recorded in the early 70s.

Going through some old tapes my 60s favo has to be The Yardbirds.

Got your ticket sorted , Jobrok ?

Posted on Mon, 11 December 2006 at 12:05

Re: IRON MAIDEN… Dublin 20th Dec. in Other Bands & Artists

Popped into my local Spar earlier this week and even the mega-magic ticketbox in there didn’t have any standing tickets left , seating only.
Will be in SoundCellar to see Tommy ( owner ) later this afternoon , if you want me to check it out let me know pls.

Re: IRON MAIDEN… Dublin 20th Dec. in Other Bands & Artists

Will do my best to help you out , Jobrok.

If my local Spar doesn’t have them on their magic ticketmaster machine anymore I can pop by SoundCellar as I have to be there on Friday night anyway.

Not sure if I go down to the gig myself , somehow my interest in Maiden has waned a lot over the last 5 years or so.
Did speak to a mate though who saw them in Paris and he said they were awesome.

Re: Guitar Exhibition in Dublin in Other Bands & Artists

That charity auction of the guitars should be a great occasion. Might pop in myself to see if I can increase the current axe collection a bit.
And the bro is the world’s biggest Rory Gallagher fan , he’d remortgage his house to get one of his guitars.

Guitar Exhibition in Dublin in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Guitar Exhibition in Dublin

“BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has lent one of his guitars to the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin for a new exhibition called “RockChic: The Life and Times of the Electric Guitar 1931-2006”. The exhibition will feature more than 100 legendary, vintage, rare and customized guitars, including instruments played by Jimi Hendrix, Phil Lynott, Rory Gallagher, Keith Richards, Bo Diddley, Carlos Santana and Van Morrison. Also featured will be new customized guitars from the likes of Patrick Cox, Christopher Bailey, David LaChapelle, Diane von Furstenburg and legendary Irish broadcaster Dave Fanning. These guitars will form part of a charity auction once the exhibition is complete. The guitar on loan from Tony is one of his black limited-edition Gibson Custom Shop SGs, as played on BLACK SABBATH tours and recordings since 2001. “RockChic” runs at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublin from November 23, 2006 to January 21, 2007. Admission is free. For opening hours and general information visit http://www.museum.ie. The exhibition is due to move to London from the end of January; more information on this when details are confirmed.”

Re: Kevin Bloody Wilson in Other Bands & Artists

Seen him before in Dublin and don’t think he’s funny at all.
Nothing original , just throwing in the same old stereotypical jokes that go around about Aussies for decades.
” Yeah mate , fair dinkum , what a sheila , throw some shrimp on the barbie mate and gimme a tinnie ” HAHAHAHA… :o

Re: Pink…!! in Other Bands & Artists

Dunno Dennis , maybe I’m just going on the stuff I hear in the charts. Not too familiar with her albums.

As for mentioning James Blunt , next time can you please send out a warning first ? ;)

Re: Pink…!! in Other Bands & Artists

You should have asked her how she can be middle of the road for so long and not get hit by a bus.
