Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
Had a backstage pass to Kraftwerk and some other bands last Sat at Luggala near Dublin.
Great sunny day and good gig , although the Kraftwerk set was exactly the same as last time I saw them.
Had a good chat in Flemish with the guys from Soulwax and with the latest addition to Kraftwerk. Forgot his name ( free booze all day… ) but he replaces Florian Schneider in Kraftwerk and is the lab tech from KlingKlang Studios in Duesseldorf or something like that.

Re: Whats the next gig you want to go to? in Chit-Chat
Next week Kraftwerk + guests ( ao Soulwax ).
In December Kerbdog and in an act of total unrocklike coolness… Tracy Chapman.

Re: I just bought… (split for things you’ve bought that aren’t music) in Chit-Chat
Splashed out on Sunday and bought a freezer , a hedge trimmer and a lawn strimmer.
Unfortunately , her indoors made me use the last two items straight away.

Maybe he just wanted to give you a subtle hint that you’re late every time it’s your turn to buy the round in.

Re: 29th of August a mini gig in Zeeland Holland in Therapy? Live
Gig was in St.Jansteen near my hometown in Holland , where they had a mini festival this weekend.
Heard the rumours but couldn’t go , only back in Ireland after a trip to Sweden and wanted to spend some days with loved ones before flying out to Holland on Thursday.
My educated guess is that the band were visiting Mikehell’s better half who is local there and where asked to play and couldn’t resist.
The guys from Stone Dust have been in a number of bands locally and I would know most of them for years through bands and local football teams.
Still gutted I missed it though !

Ronnie Drew RIP in Other Bands & Artists
One of my favourite characters in Irish music and a punk if ever there was one , died aged 73 on Saturday.
RIP Ronnie , you legend.

Re: Vent your spleen! in Chit-Chat
Returned from holidays with a lung infection , finding the casa plagued by flies and had to attend 2 funerals in the first 4 days back.
To make things worse , I took the better half out for a copious meal in the local Italian restaurant this weekend , only to find that the background music in the place was in fact no one else than our good friend James Blunt , whose last name ( much to the annoyance of the missus who actually bought one of his CDs ) I tend to mispronounce as Cunt.
By the time the main course arrived it became obvious that the CD was on either shuffle or repeat as the same tunes started to come by.
On seeing my facial expression the war office kindly asked me not to ruin her fine dining experience by complaining to the waitress or starting a discussion with the owner about the merits of background music in Italian restaurants.
In my defence , I had no intention of doing so and was prepared to let it slip , but another half bottle of Barolo later and the waitress passing by I just had to ask her kindly to turn off that crap before it makes me sick and whatever happened to some good Paolo Conte whilst having an Italian dish.
Was I right to complain or should I have kept shut ?

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Problem with Metallica is that they’ve forgotten what rock music is all about ; far off lands , deals with the devil and where smoke is in relation to water.

Re: T?-shirt reissues in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Excellent idea !!!
Anyone remember the shirt with on the front THERAPY? in flames , with under it CRAZY NAME - CRAZY GUYS.
Have that one in my wardrobe but it’s rather old and there’s a couple of small holes in it by now. Would love that one re-issued.
Please please please ?

Re: Cheaper rail & bus travel in Ireland in Chit-Chat
For travelling from Dublin to Cork , I prefer flying these days as it can be way cheaper than taking the train.
If only you didn’t have to be in the airport an hour or so early it would have been ideal.

Re: Hungover Housemate Awakener in Other Bands & Artists
Normally do that when I have mates over from back home for a long weekend.
For real torture though I wouldn’t go for metal but start with “I Am The One and Only” from Chesney Hawkes and take it from there.
The ones with really giga hangovers also don’t like it when you have a fry up accompanied with a beer in front of them at 8am.

Re: BRoken and broken up with in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Hardly see my family and close friends at all coz I’m living abroad for almost 7 years now and broken up with plenty of gf’s in the past , some in a good way some in a bad way , some after 3 days and some after 3+ years.
Not bothered by it at all though , it’s what happens in life so enjoy it while it lasts.
Relations are like airports , people come and go on flights, some with a serious delay or very turbulent.
It helps though if you board with the one with the first class ticket and the least baggage.
Dr.Cuch has spoketh.

Going to the A Day In The Life Festival in Dublin in September.
Small set-up in the Luggala estate in Wicklow , with ao Kraftwerk and Soulwax playing.
On the guestlist even so will be nice to have a peep backstage as well.

Re: New album producer confirmed in General Therapy? Topics
While my response was half tongue in cheek and half serious , it was given in by disappointment about the timeframe being put forward so far ahead.
Don’t want to sound too pessimistic but early 2009 reads to me as quite far into 2009 , especially when there’s Irish people involved :) and I’m way into cold turkey here and not liking it.
Maybe they should just call it Chinese Democracy Part II ;)

Re: New album producer confirmed in General Therapy? Topics
Ah , early 2009 !
When that message on the main page was posted on April Fools Day we should have known that you didn’t have 11 or so finished songs , that you weren’t going to do the producing yourself and that no recording would be done in May/June as it was just a big April 1 joke to get the true fans’ hopes up and then give them the false dawn message almost 4 months later.
Tip my hat to your sense of humour , guys , we should have seen it coming from a mile.
Hope it will be remembered when the thing comes out.

Re: Anything new with T? in General Therapy? Topics
Already posted something similar weeks ago.
Got abit shot down then for being impatient , which is absolutely true by the way.
It’s been weeks ( months ? ) since any updates.
Last note was that May/June was for recording , so with it being July now we should get some good news soon.
About time too , serious posts on things as woodlice and knitting needles already appeared here…
