I mean, the CD version of DM does have its faults, no one could deny that, but get over it folks - it’s not like the album is unlistenable.
Sorry to dissapoint you - I know how you love to take pot shots - but it actually wasnt me.

You wouldnt say that if you heard the GH3 versions. They’re a hundred times BETTER.

I will always buy CD’s. I like having something to look at and a disc in a box.

The Future of Music in Other Bands & Artists
I have been thinking about the Death Magnetic example recently- about how the album is actually better quality on a video game
I had a couple of ideas.
Release the album at a reduced price with a blank CDR with the album artwork on - for those who want to download the album but still want the packaging - this could also be handy if a better version of the album is available in the future. Or just have the artwork to buy for like £5 and just have the album as a 320kbps download. This way you would not release millions of compact discs and vinyls only to realise the mix or master is defective and you have wasted millions.
This way you could always fix it and just put up a new mix for download.
Thoughts ?

Just seen ‘The Day That Never Comes’ on Jules (cunting) Holland - was pretty good!
I have grown increasingly aware of the prediliction on this board to follow up a compliment with an insult. It happens time and again
For Example:
” The new Metallica album is great. Kirks hair is still shit though ”
” I fucking LOVE mint cornettos !…Italians are all cunts though ”
:D

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
From what I gather on the Metallica board - the audio on the Death Magnetic guitar Hero 3 game is far superior to the final CD.
Madness.
Can’t wait til theres a good download of that.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Its definitely better than St Anger. Perhaps more fun than Reload and less plodding than Load. Great songs. WTF production.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Brickwalling is when you have the wave form of the song and instead of being able to see it normally
It ends up being compressed and squashed until there is no dynamics left

Top is normal, bottom is over compressed.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
An email from Ted Jensen, [who mastered it] to a fan on the metallica boards states that the mixes ” were brickwalled ” before ( he ) got them. Which is fucking ridiculous.

I think it works. :) Reminds me ” E-bow The Letter ” by REM too. Similar vocal delivery by Patti Smith.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I think memory Remains is about faded actors still trying to stay succesful so the vocal kinda makes sense.

Exactly. Also 2x4 , AInt My Bitch, Wasting My Hate, Fixxxer, Fuel, Memory Remains, Devils Dance. Some Quality songs on there.

Well in my opinion its better than St Anger, Reload and Load. I know thats hardly difficult before anyone pipes up, but I actually like Load / Reload.

I actually liked ” Pull Harder ” off ” Ascendancy ” but the rest was not great. And I thought the Crusafe was hilariously awful.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Well, someone said if any other band released Death Magnetic - it would not be held in any regard. My point is - Trivium have released an album or two of completely generic - metal by numbers and everyone loves them…
In all honesty - I was expecting Death Magnetic to be a faster / heavier Reload. I actually am far more impressed with it than I thought I would be. I didnt blindly listen to it and go  yep 10 out of 10 of course.
I may be a metallica ” fan ” but there are some songs / moments i dislike. All within My Hands anyone ? MOST of ajfa while i’m on the subject..
:)

Better than I expected, but, take away the band name and no-one would give a fuck about this fairly mediocre record, end of story.
It absolutely pisses on anything Trivium ever did yet people go crazy about them.
