Re: Original vs Acoustic versions in General Therapy? Topics
the acoustic version of opal mantra is by far my favourite… but i don’t think any of the acoustic tracks are actually better then the original…
but as far as the new recordings go, diane is way better then the original… and the rest are killer as well…

Re: New Single What Next??? in General Therapy? Topics
this one’s for you is the only reasonable choice, i think… maybe dance, if they didn’t have the ‘welcome to fuckland’ line in it, which basically ruins the entire song (maybe some of you like it, but i think it’s entirely stupid)…
as for b-sides i’d like to hear some new stuff… covers, acoustic and live stuff are fun, but there’s not much creativity to it… i want to hear the songs that didn’t make the album…

Re: The Tea Party: new cd is fabulous! in Other Bands & Artists
wow, you’re into more Canadian bands then I’m into… I’m very impressed… how did you get into all of them?
yes, labatt is very good, and i like moosehead as well… canadian doesn’t do it for me though…
as for canadian women, i don’t think there is much of a difference… you just have a larger ‘talent’ pool to draw from… but per capita i’d think it’s about the same…
as for Degrassi, that show rocked… but yes, most Canadian television is pretty bad, but there are a few gems in there…
and yes i do silly-walk!!!

Re: The Tea Party: new cd is fabulous! in Other Bands & Artists
we tried to not let her out, but she escaped to the US and buddied up with Madonna and Kevin Smith (Kevin, what are you thinking)…
If you think Alanis is bad now, you should have heard her pop stuff ten years ago… oh, the horror…

Re: The Tea Party: new cd is fabulous! in Other Bands & Artists
born in a crash was an import, so of course it’s more expensive… but anything that’s domestic is usually cheaper then anywhere else… i’ve seen BranVan 3000 for $14 many times, and with the exchange rate that’s about $9… doesn’t get much cheaper then that… usually when i go down to the states the sticker prices on CD’s are the same as up here, but when i do the exchange conversion it’s much more expensive in the US…
i’m glad to hear you like our music though… what CDN bands are you into?
and as for our cigarettes, i can’t comment on that as i don’t smoke (although i’ve heard you are right), but our beer is soooooo much better then American beer… US beer is like making love in a canoe: fucking close to water.

Re: The Tea Party: new cd is fabulous! in Other Bands & Artists
hey, what’s wrong with ordering it in Canada??? :)
considering we have some of the cheapest CD prices in the world, it shouldn’t be a problem… (except for the shipping i guess)

Re: wouldn’t it be nice to get for Christmas! in General Therapy? Topics
but the question would be: who’s going to put it out? Ark21 can’t seem to pay their bills, never mind promote t? or make a dvd…
for Christmas I’d like to hear that t? drop Ark21 and sign with someone a little more stable… record companys folding have been known for causing bands folding…

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics
while there are some t? songs i don’t think are that great, i can listen to them no problem, BUT there is only 1 song (that I can think of off the top of my head) that i can’t even get though one listen… i must skip it every time, i hate it that much:
Other People’s Misery

Re: Which is you favourite b-side? in General Therapy? Topics
I’m almost postive the OUR LOVE MUST DIE that everyone is talking about is on the following CD’s:
1. Stories re-issue
2. Fan Club CD
3. Dead Laughing
the Stories re-issue and the Fan Club CD are from the same concert of Dead Laughing… I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not…

Re: Babyteeth or Pleasure Death? in General Therapy? Topics
without a doubt Babyteeth is better… being in Canada we only had CS as well, and the first half is sooo much better… now that I have both the albums seperate I find I actually listen to just Babyteeth instead of CS, but if I want to listen to pleasure death, I usually just listen to CS all the way through…

souljacker by EELS in Other Bands & Artists
Title: souljacker by EELS
i seem to remember many of the people on this board like EELS…
what do ya think of the new album?
when it first came out they were saying it was all ‘hard’ and everything, and while it’s a bit edgy-er then previous stuff, i wouldn’t say it’s ‘hard’…
teenage witch, bus stop boxer & women driving, man sleeping are standouts for me at the moment… the later being the best…

Re: Why is Therapy? important for you? in General Therapy? Topics
the fact that every album has it’s own unique sound… i hate it when a band releases an album that sound just like the one before… sure, not all of t?s albums are amazing, but no matter what i feel like listening to, there’s always at least 1 t? album to suit the mood…

Re: - SHAMELESS - in General Therapy? Topics
i think the new album falls right in the middle of t? releases… better than I.L and SD, but not as good as Troublegum, Nurse, and SP-YF…
but then again, 6 months from now all of us could be singing a different tune… it took me almost 6 months to really appreciate SP-YF…
and I like Body Bag Girl… that with Stalk & Slash and This One’s For You are my top 3 right now…

Re: Terrovison when will it come for T? ?????? in General Therapy? Topics
for some reason i see therapy? being around for a while longer… they’re always talking about their renewed interested in music and rock n roll, and i just can’t see them doing anything else… i could forsee a break-up and then getting back together, but i think they may be around for a while yet… at least, i hope so!!!

