Re: WOMble Fantasy Football League 08/09 in Chit-Chat
“bintley” lol
This is my team… I’m sure it’ll change a lot in the next month and a half too. All depends whether Ronaldo, Adebayor, and Lampard hang about, and who else comes in.
Cech [che]
Ferdinand [mun], Terry [che], Wheater [mid], Baird [ful], Dunne [man]
Ireland [man], Modric [tot]
Torres [liv], Ashton [whm], Rooney [mun] (c)
subs - Scwarzer [ful], kranjcar [por], mendes [por], kilbane [wig]
I agree that Torres will be top scorer… will prob have a bet on it in fact. I think Portsmouth will have a good season too - FA Cup winners last year, and this year it looks like they’ll have a forward line of Crouch and Defoe

WOMble Fantasy Football League 08/09 in Chit-Chat
Yes, there’s 6 weeks to go. But that just gives us more time to get more entrants than the 32 we had last year!
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
This is the code you need to join this year’s WOMble league:
6445-2269
You can use the same log in details / password as last year if you have them. You can also change your team as much you want before 16th August, when the season starts.
Lets see if 5th Place Junomy can be toppled from their throne :-)
And WOMbles only please!

Re: T? Fans at Glastonbury Festival? in Chit-Chat
When I was there I wasn’t a fan of any of the bands playing, but it’s still the best festival I’ve ever been to.
I know most festivals say they’re “more than just music”, but with Glastonbury it really is true. Best craic was well away from the stages. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it next year, hopefully be back the year after tho

Re: T? Fans at Glastonbury Festival? in Chit-Chat
Were u not back a bit early Jordan?
I was there in ‘05, saw a guy walking past wearing a Therapy? “Have A Nice Day… In Hell” t-shirt and I also shouted manically after him as well, think I even offered him £20 for it. So maybe it’s Glasto tradition :-)

Is that why u haven’t been about man?
Just looking at those scorecasts I did above… I’m not confident about any of them :-/

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
I did 3 scorecasts:
£4 on Torres to score first and Spain to win 1-0 (25-1)
£2 on Podolski to score first and Spain to win 2-1 (80-1)
£1 on Torres to score first and Germany to win 2-1 (80-1)
I do mine online with Paddy Power, they have a special on it - if Fabregas scores in 90 mins, u get any scorecasts refunded. Who do you do yours with man?

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
I won £25 on Germany 2-0 Poland, but that’s it. I’ve made an overall loss of £35 (unless Klose comes up with the goods in the final).

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
Not good. He scored one last night - he’d basically need a hat trick in the final now :-(

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
I have a feeling it’ll go to extra time. My expenses didn’t come through this month (admin error) which has prevented me from throwing too much money away on this tournament. The only remaining bet I still have a chance of coming through is Klose to be top scorer (he’d need to score at least 2 tonight for that to realistic though).
Get paid tomorrow though, so i’ll prob have a punt at a scorecast for the final

Re: Happy midsummer fellow WOMbles! in Chit-Chat
I went out to a fire and drinking session on the outskirts of Belfast for it, was pretty good, never really got properly dark

There’s another 2 series to go!
Speaking of which… what’s happened to Butters? That’s the new mystery

Re: The Lisbon Treaty in Chit-Chat
I think if the Irish people are asked to vote again on basically the same thing then the No vote will win by even more

Re: England Supports Holland on 2008 football championship in Chit-Chat
Portugal 1-1 Germany (Germany win on pens)
Croatia 2-0 Turkey
Netherlands 2-2 Russia (Russia win on pens)
Spain 2-1 Italy (AET)

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
My major downfall recently was having Ronaldo as captain when Portugal had already qualified… he didn’t even play :’-(
Bet I wasn’t the only one

Re: The Lisbon Treaty in Chit-Chat
I think it was a great result. Especially as all the main parties were trying to bully people into voting “yes” when some of them haven’t even read the thing

^Hmm. I didn’t know Smog was in the soundtrack to that movie. I went to see Bill Callahan last year, it was a great show

Re: Turning the Significant Other into a T? Fan in Chit-Chat
My fiancée (feels weird typing that!) saw Therapy? in Glasgow Barrowlands on the Shameless tour (before I knew her)… but I made her a mix CD last year and she never listened to it. Gah!
She’s yet to experience my metamorphisis into a complete gibbering rock nerd when Therapy? are playing in town either :-)
