Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Just got done with Flood by They Might Be Giants. Lovely album.

Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat

A good sampler of his early stuff is the Bowie at the Beeb album. Better than a best of anyway. It has two discs of radio sessions from the 60s pop stuff up to about Ziggy.

Re: Crooked Timber (Deluxe Gold)? in General Therapy? Topics

It’d be nice if the Exiles single could have a few Water Rats songs as b-sides, just a few…

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

I was going to jump on the bandwagon and listen to Disintegration, but it’s too nice a day so I’ve got Parallel Lines by Blondie on instead.

Same thing.

Re: This place is dying off! in Chit-Chat

Maybe he’ll release a solo album of animal-themed songs.

Pastime Paradise by Stevie Wonder

I do love a bit of Stevie.

It’s cold and pissing down.

To the band - I’m the knob shouting for Duran Duran.

Re: Whats on your mind right now? in Chit-Chat

We’re not getting any big ones yet, thankfully. Eurgh.

Also, I think everybody has decided to mow their lawns today.

Bloody moths, comin’ in our house, takin’ our jobs (maybe).

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

One of the many Erasure LPs I own for some reason.

I did enjoy the Zwan for a change. Having it in the background meant I was able to focus only on the occasionally excellent Bimmy combo.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Settle Down by Zwan

It’s sunny, and Zwan is about the most sickeningly sunny band I’ve got.

Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog

I thought it was about time this album got another spin.

Maybe it was a theme park?

It’s about the time Andy worked in a zoo…

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

I still think that HA is just a bit too crisp. There are some very good songs but I got SPYF around the same time…

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

I’d certainly listen to it a bit more often - I think the songs are bloody fantastic.

Wikipedia wrote:

The Japanese version did not include the “insanity” links by David Holmes, but included two bonus tracks:

“Misery (Acoustic version)” (Cairns) – 3:10
“Isolation (Consolidated Synth Mix)” (Curtis/Sumner/Hook/Morris) – 4:41

Hmmm.

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

I’m sure I read that the Japanese edition just had the songs without the segues but I’m not sure if I want to trust Wikipedia that much.

About Pleasure Death:

I can kind of see what you are getting at. I like it a lot, but I think if it was any longer then I would get pretty sick of it.

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

Polar Bear is one of those songs which I always skip when I hear the intro, but if I bother to listen to it properly then I remember that I like it quite a bit.

Infernal Love might be higher up without those segues. They do work but sometimes I just can’t be arsed and want to listen to the songs.

Blasphemy!

I might say that High Anxiety was the weakest… or Scopophobia, if that counts.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

An old version of Bury Me by Smashing Pumpkins.

I love this track, especially the part where the guitar’s all “buhdleeweedlee dee dee duweeedly”.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve been having a mini-Deftonesfest with the two albums I own - Around the Fur and White Pony. Enjoyed them muchly. I forgot that I had left ATF running and had a bit of a fright when Damone came on.

Is it any good? I’m quite fond of the singles and the Japan cover.

So it was you!

I think you deserve a standing ovation or something similar.

I have an .mp3 copy of the 1996 one which I could send your way, unless you’re meaning physical copies.

Garfield strips performed by real people in costume, with a strange musical bit at the end of every video.

Odd stuff.

I’m trying to listen to some of my neglected records, so I put on True Blue by Madonna. Eurgh.

I’ll sell it when she dies.

So What by Miles Davis.

I’m listening to all of my albums with ‘blue’ in the title. It seemed appropriate and I have nothing better to do today.

Re: T? vids on youtube in General Therapy? Topics

Totally great video. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen much in the way of good quality live videos after 2003 or so, although audience ones are certainly getting better - there were some great ones of the Water Rats shows.