Re: the ideal crash in Chit-Chat
Nausea, there is your problem right there: ‘watch the t.v. read the papers, they’re burning flags and bush dolls’
of course the media is going to show the people that are against the USA. it hardly makes for a good story to show the thousands upon thousands of afghans that are running for the boarders and eating the food that the USA is supplying… it’s a much more interesting story to see the people that are actually deify the USA (and most of the world at this point).
as with almost everything in society it’s always the vocal minority that seems like a majority… there are more afghans running away and using the USA’s aid then burning flags and Bush dolls… and i don’t think Bush is giving aid to change peoples minds about him… he may be a stupid man, but he’s not stupid enough to think that afghans are going to love him if he gives them food… but he does give them aid anyway because he’s fighting a war on bin laden and maybe the Taliban itself, but not on the people of Afghanistan…
i’m really not trying to picks sides here between the ‘US is great’ and the ‘US is worse’ groups that are forming here… i’m trying to show that it’s not as ‘black & white’ as everyone is making it out to be…
YES the US acts for selfish reasons (like every other country)… YES the US sells guns and helps dictatorships… YES many people hate the US for interfering in their affairs… YES the US is promising to start paying back the money they owe the UN in order to get support…
BUT
YES the US gives tons & tons of money for foreign aid… and YES the US sends peace keepers all around the world to protect the innocent… and YES the world would be mighty fucked if the US ever decided to do what Brendon suggests; pulling all their troops and cutting off all the counties of aid and money…
just as Nausea and Messiah have made valid points and ‘facts’ arguing one said, so does Brendon agruing the other… why one side has to be totally right and the other be totally wrong is beyond me…

lost songs in General Therapy? Topics
Title: lost songs
for all those that haven’t been to Evil Elvis’ site (http://www.suicidepact.com) in a while, i found this info. on lost songs… very interesting…
Bonkified (this became Alrite)
Taxi For Me (this became Body Bag Girl - ‘…though in a very
different form’—Michael McKeegan)
Jimmy Tangas (this became Tango Romeo)
Swine (this became Sister)
Thunder IA (this became Big Cave In)
Holly Hunter’s Hands (this became Six Mile Water)
Titanic (this became Lonely, Cryin’, Only)
More Than Perfect (this became Safe)
Nobody Here But Us (Semi-Detached left over, ‘still floating around in our minds for future user’—Martin McCarrick)
Pride of No-one (Semi-Detached left over?)
Glen Miller (‘There is a demo of it somewhere from the Infernal Love sessions. It’s pretty shite if truth be told. It was just a poppy riff and chorus I was messing about with and the producer, Al Clay, liked it, so we recorded a version of it with the band. It doesn’t really sound like Therapy? and the chorus goes something like, ‘this is the loneliest place in the world’. It’s actually a bit m.o.r.! I haven’t got a version of it myself and if you ever see it, unless you collect absolutely everything, I would suggest giving it a wide berth. It truly is awful.’—Andy Cairns)
Kiss Me On A Ghost Train (played a few times on the Semi-Detached tour, ‘a demo recorded when we were looking for a new deal. It got us a deal, but never made an album’—Martin McCarrick)
Other items that have been mentioned but never materialised were a few promised EPs, a long-form video, and the 30-minute Speed(o) Menace video. Regarding this last one, Martin says: ‘[It] isn’t finished yet and has been put on

Re: the ideal crash in Chit-Chat
i don’t understand why everyone is so ‘black and white’ about this… has anyone thought for a minute that both opinions might be right… that the USA acts for both selfish and non-selfish reasons…
do we have to choose sides on who is right, brenden or messiah?
i’m all for debating the wrongs of what happened in new york, but this has just gotten stupid…

Re: the ideal crash in Chit-Chat
what i think ‘turnandface’ is saying is that he doesn’t feel joy that people died, but he does that the pentagon/america was hit… unfortunately he doesn’t realize that there is no way you can separate the two… if you destroy a building with innocent people in it, regardless of if that building is a symbol to you or not, you destroy the people that are in the building…
Captain Tom McGee, New York City Firefighter, said ‘I can’t find any of my men. I don’t know where they are. The last think I heard over the radio was, ‘Tell my wife I didn’t make it out and I love her.”
i have shed tears every time i have read the above quote… i can’t even comprehend what this mans wife is going through, and the tens of thousands of others in the US and around the world…
you feel joy for a building being destroyed because of the symbolism, yet you feel said for the innocent people that have died… well your joyful symbol killed those people, and you are a selfish, ignorant, immoral person for confusing the two…
i don’t want to be taken down to the level of name calling… that is not what i’m doing… i’m just stating a fact, a fact i think (almost) every person on this board wants to say to you…
