Re: Rediscovering Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics
Hey guys, thanks for replying. Don’t worry, I don’t take any offense to the comment re: the vocals, especially considering I was just the drummer! ha ha. And besides, you weren’t rude about it (hate that!). I posted the link basically to show the Fyfe Ewing influence in my playing at the time, although I definitely have lots of different drummers I’m influenced by. Yes, I occasionally get to play but not nearly as often as I’d like. The last thing I did was play on my friend’s two cd’s that came out last year and a few years before that. She’s a singer/songwriter/pianist so it’s not anything remotely heavy, but she is a very close friend and incredibly talented so I jumped at the chance to go in and play on the records. The studio we record at in RI is owned and operated by a guy that did all my old band’s stuff so I’ve known him for close to twenty years. He did a pretty well known album recently by the band Battles, which features John Stanier from Helmet on drums, so he does an incredible job with any recordings. My friend’s name is Leah Carlson (leahcarlson.net). So anyway I was getting bored listening to most of the music I have and just thought of Therapy?, wondered how they sounded. I’m going to buy Crooked Timber when I get the chance. I’ll admit, some of the songs I’ve heard are kind of cheezy sounding but then I’ll hear something that makes me go wow that’s a great riff! I can’t explain it, there’s something I like about the band that has made me still listen to them all these years. I’ve been looking for my old cd of Infernal Love but can’t find it, and wonder if maybe I gave it away a long time ago or it got lost in the recent move! I’d like to give that cd another chance. Anyway, thanks for the welcome guys. -Sean

Rediscovering Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics
Hi guys, I’m new to the board but have been a fan of the band since Troublegum came out. After Infernal Love, I kind of lost interest in the band, don’t remember why. Recently I was getting bored with the music I usually listen to so I popped in Troublegum again and ended up downloading So Much For The Ten Year Plan and I really love Bad Karma follows you around. Just watched a few videos the band posted on the site and I’m impressed, it’s making me want to go out and buy all their cd’s. I’ve been a drummer since age three and have been lucky enough to have been in a few bands, do some recording and play some shows. When I was around nineteen Fyfe’s drumming was a big inspiration for me, very similar in a way to John Stanier from Helmet at the time. I know a lot of people have been wondering whatever happened to Fyfe and I’m definitely one of them. Anyway, now that I’m 35, a Firefighter, married with a toddler, I don’t get to play music nearly as much as I would like. If anyone is interested in my old band’s music, someone actually posted our old cd on a music blog for free to download. You might even be able to hear the Fyfe influence! Here’s the link. http://mindintrusion.blogspot.com/2010/03/beltaine-crowning-caged-kid.html Thanks!
PS- There’s also an unreleased cd of ours on that same site from around ‘95.
