Re: 11.07.2004, Ruisrock-Festival, Turku, Finland in Therapy? Live

On 11th, I’ll be waking up in the isle of Crete and will probably feel… A bit empty. A shame, really - I don’t usually fancy summer festivals, but this one would have been an exception.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live

Title: Helsinki, rock city (merged thread)

I dare to say that the Tavastia-gig must have been one of the best gigs I’ve ever seen. On the borders of group hysteria. I don’t think I can walk, hear or speak tomorrow, but it was worth it.

Tavastia was, if not sold out, at least full and the first five meters from the stage was a mass of pogoing flesh. I couldn’t see further back, but I suppose it was pretty good back there as well.

In short, it was good. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live

Well, there’s nothing that’d indicate tomorrow evening is different from every other evening in Tavastia, so my rough guess would be 22.00 - 22.30. Might even be a bit later than that, but I wouldn’t count on that.

Personally, I might make it to Ilves a bit after 21.00, so it’s one pint for me and off to Tavastia. I’d hate to miss TR since I haven’t seen them live, yet.

Re: CD stores in Helsinki???? in Chit-Chat

Depending on what you’re looking for, I’d put at least these on the list:

- Free Record Shop (Mannerheimintie) - it’s probably the biggest record shop Helsinki has right now.

- Keltainen Jäänsärkijä (near Tavastia) - very good shop, moderately good selection with used records.

- Popparienkeli (Viisikulma) - my personal favourite. Very, very good selection, also when it comes to used records.

- Digelius (just across the street from Popparienkeli) - if you’re into world music and that kind of weird things, you shouldn’t miss this. I’ve heard it’s a world class shop.

http://www.digelius.com/

- Tunnelin Levy (Asematunneli) is a small shop with excellent selection, though not the amount of used records they used to have.

Those are my picks, anyway.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live

… And it seems that Turun Romantiikka will be the supporting act. Which is cool; haven’t ever seen them live either, though I’ve ranked them as one of the best new bands in Finland.

Most Excellent.

Ah, yes, of course.

I might have to consider buying myself a T?-shirt.

Re: Comin’ to Helsinki this year? in Therapy? Live

Have to check my timetables for the evening, but yeah, if I can make it, of course I’ll come.

Though spell out the “WOM”-part for me. I’ve been away from the boards for about a year or so. ;)

I’ll add myself to the list of one’s who’ll going to make it. At least I have the ticket, now.

Haven’t ever seen Therapy? live before, actually.

Re: Best therapy album in General Therapy? Topics

Hahum. Not an easy choice, you know, except for the first one.

1. Suicide Pact - You First

Because it’s different, dark, moody, unnerving, rought and vicious. A very disturbing record. I like disturbing records.

2. Infernal Love

It’s love gone sour. I don’t pretend to like love gone sour, but when it does - and usually when it doesen’t - I find myself returning to this.

Besides, A moment of clarity, even if it’s not an original, is an excellent name for song. Especially with those lyrics.

3. Troublegum

Well, it was my first album (A casette, to be exact). I might forgive that, but I never forget it.

The others are good as well, but can’t really put them in any order. I’m saving High Anxiety for late evening.

Re: therapy? interview on finnish radio Thursday, May 1st in General Therapy? Topics

Mmm, today already? Has anyone seen it in the shops?

Obviously, I’ll have to skip the first period of today’s ice-hockey game and extend my work-trip via the nearest record store.

Re: Shameless & Finland in General Therapy? Topics

And I had the most pleasant suprise of finding the record earlier today from Tunnelin Levy, too.

Oh, yeah, hi everyone. I’m the fresh meat with his very first post.
