Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat

I only started watchin Lost less than a year ago, and that’s how I did it - complete series binges on Virgin On Demand. It’s frustratin havin to wait a week between episodes now.

Butters, you’ve probably heard this from other sources but you really should purchase the first four seasons of The Wire on box set… I can’t even begin to describe how yeltnib it is. Only season 5 to go for me, its not on DVD ‘til September tho and the streams I’ve found of it are unreliable… don’t want to ruin it

The fact that you didn’t make any transfers makes it all the more impressive.

Hopefully they’ll be able to do some kind of transfer of the funds so you won’t have to have an awkward ‘meetup’ where hard cash changes hands :)

As predicted, that is indeed what’s happening. I’ve to call in on Thursday evening, negotiate my way past security etc. “Yes, I used to work here but now I’m back for some money” - they’ll be patting me down for a semi-auto :-/

^I know - that would be so cringeworthy. I’d probably be happy enough to let it go to be honest if there wasn’t a potential £200 at stake!

Re: WOMble Fantasy Football League 07/08 in Chit-Chat

I know :-( But the flip side is, would it have been any better to stay in touch just to fleece them for some cash??

I knew this day would have to come - such a quandary! ;-(

Re: WOMble Fantasy Football League 07/08 in Chit-Chat

Yeah… it’s a bit of a can of worms actually - because it was in my old job, I’m not sure whether the guy that was running it was still collectin money off everyone every month etc. I left that job back in August last year, and haven’t really kept in touch with the lads that worked there (last time I saw any of ‘em was Christmas). Anyway, I’ll send off a few “friendly” texts tomorrow - at the very least I want the money I put in back!! :-/

It hasn’t been updated yet (no automatic subs etc). I’ll post the table when it has.

I think it’s safe to say that Andrew Campbell is the WOMble Champion ‘08 though

Since my 2005 post at the top of this thread, I’ ve got into them a lot more - seen them live a couple of times etc. I really liked ‘Fall Heads Roll’, but haven’t enjoyed the last two as much

Re: Therapy? Belast Pilgrimage, where to go? in General Therapy? Topics

I began to doubt myself a bit there, so did a bit of research – but Conor Hall is indeed demolished:

http://avramdesert.blogspot.com/2007/01/conor-hall-acrylic-on-car … 5-now.html

Strange, I never got to see a gig in there. Closest I came was going to see Atari Teenage Riot there circa 1999, but they had to cancel cos one of the band members was arrested for a drug offence beforehand or something. There a lot of other legendary gigs there apart from Therapy? (Nirvana etc). Shame.

As for the studio, I lived on the Lisburn for 5 years and never came across a recording studio – it’s probably long gone or else been turned into something else.

So I think The Mandela, The Limelight, and City Hall are your best bets Pascoa.

Re: Therapy? Belast Pilgrimage, where to go? in General Therapy? Topics

PS I think Conor Hall at the Art College and the studio on the Lisburn Rd have both been demolished now - but you can still see where they were I guess

Re: Therapy? Belast Pilgrimage, where to go? in General Therapy? Topics

All Alan’s suggestions are good.

You could also call into the Mandella Hall at Queen’s University - Therapy? usually play there when they’re turing now. That’s where Scopophobia was filmed as well.

Andy is actually from a town called Ballyclare, which is about 10 miles north of Belfast. That’s where Six Mile Water is etc.

Also, if you’re in Belfast you’ll probably be seeing the City Hall anyway, and you can think of The Six Mile Water line when you’re there:

“Like the night we took the mad acid, swore we saw the City Hall on fire…”

Enjoy! :-)

Re: Please Help! - My Brain Has Failed Me in Chit-Chat

^I loudly guffawed in the office at that!

Whatever it is, it must be incredibly obscure.

Are you sure you didn’t dream it?

Re: Please Help! - My Brain Has Failed Me in Chit-Chat

It’s reminding me of this one a bit

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066815/

But it’s not. Are you sure it was coffee and tea that was being poisioned? This is becoming an itch I can’t scratch!! :-(

I used to have to answer random questions like this in my old job all the time. This one guy in the office was really good at getting them.

I had a go there, best I could find was Children of the Corn as well (set in Maine, made in 1984, and involves posioned coffee).

Can you remember any other details? Especially key words?

And it does sound sh*t alright

I’m enjoying the whole album now. The artwork looks class as well

Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat

Aw man. That’s bad! It was the one on RTE Two last night - for some reason it’s not blocked even though it’s the same episode Sky One shows nearly a week later.

In fact a few WOMbles might find that above fact of interest :)

Re: Nine Inch Nails in Other Bands & Artists

Heard a few of the songs earlier, I like the mellow instrumental stuff but the booming synth drum beats ones I don’t (and I think they’re gonna sound dated really quickly).

Glad to see Trent’s keeping up his tradition of naming songs after Twilight Zone episodes though (“The Four of us Are Dying”).

In my old flat I used to be kept up all night by people drunkenly playing Guitar Hero and - even worse - Singstar at full blast.

Soon stopped when I hid the plastic guitars / mics tho :-)
