to Brendon: yeah Hayden released a new album last month… it’s only in Canada right now, so you’d have to order it from the net (and with the exchange rate it should cost ya next to nothing)…
anyway, the album is brilliant… many reviews are saying his best ever… if you want to download a couple of songs first, find: streetcar, dynamite walls, & bass song (which is about Hayden being murdered!)

to innocentx: i really like the new depeche mode… i think with all the ‘garbage’ that’s come out over the past little while, it was nice to buy an album that sounded familiar and reminded me of music i used to listen to… same reason why i really like the new order disc…
oh, and kid a by radiohead was in my top ten for last year… amnesiac on the other hand: not so good…

this would be my top ten, in order… some actually came out last year, but i didn’t pick it up until this year… i don’t think anything good is supposed to be released between now and the new year, so i don’t see this changing much:

2 aliens land in the desert, right beside an abandoned gas station… they get out of their spaceship and walk up the gas pumps, thinking they are a life form, and the first one says ‘take me to your leader’… the gas pump doesn’t answer… the first one says again ‘take me to your leader or i’ll vaporize you’… the gas pump still doesn’t answer… so the second alien says to the first alien ‘i think he’s mean’… the first one says to the gas pump again ‘take me to your leader or i’ll vaporize you’… again the gas pump doesn’t answer so the first alien pulls out a gun and shoots the gas pump… of course there’s still some gas in the pump so there’s this huge explosion and the aliens end up flying in the air and landing a mile away from the explosion… lying in the sand the second alien says to the first ‘i told you he was mean’, and the first one says ‘how did you know’… the second one replies ‘anyone that can wrap their dick around their neck and put it in their ear is mean’

it’s only not funny to you because you don’t know how to take a joke… great sense of humour you got on you… you only find our own jokes funny…

AND if you read my post again you will see that I said that pee wee’s big adventure IS funny…

BTW, i agree with you that the 2 movies you stated are funny as hell, AND i even agree with you on what you are saying about your writing (considering i write myself)… just take a joke man… you’ve been more then willing to dish them out over the last 8 days, trying taking some as well…

i’m into both types of football… i’ve played soccer for 18 years, and still do (i’m playing indoor at the moment)… and i watch Canadian Football all the time (which is kinda like American Football (NFL) but only better)… and i also try to work-out, but that’s not really a sport, more like a chore… oh, and since i’m Canadian i of course watch hockey…

i have the 2nd one, great stuff, and i’ve heard clips of the new one and it seems just as good…

of course the media is going to show the people that are against the USA. it hardly makes for a good story to show the thousands upon thousands of afghans that are running for the boarders and eating the food that the USA is supplying… it’s a much more interesting story to see the people that are actually deify the USA (and most of the world at this point).

as with almost everything in society it’s always the vocal minority that seems like a majority… there are more afghans running away and using the USA’s aid then burning flags and Bush dolls… and i don’t think Bush is giving aid to change peoples minds about him… he may be a stupid man, but he’s not stupid enough to think that afghans are going to love him if he gives them food… but he does give them aid anyway because he’s fighting a war on bin laden and maybe the Taliban itself, but not on the people of Afghanistan…

i’m really not trying to picks sides here between the ‘US is great’ and the ‘US is worse’ groups that are forming here… i’m trying to show that it’s not as ‘black & white’ as everyone is making it out to be…

YES the US acts for selfish reasons (like every other country)… YES the US sells guns and helps dictatorships… YES many people hate the US for interfering in their affairs… YES the US is promising to start paying back the money they owe the UN in order to get support…

BUT

YES the US gives tons & tons of money for foreign aid… and YES the US sends peace keepers all around the world to protect the innocent… and YES the world would be mighty fucked if the US ever decided to do what Brendon suggests; pulling all their troops and cutting off all the counties of aid and money…

just as Nausea and Messiah have made valid points and ‘facts’ arguing one said, so does Brendon agruing the other… why one side has to be totally right and the other be totally wrong is beyond me…

i don’t understand why everyone is so ‘black and white’ about this… has anyone thought for a minute that both opinions might be right… that the USA acts for both selfish and non-selfish reasons…

do we have to choose sides on who is right, brenden or messiah?

