Iggy & The Stooges are there , man !!
Also Opeth , Ministry and , for the more punky types among us , Pennywise ( although I really can’t stand that Bro Hymn tune anymore ).
HIM and Placebo for good measure also feature and bands as CKY and Lostprophets are supposed to be very good.

Re: Therapy? in Belgium this summer in Therapy? Live
What’s everybody’s problem with Flogging Molly ?
Last year I saw them in Dublin and they were brilliant on the night.
Lokerse Feesten is one I will deffo be taking in this summer. My parents and most of my family live just over the Dutch border there so it will be a family reunion with T? and Molly thrown in for a win-win holiday !

Re: T? Play Dublin (Download 09/06/06) in Therapy? Live
There was a very small merchandise stand outside with afaik only one T? shirt ( the gemil - crossbones one ) and don’t think it was organised by Therapy? indeed.
As for the gig , sound started off pretty badly but got adjusted soon and was better afterwards.
Accelerator went down very well I thought. Overall too short as was to be expected but the atmosphere was good and Andy in good form ( ” I had a dream last night I killed James Blunt ” ) :D
Only caught a bit of GnR but wasn’t too impressed. Milking guitar solos inbetween songs for ages and therefore grinding out one song every 15 minutes ???
Anyway , by some weird coincidence we ended up backstage Stage Two while GnR was still playing so we enjoyed the firework coming out of the Arena while having a nice Beaujolais with the T? party :D

Re: T? Play Dublin (Download 09/06/06) in Therapy? Live
Another interesting thing : Axl didn’t show up in the Hammersmith Apollo till 10.50pm last night.
Other recent gigs he was 3 hours late in Hungary and 2 hours late in Spain.
There’s no way he will be finished anywhere near 10 or 10.30 in the RDS as the curfew is , if he already shows up before that time. If so I hope Aiken Promotions and their insurance people have their act together and pull them out. If done early enough , that could leave a gap of an hour or more to fill on main stage…
Wishful thinking maybe ?
Otherwise I’ll be out as soon as T? finish and head off to the pub , so Alan can at least catch the whole World Cup match of his beloved Poland playing Ecuador :D

Really looking forward to this one already. Also good the lads have a couple of days off before Download , heard some alarming rumours Neil’s hands are in bits after the latest gigs.
So , who of the Wombles will all be there ?

Ehmm…dunno what age you are Diablo , but people drinking orange juice or J20 before a gig after which they still have to drive home with passengers in their car to me just spells that they are responsible and I for one respect that. If only more people would do that !

Casa Cuchulain is open if you’re stuck for accommodation.

On behalf of Alan , Pip and myself , can we say a very big thank you to Paul the Promoter , Amanda and Claire & Dean for looking after ‘the Irish’ brilliantly. YOU ROCK !
From transport to and from the ferry , accomodation , beers and food , we were looked after very well. Welsh hospitality at it’s best and you absolutely do your country proud.
Looking forward to returning the favour in future !
Cheers !

Doesn’t surprise me one bit , mothertrucker. My fists get very itchy when being pushed around by frustrated security guys every time a gig in The Ambassador ends.
You been in the Sugar Club venue yet ?

Re: Welsh date: Narberth 26/05/06 in Therapy? Live
Whatever the issues arising from the parental ages in the Welsh population , the only question that I would really like to see answered is if the Queen’s Hall in Narberth serve the lovely Brains SA beer.
Can anyone confirm please ?

What Spar do you live beside? That sells tickets?
Very small Spar shop in Blanchardstown , Dublin 15 , next to the Shopping Centre.
Don’t know what machine they have in there but they always seem to have tickets left for sold out gigs. My guess is they buy them in bulk beforehand and as it’s such a small outlet they don’t sell loads of them.

Re: T? Play Dublin (Download 09/06/06) in Therapy? Live
Could be the ticketmaster site playing up as well.
Had trouble booking stuff there in the past so nowadays I just walk into the Spar around the corner who seem to have some stand-alone system.
They often can still sell tickets that appear to be sold out on ticketmaster but also you can pay in good old-fashioned cash without leaving all your address and credit card details online.

http://www.downloadfestival.ie/festival_info/siteplan.asp#
From the plan I take it you can just walk in the hall with Stage Two as that one’s standing only and your seating ticket is only for the main arena. There’s different entrances to the main arena where they will prob check your ticket to see if you’re standing or sitting.
Then again it’s Dublin , the ability to make a muckery out of everything is in the genes here !
Anyway , good to see Stage Two is next to the catering area.
Alan will be delighted ;)

Re: T? Play Dublin (Download 09/06/06) in Therapy? Live
Maybe it is all a cunning marketing plot by the Download organisation. Tickets are not selling because nobody can be bothered to fork out 65 quit to see Axl and whatever’s left of GnR. Add T? and hey presto , standing tickets sold out in 2 days !

For Therapy? in Dublin…
Would definitely go with the Ambassador. Perfect size (fits about 2k crowd), you can see the stage no matter where you stand, have easy access to the bar without having to leave the venue etc…
They played there the last time (was my Birthday :)) and hope they play there again.
Fully agree about the Ambassador being the best venue in Dublin. The Village where they played some years ago just had this weird outlay.
What annoys me in Dublin though is the over the top security. At The Village anyone that was even attempting to have a good time was thrown out and in The Ambassador they physically try to get you outside as soon as the last note is played.
The cloakroom is so small there’s a huge queue anyway , so why don’t they let people stay inside and finish their beer in peace while the queue gets shorter ?
One of these days one of these frusty bouncers is gonna be on the receiving end of one of my bitchslaps !

Was on a bit of a bender that weekend with Utrecht thrown in for good measure as well. All the Jupiler must have faded the memory somehow :)

Re: Gigology in Therapy? Live
Thursday, March 31st Maz Bruges, Belgium [support: Cabron] (set-list)
Friday, April 1st Oosterpoort Groningen, Netherlands (set-list)
Saturday, April 2nd Rock Weekend America, Netherlands (set-list)
Sunday, April 3rd Tivoli Utrecht, Netherlands (set-list)
Wasn’t the gig in Maz in Bruges on Friday 1st ?
If memory servers me correct DeepSleep dropped me off at my parents at 4am after that one and picked me up at noon again to go to America , so don’t think Groningen was in between those two.
Also , didn’t Triggerfinger suppport them in Bruges instead of Cabron ??

Re: Gigology in Therapy? Live
Think the upcoming gig in Narberth , Wales - May 26th is not added in the 2006 section yet.
Otherwise an excellent list , you just made my day! Brought back loads of memories. Also a bit scary to see how many times over the years I’ve seen the guys play. After a quick first count I’m at 32 or 33. Some places they’ve played that often that I don’t even remember which ones I took in or not.

Re: T? on Guns ‘N’ Roses Linup at Download Ireland in Therapy? Live
I’m off to get my tickets for the Friday of Download now.
They’re EUR.64,50 which is a tad expensive if you just want to see T?. But I don’t want to miss this one in my hometown , no matter who else plays.
As for Axl and whoever is left of G’n’R , not sure if I stick around for that one. My love for them ( if ever one ) has waned ever since the good days but they might still play some of the tunes I do like.
