Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I know where to get the downloads for free…
Anyway, Unforgiven 3 might not be so bad. Dream Theater have one song runnng through the last four albums.

The way it was phrased was like - robs done way more shit on one album than Jason did in 14 years.
Its always been obvious that Jason was not allowed to contribute and played what he was told… thats hardly his fault.
It just seems like James is chasing headlines at other peoples expense - he’s not stupid, he’s been in the business (and it is a business with Metallica) and he knows that it is gonna make a cute little soundbite.
What James actually said was no offence to Jason but Rob’s contributed more to this album than Jason did in 14 years, but that’s mostly our fault.
I’ll bet that little vignette at the end was left off in the quote…

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I agree with everything you just said. :|
I feel sorry for old school Metallca fans who have been waiting for an album like Death Magnetic since 1988 :P

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I’m sick of constantly reading ” Load and Reload are total cack “. Many many people actually prefer Load and Reload to their earlier output.
Me included.
You might as well say Infernal Love is total shit because its not the Therapy? we’re used to, which is not true either. Sure, it took some getting used to, after troublegum, ut given a proper listen with an open mind, you discover its actully got some gems on it.
Load and Reload included.
Everyfing afta justiss suckd coz its not metalllzzz YAWN

SO far this new album sounds like its placed somewhere between 88 and 91. Something for both type of fan.

Paint it black ? Me thinks That’s a rolling stones song ;). You’ll be wanting fade to black…
They said they wanted to write shorter songs as the crowd seemed bored with all the justice songs…metallica and kill em all both have classics and filler IMO.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
In your opinion.
In My opinin its dull, directionless, meandering, boring, bland…
And yes I do prefer TBA to Justice. I prefer Reload to Load, and Load to St. Anger ( but thats a given :P )

I’m going to call it now. This album will suck. Not that I want it to, but I’m tired of getting disappointed since that tragedy after and justice for all. .
:P Well if you think The Black Album, Load and Reload were ” Tragedies ” then you’re hardly going to like the new album, no matter how good it is.
I’m willing to bet youre one of those people who think AJFA is better than Master just because it’s ” more metal “. Despite it being horrendously meandering and boring.

Agreed - i’d rather have more lines like ” I am stronger than Mensa. Miller and Mailer, I spat out Plath and PInter ”
and less like ” Lovely labradors outnumber musicians “

A CD quality Download from Mission Metallica on day of release £8. Or physical CD album £10 and free postage. Not bad i think !

I’m looking forward to the next album. They said they wanted Steve Albini to do it. The very fact that they’re thinking about it makes me already imagine Holy Bible - esque rawness and shoutyness :D

I think Rob will bring something to the band. There’s a new Mission video of him playing some frankly amazing flamenco.

Not as cheesy as ” The Cruade “. I rather like it and think the name will sound better over time. :)
