Re: Scopophobia (DVD & CD Collector’s Edition) in General Therapy? Topics

so region 2 fans get a second dvd that no one here is even gonna buy and region 1 fans get nothing? i’d bet they’d sell more region 1’s then they will of the special edition of the region 2’s… spitfire truely have their heads up their asses…

I don’t think I missed thepoint. I wasn’t trying to prove you wrong or anything. I was just curous that since you felt they weren’t doing enough, what you would like them to do/ what it is/was that you know they aren’t doing.

fair enough… i’ll admit that i’m pretty hot under the collar when it comes to this issue so i may just jump to some conclusions… i do realise that it is a label issue more than a band issue, but i still believe that the band is partly accountable…

and according to the news on the homepage when i logged in it seems like my complaints have not fallen on deaf ears and are trying to be addressed… and for right now that’s all i can ask for and i’m glad to hear something, even if it isn’t exactly what i want…

if anyone pasted these messages along to the band (teethgrinder, etc.) i thank you, as i’m sure many other north american fans do as well… a domestic n.a.n.e. release and a region 1 dvd would be really nice, but just hearing something is a whole lot better then yesterday…

i have no idea, that’s why i say “do what they can”… if they signed a contract for worldwide distrabution then they can try to get out of their contract legally since this is not happening… or they could just address the issue with their fans… i sure get a lot of emails from the band telling me how great the album is going to be… why not an email letting north americans know what the hell is going on?

but asking “like?” is really missing the point of what i am saying… i don’t have the solutions and i don’t need to… i’m a pissed off fan and i want accoutability… know what happens to pissed off fans? they say ‘fuck it’ and walk away from the band? is that what t? want?

you can kick us when we’re down, but that doesn’t mean we don’t kick back!

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics

it’s out of their hands to sign to a label that doesn’t want to sell their albums/dvds to fans in other parts of the world? they have a say because they signed with them… they are suppose to have worldwide distrubtion… worldwide is not just europe, it’s not just region 2… it is not out of their hands because it is their hands that signed the contract… if they gave a shit about north american fans they would have made sure we could get the product…

i’ve spent to much time, energy and money into this band to just say “oh well, i guess i can’t get the dvd”, “oh well, i guess i have to pay twice the price for the same cd everyone else is getting”… no, i will not stand by and do that… i will voice my concerns because this is how i feel, this is how many north american’s feel, and we should not hide how we feel just because we like the music…

they signed this shit, therefore they are accountable… either they walk around with shit on their hands or they do what they can to clean it off and make things right…

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics

i think i’ll buy whatever version of ebay… they don’t want to sell it in north america, then some dude on ebay can have my money instead of them…

no dvd and now no new cd over here… over 11 years listening to them and i get the shaft cause i live in canada? fuck you spitfire…

and shame on therapy? for allowing this to happen…
(and don’t give me any bullshit saying it’s out of their hands)

Re: Scopophobia Regional Coding in General Therapy? Topics

even thought the region code is 0 (region free), it’s still PAL, so it won’t play on North America players, right?

my dvd player says it will play region 0, but not PAL… i don’t have the dvd as i didn’t want to spend money on something i can’t use…

Re: Wouldn’t it be cool if for the new album Therapy? would… in General Therapy? Topics

many bands release self-titled albums… while usually it’s the first album, releasing a self-titled one at this point signifies a change in direction/spirit/thinking, which i think therapy? want/need to convey at this point… how many semi-funny album titles do we need by them… it’s time for a change!

Not a great idea.

no, it would be referred to as the self-titled album…

Quote (author unknown):

This was far from an easy decision to make as Martin has been an important part of the band for nine years but we feel that this is the best way to ensure a positive future for THERAPY?

this statement says it all… he was fired, asked to leave, however you want to say it…

question now is: why?

