Re: Anticipated albums..(Who’s ready to step up?) in Chit-Chat

I think someone already mentioned Rage, but the most disappointed Ive ever been after waiting for an album was when I got The battle of LA, i just cant listen to that shite after waiting for it for so long. I have to say I was disappointed with SPYF too but Shameless seems more promising.

Re: American Psycho in Chit-Chat

Ive read the book and thought it was really funny, especially the bit when he has an erection staring at Bono on stage. Has anyone heard the song Patrick Bateman by the manics about the book? Its so cheesy

Re: Reading / Leeds festivals in Chit-Chat

I was at Reading, I thought Frank Black was amazing. I was only at the front for … trail of dead but decided to hang around for Frank - i forgot just how good he was. Did anyone catch Gary Numan’s show? It was hilarious.

Reading / Leeds festivals in Chit-Chat

Title: Reading / Leeds festivals

Did anyone here go? Queens of the Age were excellent, so many nude crowdsurfers, but I thought the band of the the weekend were the manics.

Re: I’m new here so i’d like to know… in Chit-Chat

It seems TOOL are nearly everyone’s band of the moment, myself included. What does everyone think of Jimmy eat world? Judging by the one song Ive heard they really remind me of troublegum era therapy?

Re: Tool in Chit-Chat

The term NU - metal came from loads of early 90s industrial bands naming Gary NU-man as their biggest influence. Probably.

Re: British people in Chit-Chat

Look, millions of people died so that you could have the right to vote so please, everyone who can, VOTE!
People don’t believe they can make a change with just one vote.
Even if its a protest vote like me: Rainbow George sez if he/shes elected he/she will declare Belfast an independant city state!

Re: ‘CHE’ IS A BIG ‘OL BRAINLESS METAL COCK in Chit-Chat

Incidently, in the NME this week Throat are said to be ‘from the north of Ireland and shit’ which i would pretty much go along with.

Re: If you can read… in Chit-Chat

Im doin a degree in English:

‘No Logo’ by Naiomi Klien (really inspiring, up to date)
‘The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott Fitzgerald (i had to read this for uni but its really, really surprisingly good)
‘The Wasp Factory’ by Iain Banks (really twisted, early T? type)
‘The Catcher in the Rye’ by JD Salinger
but most of all ‘Trainspotting’ by Irvine Welsh, even if youve seen the movie the book kicks ass

Re: My Papa’s a Roach in Chit-Chat

by the way, NME seem to be tipping Papa Roach but on the basis of the ‘last resort’ video i find them toe curlingly embarrassing (see also: linkin park).

Re: My Papa’s a Roach in Chit-Chat

Best albums of 2000: ‘Madonna’ by …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, ‘Levez vous skinny fists like atennas to heaven!’ by Godspeed You Black Emperor! and ‘Figure 8’ by Elliott Smith (i think that was 2000).

actually T? are probably the heavy band i still like. Oh yeah, Mer de Noms! i forgot, that rocks also
