Re: Advice Please in Chit-Chat

@ Chr1s: quite likely but I reckon singing along to “I’m gonna get drunk, come round and fuck you up” will at least bring the situation to tipping point, one way or the other!

Re: Whats on your mind right now? in Chit-Chat

Cheap and therefore shit roofing felt, trying to reroof a shed where the roof’s warped uneven so can’t get the felt tight to it, felt is shit so rips if I try to get it tight and a lot of the wood I want to attach it to around the edges is rotten - and it’s not even my bloody shed!
But it is my stuff in there so if I want it to stay dry…at least it should be waterproof even if it’s not as good a job as I normally do.

Re: Advice Please in Chit-Chat

Only one answer - you need to move into somewhere else, if it’s not working for you it’s not working, you’re already paying rent so pay it to someone else! If you are going to stay then your partner’s going to have to tell his family things have to change - bet he won’t though.
Housing situation in the UK is shit, I’ll be lucky if I can ever buy a house in the area I live and my work’s all built up around here so moving isn’t that great an option.
Stick on some T? very loud next time they come round, I suggest Knives.

Ride The Lightning LP by Metallica (only like the first 2 albums and Garage Days Re-revisited myself, anybody interested?).

Whoops, should be: only like the first and THIRD albums, not the first 2, as Ride The Lightning IS the 2nd, although the main reason for liking Master Of Puppets is for Orion.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Didn’t get that one, the 12” promos are: Wild & Wonderful promo, Devil’s Toy promo, Little Lost Sometimes prom and Over The Edge sampler.
Might have it on CD somewhere though, got a few Almighty CDs around, can’t remember which ones though.

Re: Whats on your mind right now? in Chit-Chat

Yep, of sorts, was removing some metal staples and nails from some wood and plant pots (BIG pots, 200 litres, the wood had been nailed across the top to keep the plants from exiting the tub in transit) and I slipped as it was raining, should have been more careful! It’s OK, it’ll grow back eventually, had to wrap it up tight with electrical tape to stop it pissing blood everywhere though, would have been better if it was my right hand though (I’m left handed).
Annoying thing is I’m usually careful and not very injury prone but I managed to nick my little finger on my right hand yesterday with my brand new secataeurs, as they’re brand new they’re f*&k off sharp, I’m sure I could see the bone! That’s healing up OK now, got to be real careful tomorrow!

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Grant check out Lost Dogs if you can get hold of it, Pearl Jam’s b-sides / rareties album, Brother has to be my favourite Pearl Jam song ever.

Got 5 Almighty records the other day, 4 are promo 12” and currently playing is the album Blood, Fire & Love (think it’s their debut).
Also picked up Go 12” single by Pearl Jam, a Stone Temple Pilots 12” (Sex Type Thing), Ride The Lightning LP by Metallica (only like the first 2 albums and Garage Days Re-revisited myself, anybody interested?).
Scientist Encounters Pac Man - Scientist
ASIWYFA - ASIWYFA

Re: Vinyl edition of A Brief Crack Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

They’re not continuing to press this, they’ve had a run pressed (no idea of numbers) and that’ll probably be it, they’ve never repressed any of the previous albums so I doubt this one will be different. It’s still available direct from Global Music and Amazon so not sold out, although amazon are £7 more expensive!

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat

Russian Circles last night, absolutely fantastic, SO heavy, I know the guitarist is looping a lot but some serious amount of noise from a 3 piece. Think the only reason they’re not in the top 5 selling metal acts is because of it being instrumental only, and long may that continue!

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

I quite like Semi Detached, not all of it’s great but Church Of Noise, Safe, Straight Life, The Boy’s Asleep and especially Tramline all get a fair bit of play, plus the b-sides to the singles from that album are great: 60 Watt Bulb and the cover of DJ Shadows High Noon being 2 of my favourite Therapy? b-sides.
But I’m sure there are people who feel that way about High Anxiety as well.

Not metal in the classic sense but this is the heavy belgian band I’m currently enjoying - Terraformer, from the Liege area, just got an album out.

Re: Jagermeister Gig, Bristol, April 2012 - My Thoughts in Therapy? Live

Glad you had a good time, make sure you get to a T? headline gig when they tour the new album, more chance of hearing some not so well known songs as well as being full of T? fans to have a beer with!
The guy with the flat cap and guitar is ‘Hot’ Steve, Andy’s guitar tech who also provides second guitar parts from just offstage, real nice bloke as well.
Skindred fans sounding scary? They’re mostly kids from what I saw at Brixton, and while it was full on down the front it always is, I got bruised plenty but I must have caused a fair bit myself, at least I didn’t lose a bit of tooth this time! (total accident that one, someone shorter than me caught me on the jaw with their shoulder at ASIWYFA last year)
