teethgrinder: i know you can decide for yourself… i would just think it very hypocritical for you to take it down… but alas i should not assume that you would and i apologize for the remark…

and the caps lock was only cause that’s how the post was directed at me…

ronald: the m and f are my first and middle name, george is my last… and i am a cool guy… but i stick up for myself and what i believe is right… i’m not going to lay down because you or a member of the band says something i don’t agree with… sure i lost my cool, but you push a person in the corner and they can either fold or fight… i fight…

i never once ever meant to offend you, the band, or anyone else here… i’m not even the person that stated all this, i just said i agreed with Michael A that the band should let us know, cause they said they would… and i said i disagreed with how Andy responded, because he sure points a finger at north american fans, and i feel i’ve done quite a bit for them, and that makes me upset…

if you can’t understand that, if you can’t understand why i haven’t purchased NANE up to this point, and if you can’t understand why all this would be a hot topic, then i can’t help you… i tried to explain, but obviously you just don’t understand…

BUY NANE ON THE NET…WHAT IS THE BIG ISSUE?????COPY IT AS MANY TIMES YOU WANT, SEND IT TO ANY RADIOSTATION, GET ON A PLANE AND DROP COPIES OUT OF THERE…ANYTHING…IF THERAPY? ARE UNABLE TO DO IT, HELP THEM…

YOU’VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME…

I HAVE NOT BOUGHT IT ON THE NET BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD IT MIGHT COME OUT OVER HERE… WHAT DO YOU NOT FUCKING UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?

I WILL NOT COPY AND SEND THE CD TO RADIO STATIONS BECAUSE THEY ARE LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY COPIED CDS… ON TOP OF THAT I HAVE A FUCKING LIFE AND DON’T HAVE THE GOD DAMN TIME TO BE THERAPY?’S FUCKING PROMO TEAM…

I HAVE DONE MORE THEN MY FAIR SHARE FOR THIS BAND… I’M NOT ASKING THEM TO COME HERE AND SUCK MY DICK, I WAS ASKING THEM TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THE ALBUM WOULD COME OUT, CAUSE THEY FUCKING TOLD US THEY WOULD…

NEVER, EVER, SINCE I’VE BEEN A THERAPY? FAN OR A MEMBER OF THIS MESSAGE BOARD HAS SOMEONE BEEN SO IGNORANT AS YOU…

AND THAT’S THE FIRST TIME I’VE INSULTED YOU, SO DON’T GO TELLING ME THAT I HAVE ALREADY..

AND TEETHGRINDER, DON’T TAKE THIS POST DOWN, CAUSE IF ANDY CAN GO SWEARING AT NORTH AMERICAN FANS, THEN TRUELY I CAN TELL RONALD THAT HE HAS HIS HEAD OF HIS FUCKING ASS…

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

you don’t know me at all, so don’t tell me it’s only once in a while i order outside of the country… over half my damn 500+ cds are not from canada… i listen to ALOT of bands worldwide, from sweden and belgium especially, and pay through the roof for them… but that’s because I KNOW i will never be able to get them here… NANE on the other hand, I DON’T KNOW… if Andy wants north american fans to show support, how better can i then when (if) NANE is released here, i buy it here?

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

all i ever wanted was to be informed about the release because we were told we would be… if there is to be no release, then i wanted to know that so i could find other means of getting the album… i already knew the dvd was not to be released here, and i went out and got that… but it has never been comfirmed that NANE would not be released until now…

it sucks that north america haven’t caught on to therapy?… i know i’ve done more then my fair share, especially considering i used to run the Therapy? in Canada website… i’ve tried everything ONE PERSON can do, and it’s a hell of a lot more then most europeans have done…

i 100% understand where the band is coming from, about record label bullshit, and about touring where the fans are… it sucks for north american fans and it sucks for therapy?

but i don’t think i need the band telling me to go fuck myself…

Do you have any idea what this will cost? I’m not quite sure they can afford this!

honestly, i have no idea… i’m not in a band or anything… but i do know there are literally thousand of bands, independant bands, that tour north america on any given day…

you know, i understand that therapy? have a good european fanbase and it makes sense to tour there… why spend all your time somewhere hardly anyone knows you and ignore all the fans that wanna see you… but 12 north american shows in 9 years is kinda rough… and not letting your fans know if the album will ever be released here is unfair… the moment they let me know it’s a no go will be the moment i look for it by other means…

well you’ve got a point there, but if you want to keep on waiting for that reason… go ahead!

actually i’m waiting to hear from the band… that’s why i agree with Michael A…

Alan wrote:

But regarding loads of bands with lower profiles than T? touring the States, is this because they’re young up-coming bands with record company money to spend?

no it’s not… i’m talking about independant bands that tour around making money from concert to concert just to get their name out…

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

buying it from a european shop would just go to show that there is no one in north america that wants t? cds… therefore the next and the next t? cds will not be released here as well… if they released the cds at the same time then you would be able to gage the demand from the north american market… you cannot do this now, and i would just be adding to this by purchasing it from the uk… if they ever do release it over here they won’t sell any copies now, cause all the fans have already purchased european copies…

and if you don’t believe me, then explain the fallout of t? in north american after troublegum… it took over a year for the north american release of infernal love compaired to the uk release… buy that time all the diehards had already purchased it from the uk…

and buying the album from the uk is not an option… besides the fact that it will be twice the price i would pay over here, why should i increase the uk sales while decreasing any north american sales if it ever is released over here?

and that link you provided is for the import version…
please get your facts straight…

It may sound cruel, but I think PanZer is right. The first matter of a recordcompany is money I guess, and they probably don’t see a business in it. I don’t think Therapy? can do anything about this, they do so much for their fans, show some respect please!

