rte ran a ten minute segment on their 9 o’clock news bulletin about how he had died. then i wake up on monday morning to find out he’s still alive. then by the time 5 o’clock on monday i find out he’s now dead. this brings up a few interesting questions, one of which you touched on dermot.

do rte have their own death race?
is anyone sure he’s really dead?
did rte have anything to do with it?

i’ve since found out that he was kept ‘alive’ on his life support machine so friends and family could visit him to say their goodbyes. another question. this one might have a philospohical tinge to it.

did he feel pain during this time? how do we know if he did or not? is it right to take the risk that he might be suffering pain to keep him alive, just so people could see him?

i think that’d be a tough one for me if i was in that position, no matter how many assurances i was given by docs that he wouldn’t feel a thing.
