nice pun there.

After that I noticed “rain hits concrete” so I looked “skyward” before running inside where it was “safe”… etc etc ;-)

Re: Congratulations Mr & Mrs. McKeegan! in General Therapy? Topics

I hadn’t listened to Therapy? in ages, but yesterday I was blasting Music Through a Cheap Transitor the whole way to Ikea… where I walked past the newly married happy couple about 30 seconds after getting out of my car :-)

Weird!

Re: how much money have you spent on t? in General Therapy? Topics

I’m movin house at the minute, and was thinking this very question when I saw the amount of t? stuff i have… I would guesstimate:

T-Shirts: £120
Tickets: £100
CDs / Records: £380

So probably about £600. Never seen ‘em outside of Belfast so no travel money

Re: Therapy? page on last fm in General Therapy? Topics

I think the software works out a formula for similar artists fatboy* (something to do with people who listen to Therapy?s listening habits of unique similar artists or something).

Don’t like lastfm as much since the recent changes… they’ve tried to make it too social networky when it used to all be about the music maaan

*PS - I hate calling you that! Can’t you change yr user name? :-)

Re: Petition !! in General Therapy? Topics

I saw Blur around 2000 or so when they did their Singles tour in which they played every single they’d ever released in chronological order. Was quite boring after a while tbh, though it was funny how fast they rushed through The Great Escape tunes (think they were a bit embarrassed by them). They had to finish up with No Distance Left To Run as well which was a bit of a downer.

All Tomorrow’s Parties have been hosting Don’t Look Back concerts in London & New York for the past couple of years where bands play back classic albums in order and in full. They also have a stage at the Butlins ATP festival and Primavera Sound festival - I saw Slint do Spiderland in ‘07 at Primavera. This year was Public Enemy doing It’ll Take A Nation of Millions - would love to see T? do Nurse or something

When that message on the main page was posted on April Fools Day we should have known that you didn’t have 11 or so finished songs , that you weren’t going to do the producing yourself and that no recording would be done in May/June

I’d forgotten about that, haha! Oh well, we’ve got some song names to keep us going, and having Andy Gill on board is great news IMO.

Besides, this just gives us more time to babble about inane things on here… speaking of which, we need more fantasy footy teams to sign up!! ;-)

Re: Casey Jones Reaction Songs in General Therapy? Topics

These latest ones are very interesting as well. Marie Celeste reminds me a lot of The Black Heart Procession… lthough they were heavily influenced by Nick Cave, so I see where you’re coming from Kyle

Re: New album producer confirmed in General Therapy? Topics

^Nah, the only one I own is Entertainment!… you should get it though, it’s an absolute classic from beginning to end! The first song (Ether) is about Northern Ireland as well :-)

Saw Gang of Four a couple of summers ago too, they were awesome

@Mr S Destruct (from the locked thread) yeah you’re right, my mind is obviously stuck in the gutter! ;-)

Sisyphus was the guy who had to keep rolling a boulder up a hill for all eternity…

Re: “The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself” in General Therapy? Topics

Charles Mingus was a really talented free jazz musician, also famous for being a bit of a mental. Sisyphus is a sexually transmitted disease. Put the two together and you get… Mingusisyphus :-s

The Head That Tried to Stangle Itself reminds of the sleeve artwork for Suicide Pact - the guy’s head wrapped round with rope or something

Re: “The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself” in General Therapy? Topics

Wow - excited!! Entertainment! is one of my favourite albums of all time :-)

“I Told You I Was ill” is on Spike Milligan’s grave stone I think. “The Head…” is an interesting track name as well. So pleased to have some news, this is really good stuff!

I hope you are a soldier then :-/

Anyway, back on topic… probably the media release I’ve most looked forward to ever was the movie release of Silent Hill - I’d check the IMDB boards for it nearly every day for probably something like a year before it came out (sad, I know). Anyway, every little snippet of information or fact about the movie was endlessly picked over and argued about by all the hardcore fans until when it finally came out you couldn’t help but be disappointed. So I think this approach of media blackout (practically) from T? has the potential to work well.

A couple of things worry me about it (like Michael being messed up on Jagermeister that time to the extent where he could barely play) - I hope that all’s well in camp T?, and that if it’s not, they at least channel it all into a kick ass album ]-I

I know that sounds camp… eh… there’s not really much more I can add to that :-s

He has another video called “Joey” - it’s not the Therapy? song though.

That would just be too obscure ;-)

“Medbh Cheasty of You’re Only Massive believes that, as long as female artists are marginalised, “we may as well claim the margins as a space, but men and women are not that different ultimately and I don’t think there is a need to separate them, just to level out the playing field.”

Glad that’s cleared that up then

Where did you get this quote? I wiki-ed Graham Hopkins and it wasn’t there.

Go to the “history” tab at the top and look at the version before the one that’s there now.

Maybe he didn’t pay that band cos they’re shit.

Hasn’t been announced yet. I haven’t been since White Stripes / New York Dolls played a few years ago

Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

Haha, none of the days yet - like I say, I would head to the Flaming Lips day but I’m outta the country - back the next morning tho. If any of the two days remaining are decent I’ll head to them, there’s always Vital too of course!

Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

Custom House Square (where Therapy? played the the last time they played here). Only 2 of the days have been announced - one of them is Flaming Lips, Mogwai, Oppenheimer, and Jape - I’d go to that one but I’m outta the country. Another day is The Zutons or some shite. That leaves 2 whole days of lineups to go :-)

There’s a new festival in Belfast called Belsonic. It’s in August - I’m crossing my fingers that Therapy? will play a day at that.