Re: Scopophobia Regional Coding in General Therapy? Topics

why would a store in the uk have a region 1, when i can’t find any in north america with it… seems fishy to me…

Re: Therapy? in the USA your thoughts.. in General Therapy? Topics

in order for t? to play summer festivals in NA, they have to not play summer festivals in europe, and we all know how they love their european festivals… as much as i agree that media/record label/fans need to promote t? over here, t? need to promote themselves over here as well… 12 shows in the northeastern states inbetween albums is not the right time or place to do a tour… let’s face it, t? are waiting for their popularity to grow in NA before they act, instead of acting and watching their popularity grow…

Re: i think my music tastes are changing… in General Therapy? Topics

who’s whining? i see an honest discussion about what people’s opinions are on the new album…

you think it’s good… good for you!

Re: i think my music tastes are changing… in General Therapy? Topics

so i’m on my 10th listen in the last 24 hours… haven’t listened to anything else… and i’ve listened to it in different ways (headphones, car, while on the computer, during sex - oh wait, not that one - yet! :D)…

the following i really like:
- who knows
- if it kills me
- rust

the following have been growing on me:
- hey satan
- not in any name

the following are blah:
- stand in line
- nobody here but us
- limbo

the following are shit IMO:
- watch you go
- my vodoo doll (agree with Alan, worst on the album)
- last blast
- never ending

so what’s that, 5 out of 12… not great… i know i should give it time, and i will, but on the songs i put in my ‘shit’ catagory i really can’t see getting into… i remember when sp-yf came out, i wasn’t really into that, but that was more because i wasn’t expecting it and never really heard something so agressive… so it wasn’t really the songs, although i hated 10 year plan & other peoples misery… now sp-yf is my fav. album, but i still don’t really like those 2 songs… what i’m saying is that as much as you can give an album time, sometimes you just know there are songs that are not going to grow on you no matter what… this album seems to have quite a few of those… :(

but maybe i’m just talking out of my ass and a month from now i’ll be saying how great the album is… we’ll see…

Re: i think my music tastes are changing… in General Therapy? Topics

um, no… i want less poppy, not more poppy… nickelcrap would really be going in the wrong direction… so far i’ve really only liked rust and if it kills me… so you can see, i really like the heavy stuff (sp-yf is my fav. album) and i’m not caring for the poppier stuff…

only time will tell…

i think my music tastes are changing… in General Therapy? Topics

Title: i think my music tastes are changing…

just picked up HA today… finally found a place in toronto that had it… anyway, i’m not crazy about it… there are a few good songs, but overall i feel the album is too pop-punky and is a step backwards… it just sounds to much like a poppy version of semi-detached with a bit of troublegum… it’s very radio friendly and not at all what i’m really into right now… i wasn’t crazy about shameless either, so i’m starting to beleive that, with everyone else loving this album, maybe it’s my music tastes that are changing… i’m not saying i hate the album, i just can’t get into it… maybe this will change after more listens (i’m on my 4th listen right now), but right now i’m not impressed at all…

just my honest opinion…

Re: Where did HA chart in your country? in General Therapy? Topics

it doesn’t come out in canada until may 20, but i’m sure it will be in the bottom 100 some where… they get NO promotion over here…

Why does everyone rate it next to Troublegum and Semi Detached ( and now High Anxiety )…

I really liked it at first but the muddy production is a bit annoying after a while…

I think the best albums are the ones Chris Sheldon has been involved in.

sp-yf is by far my fav. therapy album… hell, it’s in my top 5 albums of all time by anyone… there is no better album ever made that just says ‘fuck you’ all over it… it gets me so pumped when i feel like shit, and i just want to go out and destroy something… but since i’m a responsible person, the album gets that feeling across without me actually having to go to jail!

Re: Rank the songs on “Infernal Love” in General Therapy? Topics

why is it wrong? in japan there non-import cds cost more then the import ones, so in order to get them to buy home-made cds they put extra tracks on them… ya, it sucks if you don’t live in japan and you spend more to get these, but think about if you lived there…

i’ve read fight club, survivor and choke by Palahniuk… fight club was excellent, but i think i enjoyed survivor even more… it’s really fucking cool… i didn’t enjoy choke on the other hand… i heard they are making it into a movie though… pity, survivor would make an excellent film…