i’m all for debating the wrongs of what happened in new york, but this has just gotten stupid…

what i think ‘turnandface’ is saying is that he doesn’t feel joy that people died, but he does that the pentagon/america was hit… unfortunately he doesn’t realize that there is no way you can separate the two… if you destroy a building with innocent people in it, regardless of if that building is a symbol to you or not, you destroy the people that are in the building…

i have shed tears every time i have read the above quote… i can’t even comprehend what this mans wife is going through, and the tens of thousands of others in the US and around the world…

you feel joy for a building being destroyed because of the symbolism, yet you feel said for the innocent people that have died… well your joyful symbol killed those people, and you are a selfish, ignorant, immoral person for confusing the two…

i don’t want to be taken down to the level of name calling… that is not what i’m doing… i’m just stating a fact, a fact i think (almost) every person on this board wants to say to you…

to have any little secert joy over this makes you a sick, sick, individual…

i’m not so sure it will be an all out war like people will think… it wasn’t a country, and so the US will have a much harder time trying to wage a war on a group of terrorists… it will depend on who did it and where they are located and the relations the US has with that country and their allies…

since i’m in toronto maybe i have more information to give… this is what i know…

2 planes hit the world trade centre towers… both towers have now fallen to the ground…

a 3rd place hit the pentagon… no word yet on how bad…

a bomb went off on capital hill in wasington… no word yet on how bad…

a car bomb when off in front of the state building in washington… no word on how bad…

a 4th plane has gone down outside pittsburg… no word on how bad

a 5th plane has gone down close to camp david, which is the presidents retreat… no word on how bad…

of the five planes, one had about 100 people, another had about 60… the other 3 i don’t know…

the world trade centre has about 50,000 people that work there… no word yet on how many people have died, but they are saying well into the 1000’s…

that’s about all i know right now… well that and that the world is indeed a sick place at times…

oh, and another thing… today is international peace day around the world…

Title: England & Spain

this Thursday I’m going on vactaion for 2 weeks, one is England and the other in Spain… In England I will be in Brighton for a bit, and London for the rest… as for Spain I will be in Barcelona for the most part…

anyway, can anyone recommend anything for my girlfriend and i to do in either of these two places (especially Spain) that is not already is every guide book… what i mean is that, if you’ve gone to spain/barcelona, what did you really like, what’s worth doing too, what’s not worth doing, is taking a trip down to Valencia worthwhile, or somewhere else??

as for England, i think we’re ok for the most part, but if you want to recommend anything please do so… thanks for any help…

i’m looking forward to the new Sense Field album out at the end of this month… also, bjork has been around for a while, and she still hasn’t dissapointed me yet. her new album is amazing… and, of course, Shameless looks like it may be the best since Troublegum… at least, i hope it is…

the same children that are getting bombs thrown at them today will be the same that throw them tomorrow… how is this suppose to stop when fighting and war is how the children have learned to deal with their problems?

the problem is that as humans we feel the need to make ourselves feel better, and the best way we know how to do this is to put down those that are different… religion, race, sex, sexuality, etc., will always be used as tools to belittle others in order to make us feel good about ourselves…

there will never be such a thing called peace if we continue to celebrate our differences instead of our similarities…

oh, donVutz, this is how it works… the ‘no active transfers’ just means you are not downloading anything at the moment… but as long as it says that you are connected to a server, then you’re cool… so then you hit that big GO button and your browser loads up and you can start looking for stuff… when you find something you want click the icon of the Satellite and it will sent it to your queue… once it’s in there it will start downloading the song right away if it’s available… if it doesn’t start downloading it will tell you why (either it’s offline or it’s behind a firewall)… once it starts downloading you will see in your satellite (the small grey window with ‘no active transfers’ and the GO button) the progress of the file being transfered…

i think that’s it… i’ve only been using it for a week myself so i may have missed a thing or two…

hey Opal, how do you have the b-sides labels, as i can’t seem to find them on audiogalaxy… also, i’m behind a firewall, are you? hope not, or i can’t get at them…

i’ve used KaZaA, which is part of Morpheus I beleive… it’s really good for mainstream stuff, but nothing rare…

so far i haven’t been totally impressed with audiogalaxy… it’s the best one out there i think, but it’s search function sucks… and depending on how one person labelled their mp3, it keeps a record of it, so a search for Therapy? brings up way too many listings for the same song…

oh well, i guess you shouldn’t complain if it’s free…

Air, ON, Dashboard Confessional, Sense Field, Sigur Ros, Quicksand/Rival Schools, EMF…

and some band named Therapy?… ever heard of them?
