Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics
i think when shameless came out it was quite obvious spitfire didnt give a fuck about the release in the states as there was fuck all promotion, jesus ark 21 at least had a few stickers and shit around the place when they released ten year plan ,but i was on the street team over here for the shameless release and basically all the company wanted me to do was to put posters up of every other band on spitfire that had releases and there was nothing about therapy at all, i remember havin a great pow wow via email with the street team guy from spitfire which ended with me getting booted off the team which was quite hilarious put me right in my place.:) if ya search the threads i think i pasted the emails here at the time of all that stuff, basically spitfire is unwilling to put the money into promoting them over here and rather would rely on the european hardcore fan base that is already there to sell too. unfortunate but sure thats life

Re: US street team in General Therapy? Topics
well, I guess the higher ups just passed the mail down to Scott Meyer who sent this mail
Notes from the past:
4/10 Sent package today
3/18 sent package of fliers, BLS stickers and overkill posters to test, those who don’t send pics or prove thier work one way or another will be cut.
I have seen no pictures of fliers, posters, stickers that you have “helped” in any way shape or form.
These are some Street Team stipulations:
1. When I mail out POP, posters etc, I need pictures of it. Even examples of you handing out fliers etc…
Street Team Champ,
Scott Meyer
So basically I got axed from the TherapY? street team without ever recieving one mail, sticker or flyer from THerapy? nice work spit fire. I reacon thats the end of that so.

I was actually about to send some stuff out between being swamped, doing a million other things, and working with a very LOW budget for Therepy. But since now, I can see your a complete impatient asshole, how about, you get JACK SHIT now.
This is the mail i sent to the VP just now
Dear Dennis,
My name is Dara Guiney, and I have been a member of your street team for quite some months now. This involved me passing out flyers, putting posters in record stores and at shows I attended. The promotional meterial I issued on behalf of spitfire was not for the band who I signed up for to promote but I thought in fair decency of a decent record label, I would be happy to distribute this material.
The band I signed on to promote was Therapy?, so I was concerned when I seen the album available in the Boston area, but with no promotion. I sent an email (which I have included) to Scott Meyer asking him of his awareness of this and hoping that I could be involved in promoting the new album.
I sent this email on the 5/22/03 and recieved no reply, so today I sent another mail (which I have included) which was more abrupt and displayed my disheartenment at not recieving a reply. I almost recieved an instant reply from Scott Meyer (which I have included) explaining how he was just getting ready to send a pack out to me but seeing as I’m a “complete impatient asshole i get jack shit”.
I am to understand form this that I have been removed from the street team for the reason of being concerned about my band and that Mr Meyer assumes I am just looking for free swag and nothing more. Granted i’m not one to refuse free swag but my whole point on being on the street team was to promote a band whom I have believed in and whom I believe will do well in the US market. So basically Dennis what I’m asking of you is some clarification or understanding of this matter. As I dont deem myself to be labelled an asshole out of concern for a band.Nor do I wish to be removed form the street team
Regards
Dara
Im a bit confused at the moment was I being an asshole for wanting the label to promote the band?
I dont get it. Any input would be helpful

US street team in General Therapy? Topics
Title: US street team
Well well high anxiety out in the US with not a blink of a flyer or sticker in sight, not even a prominent placing in the record store. this is what i wrote to spitfire.
Dear Scott.
Dara here, just a quick note to say im not too thrilled about posting flyers stickers etc all around the boston area and today find the Therapy? high anxiety album in my local store with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever. I agreed to promote other bands on your label but i signed up for the Therapy? street team and have not heard anything. Please do not repeat the ark21 stance of zero promotion (correction they had stickers in the stores at least) in the US as it didnt help anyone. I trust you will clarify this matter.
regards
Dara
