Re: Oceansize in Other Bands & Artists
Who or what do they sound like ?
by the by - i read an interview with them in The Fly
and they seemed a bit up themselves - like they were saying
” oh, because we’re all such good musicians, we don’t use
the usual tricks that all other bands do - i could listen
to any record thats out now and tell you what trick they
are using to make you buy their record ” or some such
thing…

You cant actually buy Radiohead albums anymore - you have to buy a usb port from the website and have it installed into your brain - then connect yourself to your computer and you download the music directly into your mind.

I might still like the song no matter what ‘direction’ it’s in. The thing I didn’t like about God Save The Manics was the songwriting, which I found intolerably dull.
I’m more interested in the new Belle & Seb, Coral and Radiohead songs on the album though, to be fair.
Apparantly the radiohead track is johnnygreenwood hitting his guitar with a violin whilst feeding sheet music into a paper shredder - thom yorkes lyrics are something like :
” oh - the agony ! wolves and shit and doors that open and close - i’m scared of the future blah blah blah - we used to be good y’know “

But there was still way better acts at merucury, for example antony and the johnsons, Polar bear (hehe).
The mercury this year was worse than ever.
Maximo park were especially awful.
Only decent band were Kaiser Chiefs.

I think part of the fact is that it winds you up too easily. If you like them you like them, i’m sure half of the things i own i would get abuse over so don’t worry. I personaly don’t think they have done anything of worthy in ten years but that is just me. I always thought the b-sides were the best songs.
Dont believe the truth IS the best album in 10 years YES.
The Masterplan is a great album YES.
They are far from being the worst british band.

I don’t like slipknot anymore, but songs like circle, vermillion and vermillion pt 2 were fantastic songs.
I really am not in a thrash mood at the moment.
Its produced by Rick Rubin and not that “swearing is good ” twat ross robinson.
It sounds like a band rather than a bunch of guys getting together to make noise and swear.
PLUS - there is NOT ONE swear word on the whole of Volume 3 !!! :D
