:p it was the world’s first ever recording device - basically a cylinder of wax that you rotate and there is a cone with a needle on it, making grooves in the wax as you speak. So when you play it back, it reads the grooves it just made and repeats what you just said.

Don’t mock the Gramaphone ! I had to sell my wax cylinder recorder to buy it ! :P

There’s something to be said for going to the shop on day of release - seeing them all lined up - picking one up and going to pay for it - taking it home and listening to it on a stereo ( not a computer ) and reading the lyric book :)

I will always love a brand new CD in a Jewel Case with a nice book and pristine CD.

Whay re they called DIGI pack ? Digit implies digital - implies futuristic - but theres nowt futuristic about packaging albums in cardboard - which gets tatty after about a week.

I still go to second hand shops for VHS movies at £1 each :)

:mad: I hate how when gigs are broadcast on tv, say like Glasto or Reading, you wait to see a decent band, and the TV channel only shows the BIG HIT.
