Re: soulwax - leave the story untold in Other Bands & Artists

‘much against..’ is still amazing, but this one never really grew on me… someone out there will love this though…

and ya, ‘any minute now’ really isn’t growing on me… i haven’t even listened to it in a couple of months… maybe, just maybe, i’ll give it another spin this weekend ;)

soulwax - leave the story untold in Other Bands & Artists

Title: soulwax - leave the story untold

i know there are quite a few soulwax fans on here, so i thought i’d share that i’m selling the hard to find ‘leave the story untold’ cd… well, at least hard to find in north america…

Re: Worst Live Bands in Other Bands & Artists

soundgarden - molson park in barrie, ontario, canada
- mid 90’s, NIN openned and were awesome, but SG were terrible… we left half way…

Re: Soulwax - Any Minute Now in Other Bands & Artists

to me, ‘any minute now’ is the biggest disappointment of 2004 so far…

Re: On Andy’s request: your favourite Beatles album? in Other Bands & Artists

1. revolver - i wish i could explain why this is my fav. but i can’t… it just is…
2. abbey road - the best farewell album in the history of music…
3. white album - some of the greatest beatles songs ever, and some that should have been left out… would have made the best single album ever…
4. let it be… naked - the mixes on this album are just amazing… i hated the original, with it’s strings and shit… this is how it should have always sounded…
5. sgt. pepper - the whole is stronger then the sum of it’s parts… some songs are really great, others only work if you listen to the entire album at once…

Re: Year of the Rabbit in Other Bands & Artists

i don’t remember that show… too bad i missed it…
replicants has ken on vocals and greg on drums… failure was really just the 2 of them anyway, so it kinda counts… :) (although i don’t really think it’s all that great, save couple of songs)

Re: Year of the Rabbit in Other Bands & Artists

no flaming lips at the show i went to… just tool and failure in toronto in febuary 1994… i’ll always remember it because it snowed like hell and we almost didn’t make it… sure glad i did, as failure and therapy? have always been my fav. bands…

Re: Year of the Rabbit in Other Bands & Artists

nice to know there is another failure fan here… i’ve been listening to failure since 94 when i saw them open for tool… ON, ken’s solo project, kicks ass too…

so far i haven’t been as impressed with year of the rabbit… not to say i don’t like it, but it seems like a radio friendly version of failure…

have you checked out AUTOLUX, greg’s band? they are fantastic!

Re: fischerspooner in Other Bands & Artists

Title: electro

i like fisherspooner… in fact, i was listening to the cd today on my way to work… think early 80’s mets air’s ‘10,000 hz legend’ mets not knowing anything about music but making an album anyway… it’s pretty simple beats and mixes all thrashed together to make it not so simple… i’ve heard their live shows are something to be seen… more performance art then actually music really…

Re: Avril tries chop suey in Other Bands & Artists

that’s damn funny (but then, i never really liked the original)… it was obviously a joke… if you can make it all the way to the end the band says they’re sorry for doing that…

and she’s from canada… i’m sorry for that…

*sigh*

Re: led zeppelin in Other Bands & Artists

i am a great fan of their early stuff, but not so much of their later works…

i don’t think they are old hippies… but then, i’m not more punk orientated…

Re: favourite band from your country? in Other Bands & Artists

excellent question…

while i don’t care for most canadian music, i love hayden, as well as tegan and sara… both are kinda acoustic/folky/pop so they may not be everyones cup of tea here, but i really like them…

correct… the new foo fighters song is a rip off of ‘add it up’ by the femmes… you can sing most of the femmes lyrics to the new foos song…
