Actually, I drank some Jack at the weekend - I’ve definately mis-placed some brain cells that I had last week, I think. Though hopefully, there’ll be some cheap JD on offer at the Amsterdam & Tilburg gigs.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I’m going to those gigs?
The gigs in Holland, that is?
With Therapy? playing?
In Holland?
In April?
Me.
:D
You kidding ? Who you going with ? ;)

Both on drugs.
Virenque also betrayed his whole team but would still qualify as an artist in some way.
Biggest artist of all time I haven’t seen mentioned yet : Johan van der Velde.
Aa a young one , always wanted to be either him or Henk Lubberdink ( because of the long hair and cut off sleeves ) when having bmx races around the block with my school friends.

Re: Belgian beer in Chit-Chat
Recently found a nice pub in Dublin where every Monday night is my Leffe night ( all varieties there with matching glass ).
Place is only half full on Mondays with old-schoolers like me. DJ plays Tom Waits , Johnny Cash , John Hyatt and the likes. Combines nice with the leather sofas , the open fire and a Leffe or Grolsch swing-top in reach.

Never heard of that place before , but what a name for a pub and now on my list of places to visit before I die.
Or maybe better , visit after I die ;)

Got some tickets over the weekend for Drive-By Truckers on April 3rd in Dublin.
Some good ole Texas blues before heading over to Amsterdam and Tilburg !

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
Went to see Coheed and Cambria in Dublin’s TBMC last night.
They played for just under an hour , had a break and then the bass player comes up again and tells the crowd they can’t play any further due to sickness of the drummer ( who had just been drumming pretty good for an hour… )
Too bad as the time they did play they were awesome.
Felt a bit like being in bed with a supermodel , having all the foreplay and then she quits just when all the fun starts ! ;)

Viz letters in Chit-Chat

Hats off to the England cricketers for their achievements in the Ashes this summer, which rightly earned Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff BBC Sports personality of the Year. Winning a two-team tournament against a nation with a much smaller population once in every ten attempts, then never shutting up about it makes me proud to be British. Ben Hunt
Peter Andre might look smug in all his wedding pictures, but I’d just like to remind him that, as a Playboy reader, I have seen his wife’s minge. He hasn’t seen my wife’s, so who’s had the last laugh? P, Leeds
On holiday a few years back, I took part in a quiz and managed to reach the final only to lose out after what I consider to this day, to be a correct answer. The question asked ‘What ‘C’ would you associate Jeremy Clarkson with?’ to which I confidently replied ‘<unt’. Not only was I told the answer was incorrect, but I was asked by the holiday rep to leave the premises immediately! Has anyone else experienced such appalling treatment whilst holidaying with one’s family? Noel, Leeds
My friend’s mum recently pointed out that I have the same ironing board cover as her. Can anyone think of a more mundane and pointless remark to make than this? Alun Daniel
Did anyone else feel that Mel Gibson’s remake of the classic Life of Brian wasn’t anywhere near as funny as the original?
Could the Home Secretary explain to me how biometric checks on iris patterns and fingerprints are going to help keep tabs on muslim cleric Abu Hamsa. Les, Barnsley
How come rap artist Dr. Dre can use the ‘N’ word on his multi-million selling albums and win a MOBO award, yet when I used it at my son’s football match I was asked to leave the park? Once again, it’s one law for the rich and another for the poor. Reg Ashcroft, Bradford
The government says that there are nearly 50,000 people with HIV in Britain, a third of whom do not even know that they have it. Is it just me, or is it a bit harsh that the government know and haven’t told the poor sods? John Campbell, e-mail
Never mind ventriloquists like Keith Harris and Roger DeCourcey. What about Professor Stephen Hawking? I saw him on telly blathering on about galaxies for hours and I never saw his lips move once. Genius. Mike Woods, e-mail
Hats off to the witty burglars who stole my entire CD collection with the exception of “There is Nothing Left to Lose” by the Foo Fighters. I hope that when sentencing, the judge takes into account their splendid sense of humour. Chris Scaife, Jesmond
I see on the news that Lord Hutton says he is “satisfied that David Kelly took his own life”. He may not have liked Dr Kelly that much, but isn’t this taking gloating just a little too far? Dave Owen, Edinburgh
I was extremely saddened to hear of Richard Whiteley’s recent death. But I was cheered to imagine his life support machine making the famous Countdown “da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da! Booooooo!” sound as he took his final breaths. Tripod

Re: going to be a good year … in Chit-Chat
Tool also one of the first confirmed for Pinkpop.
Saw them there in the tent a year of ago and they were awesome. With one or two more good bands added to the line-up I might even consider getting a ticket again. So far the rest is crappy and they probably sell out to the labels again by signing some loved-by-snotty-teenagers MTV-overhyped boybands.

Re: THERAPY? in the USA in Therapy? Live
It’s not too bad in Ireland either ( esp up north but that’s hardly surprising ). I’d say that they are only ‘world famous’ in Belgium and The Netherlands.

There is supposed to be a ‘grand finale’ with all the bands jamming together at the end , the so-called ‘Connections Set’.
Just thinking of the great range of covers these bands could come up with !

R.I.P Chris Penn.
I remember reading a story some years back about him being mugged on his way home one night. Story went that it wasn’t Chris who ended up in hospital with severe baseball bat wounds…

Re: The Clash in Other Bands & Artists
Oi , The Clash are great ! Grew up listening to them ( showing my age here ).
My personal favos would include some really early ones like ‘Rockers Galore’.
Not to be missed are also their more well-kwon albums like ‘From Here To Eternity’ and ‘Sandinista’.

Re: Gigs in Ireland (February)? in Therapy? Live
No T? in February , but if you wanna see some gigs you could check out Bob Mould ( Feb 2 ) , Coheed & Cambria ( Feb 7 ) or Alkaline Trio ( Feb 23 ).
If you’re lucky enough to be here a bit longer , March should be good as well. Coming to Dublin are Redneck Manifesto , The Buzzcocks , Against Me , Avenged Sevenfold. Terry Hall of The Specials will also be doing a DJ set in the Voodoo.

When I play ‘Here Be Monsters’ I mix up the first chords with Wild Thing by The Troggs as they are pretty similar.
Every time I end up singing the first lines of Wild Thing before eventually switching back to HBM.

Currently I’m going through ‘The Dark Angel’ by John Connolly again.
Big fan of his atmospheric ‘Charlie Parker’ horror novels and as I’m waiting for a new one to come out I’m giving his last one a rerun.

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live
The Rolling Stones used to do it with an online vote and call-in to a radio station and only played the song that won. Also made a bit of a show around it on the night with voting results and all.
Last time I saw them in Amsterdam ( Bridges of Babylon Tour ) my favo song even WON !
