I love “Deluded Son” in General Therapy? Topics

Excellent riffs, great lyrics, this song really hits a spot emotionally.

But what I really love are the backup vocals in the second and thrid refrain. With “one” there is one extra vocal that kicks in that I really *feel*. It is so strage that such a minor detail makes that a song great.

Ah, it’s been a while since I listened to that band, and now I am in love again. Thank you for all the great music, T? !!!

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

Not too be picky, but since you’ve been using it so much: it’s “evolve”, and it can go without “themselves”.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

I got it on wednesday. I can’t give you my full opinion on it yet (I am also listening to the new Pearl Jam, man this makes me sound so 90’s), but what I can tell is that it certainly won’t become my favorite Therapy? album. I can’t imagine that.

The album sounds damn attractive though. Except from very few parts the production is great on this one. I listened to it in the car yesterday, and it felt amazing.

As for the songs, I don’t have anything against one-line choruses. Some of Therapy’s most famous songs have that. But to me it seems that this album has too many of them. It’s the sheer quantity and length of these choruses that drag it down a little. That said, I could live wihtout the “Into the Light” chorus, “Lose It All” and “Private Nobody” could also need some more in that area. It is a shame, because I like the verses and the instruments.

Some songs work incredibly well, even with one-line choruses. Sprung, Deluded Son, DSA, Unconsoled, Our White Noise, Raiun Hits Concrete Fear of God…yep, those are my favorites right now.

I don’t understand the hate Heart Beat Hits is getting. It is a decent song.

I enjoy listenig to a Therapy? album that is more open and melodic. While I enjoy NANE, the style of OCFA is a good choice. It’s so cool, that they are always working on their style.

Walk Through Darkness is the song I can totally do without, though. The well made Outro redeems it a tiny bit, but it comes across as standard punk lala. As did the last song on NANE.

Anyway, I enjoy listening to it, and thank God that Therapy? is still making good music.

Re: Worst t? album in General Therapy? Topics

Went with High Anxiety, though I was close to clicking Shameless.

While Shameless lacks some of Therapy’s brilliance, it *is* a good album with very solid rock songs. I don’t like the production too much, to me it sounds like they were trying to clean up the sound of Suicide Pact, which they had every right to do, but Shameless is too polished.

High Anxiety has the right fury behind it, but lacks when it comes to ideas. Also, the drumming is, IMO, sub par with the drums on other Therapy? albums (thank God it is much better on NANE). The whole thing lacks focus. People say that NANE is rough, but while the sound is, the playing is excellent. I am not pleased with the playing on HA. I still like most of the songs on it, though, especially Who Knows, Watch You Go and Rust.

Re: One Cure Cover in General Therapy? Topics

It’s not pleasant to look at, which I like.

I liked all album covers except SD and NANE so far. SD might be my favorite Therapy? album, though, so yeahg, the covers don’t matter much.

The new one is interesting. I find it to be bold, that’s pretty cool. It doesn’t have the initial class of a SPYF cover, and is not as cool as the covers of HA and Troublegum.
