Dead : ( Well I couldn’t save both Polar Bear and Dead.

It was similar to the one in Lokeren but shorter because I think in Lokeren they got an hour and they only had 45 minutes yesterday. Unlike in Lokeren, though, the weather was very nice all day long. The Dutch crowd was also pretty enthusiastic, there were no half-interested Mötley Crüe fans filling up the front rows this time : )

Enjoy the Struggle, Crooked Timber (that only hits me now, wth? did I remember wrong?), Unbeliever and Stop It You’re Killing Me were dropped out and I think Exiles was played earlier in the set.

So these were the songs, the order is probably not 100 percent correct though: Knives, Screamager, Epilepsy, Stories, Exiles, Isolation, Teethgrinder, Die Laughing, Rust, Potato Junkie, Diane and Nowhere.

Especially Teethgrinder and Diane were absolutely lethal (even more so than usual) this time around. Dave was also there this time in his Chelsea shirt, he was taking pictures and checking out on a Presidents of the USA song with Neil after they were done.

Therapy?’s support acts ( ;) ) were worth it too. The Cult and especially Gary Moore were real discoveries for me - this is perhaps a ridiculous thing to say about bands who have been active for so long, but I’m really happy I got to know them. Gary Moore is a thrilling guitarist and The Cult’s frontman had me LMAO more than once, especially when he said ‘let’s get some underwear on this child, it is really disturbing’ (about the PinkPop brand). I’d already seen the Presidents when I went to see Therapy? for the first time in Lokeren and remembered them - you simply can’t help but smile when you see that man perform : )

My 2nd favourite band Fun Lovin’ Criminals also did very well, it was great seeing both them and Therapy?.

Yeah, they irritated me when they started appearing on the radio and the DJ’s were (as always) way too enthusiastic about it… I’m happy someone nominated them here because I haven’t taken the time yet to discover how bad they really are (though I have a general idea) and it’s bands like these that keep me from turning the radio on too much.

I don’t like the way this is going : / Gone and Polar Bear are in my ‘long’ list (34 songs, I also have a short list of 16 songs) of favourite Therapy? songs, so was Hypermania : ( Luckily I at least mostly agree with the hall of fame up until now, and I’ll defend my favourites ‘till the end! : )

Alright, now that I’m gonna meddle with this, let me first make clear I don’t dislike any Therapy? song, but it’s possible to compare them to each other : ) Deluded Son nearly got the - for being one of the 3 successive ‘too generic’ songs on OCFA for me but in the end My Voodoo Doll received it. Not a véry bad song, though. I had to choose between Gone, Polar Bear and Dead. Tough decision, Dead’s text is better and I love Gone, but Polar Bear’s mad riff and crazy instrumental part win it over the brilliance of the two other songs, it’s also longer than dead in a way that gives it more to offer, imo.

On Graspop Metal Meeting I came across quite a few good bands I’ll want to check out on. Amongst them was Iron Mask. They have an exceptional guitarist and very good vocalist, along with plain good songs. I’m going to get their albums after I finish my collection of Paradise Lost… Their albums can be kinda hard to find (though the Metalzone has them for a good price) but they’re on Youtube (like everything nowadays). I posted the links so you can check them out, ‘cos I think they’re an amazing band and I hope some of you will agree so we can support them to keep making such amazing (imo) music :D

Yeah, shocking, isn’t it? I agree completely, that was about my reaction when I heard the DJ say their name on the radio… They only ever had one song on the radio I can remember and I hope it’ll be their last as well, it went like this “Feed the horse mjam jam, feed the horse…” etc. It was such a terrible piece of crap it was enough for me to nominate them here, and believe me, they surpassed a couple of bands that have been pissing me off for a longer time :p (kaiser chiefs, for example) They probably don’t even really count as a band, we could replace them with ‘De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig’ if you wish. Those bastards are harder to ignore so…

There’s a good deal of bands I dislike but I left out those who at least had a good period in their career or managed to make at least a few good songs (like Green Day, can’t stand them, but they probably didn’t suck that much all the time, you get the idea).

Hmm, so many to pick from… do (popular) rappers count as music artists? I’ll need to size down my list somehow…

Fear Factory owns. I saw them at Graspop and bought an album I’m very happy with. They also look very heavy : )

The Baseballs are obviously worse than Nickelback! ^_^ We were in the store buying CD’s from dad’s list yesterday. He has a good taste for music but is sometimes misinformed by the papers who were very enthusiastic about them and I was shocked when I recognized those guys when I checked the CD in the store from the list. ‘Luckily’ (not for my ears though) I had seen them on television briefly, a second or 20 were enough for me to realize I was again seeing one of the worst bands I’d ever seen. Luckily I’ve talked him out of it by now.

I stick by de JVT and the Streets though, JVT gaining a convincing edge still.