no doubt you are right… but when the band says they’ll get back to us and they don’t, well how do you expect us to feel?

if they got back to us in a timely manner and just said ‘sorry, there’s nothing we can do’ then i could point the finger directly at the record company (who they decided to sign with, i might add, but i digress)… but they have not gotten back to us when they said they would… therefore i understand how Michael A feels…

Re: Therapy? Frustration And The American Fans in General Therapy? Topics

we’re not talking about touring, we’re talking about releasing the album…

and don’t talk to me about touring… there are thousands upon thousands of bands touring right across north american that don’t even have the profile t? does, even if their profile has dropped quite a bit… how do you think most bands start out? if they really wanted to come here, they could… but they don’t… they’d rather do their ‘uk/belgium/holland/maybe one other country’ tour every year like they have from the past 5 years…

and yes i know they were in the states for 12 shows in 2001… i drove 6 hours to see them… and i’ve flown to scotland to see them too… i don’t need anyone here telling me i haven’t put my hard earned dollars or time into this band… if they can’t release the album here, then just tell us instead of leading us on… it sucks the record company might not release it here, it suck even more that t? told us they would look into it and we haven’t heard anything…

i, for one, 100% agree with you… i got into an arguement with half the people here about this when the album came out, and they said the same thing they’re saying now… and you and i know it’s bullshit… t? said they would try to work on it, and we haven’t heard anything since…

and buying the album from the uk is not an option… besides the fact that it will be twice the price i would pay over here, why should i increase the uk sales while decreasing any north american sales if it ever is released over here?

ya, i know it’s mostly the record company… but is it 100% of the record company’s fault? personally i don’t think so…

And I thought I paid too much for the Acetate of Infernal Love and that one is really worth it. It’s funny to hear that the intro’s and outro’s of David Holmes weren’t really necessary. 25 pounds still was a lot of money though.

you can also get this by getting the japan verion of IL… it doesn’t have the Holmes parts either… plus 2 bonus songs!

other side of the country really… about an hour away from toronto…

as for region 2 dvd players, not here… you have to buy a region 0 player, but even then most won’t play PAL dvd’s… i know there are ways to modify your player to play them…

Reverend Savage?, when/where are you moving to canada?

this brings up a good question though: rené, when you do get to sell the cd on the site, are the profits going directly to the band, or to spitfire? also, any idea as to if it will be cheaper to purchase off this site and shipping to NA compaired to us doing so through amazon.co.uk or something?

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics

rene, it wasn’t my intent to come off so hostile towards you, and for that i sincerly apoligise…

you did state that tk4two1 should be doing more to promote therapy? though, and since he is in north america like me, i do take it personally when someone suggests that north amercian fans don’t do anything, or they should be in any way responsible… tk4two1 or myself can’t call up local radio stations because the album isn’t over here… we can’t buy the dvd and play it for friends because it won’t play over here… sure, insulting the band won’t get anyone far, but to suggest north american fans should be more productive is wrong, especially when it is impossible for us to do so…

i’d also like to point out that tons of bands tour their asses off over here, playing small club after small club making a name for themselves… sure it can be tough, but this is how you build a fan base… besides 8 shows in 2001, the last time t? were over here is 1997… management aside, there’s no reason for this besides just not wanting to come back…

everyone around here likes to think of therapy? as angels or something, and they are great guys, but let’s be serious… if they really wanted to build their fan base in NA, if they really wanted to promote their new cds in NA, they’d be busting their balls around here playing shows… maybe they’re older now and don’t feel the need too, maybe they’re content with the success they’ve had, and that’s great for them… but it’s not great for the fans of NA and we should suggest otherwise, or lay blame on us…

also, this post is not to try to slam you again, or anyone else for that matter… i respect your opinion and all the work you’ve done for the band… i’m just trying to bring up valid points as to why NA fans have the right to feel the way they feel… we shouldn’t feel ashamed or hide the way we feel just because this is a therapy? board and therefore everything should be pro-therapy?… some may be afraid to speak the unpopular opinion, so i’m doing it for them… again, i apoligise if it comes off hostile, it has never been my intent, i’m just very passionite about the subject and therefore it has a tendency to come out the wrong way…

These are tough times for Therapy? so instead of insulting them or their management it might be more productive if you spent your energy trying to convince DJ’s to play the new album, your friends and family to buy it and the local promoters to book them for a gig. Just a thought.

how would you like me to get the local radio station to play the new album if it’s not being released over here?

also, for over 11 years i have done more then my fair share of promoting therapy? here… i’ve gone to every concert in toronto and dragged as many friends with me as possible, i’ve called radio and video stations countless amount of times, i’ve been to cleveland and scotland! to see them, i even use to run the ‘therapy? in canada’ website, and you don’t get much more involved in promoting a band then that, as you should know… so i don’t need anyone telling me to be more productive by doing the shit i’ve already been doing for over a decade…

also, i never insulted them (maybe others have, i’m just stating i haven’t)… i clearly stated that i feel they are PARTLY responsible and that something needs to be done about this problem… are they doing something? yes? well then great! if i didn’t say anything in the first place we might not have gotten anything from the band… so in fact, by stating my opinion on this matter i have also once again helped in promoting the band by letting them and others know that t? still have a fan base in north america and that we’re not happy with the way things are going…

and rene, this isn’t directly at you entierly, but anyone that feels that the opinions i’ve stated are wrong… i know therapy? aren’t as popular here and that really sucks, but for you to say that north american fans don’t have a right to feel the way they do, and to say that the band has 100% no fault in this and that we should be doing more to promote the band is complete bullshit…
