bengal tiger shot in Iraq zoo by us troops.. in Chit-Chat

Title: bengal tiger shot in Iraq zoo by us troops..

how feckin stupid can you get!?
US soldiers partying in a zoo in Iraq tried to hand feed a tiger for fun, the tiger promply took the meal and one of the soldiers fingers! So the US idiots shoot the rare endangered tiger as revenge. “yeah you show that Damn iraqi tiger what us marines are made of”…

to quote NOFX:
The idiots are taking over.

Re: Guitar on computer query… in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

no your fine.
just make sure you start with everything down low!
you will need a couple of jacks to conect your guitar lead
to the line in on your soundcard.

Re: What distortion units do have? in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

my set up is a bit simpler these days, less and less fx.

gibson sg junior thru a peavey(which is not very good)
fx - marshall drivemaster (old but hard as nails)
- phaser set on slow, sometimes in studio i use a cheap zoom 505 for odd delay sounds.
also use a dunlop wah wah.

What i love most is my ebow, it is tricky to get the hang of but to simulate cello’s or violins it the dogs bollox.
Combine that with a slide and you have a very cool sound.

I run a lead from fx out on the amp into the PA which
gives a nice grind and loads of low end growl. Thankfully it keeps things defined for tight rythm.

I also a yamaha sbv bass, love the body shape.

Re: Gothenburg gig in Therapy? Live

i guess i’ll have to find a juke box with lots of therapy? songs on it in gothenburg…
i can pretend i’m at a real live rock show if i get drunk enough…start a little mosh pit with myself even.

to make matters worse, i took the days off work too.

Re: Looking for band members for T? tribute in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

i actually played in a therapy? tribute band here in Ireland. we were called ‘acidcum’…well i was young at the time…
It was back in 94/95…did everything from babyteeth to troublegum, went our seperate ways after IL came out, but for a while it was magic. Favorites from the gigs were dancin with manson, prison breaker, accelerator and strangely enough ‘auto surgery’ really rocked!?
Actually had the most fun ever in my life with that band…

Re: Fyfe’s drum sound on Nurse in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

harvey birrell did a great job gettin fyfes drum sound just right. the second snare that really gave therapy? there trademark drum sound has no snare wire and the skin is tightened up to bustin point. the ‘pop’ from the main snare is unreal, so precise, but to get away with that sound your
timing has to be machine like. By the way does anyone else but me hate grahams drum sound? Its flat and non descript on nearly everything recorded with him, with a few notable exceptions.

Re: Guitar on computer query… in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

whoooaaa…
be careful inputing from an amp direct into soundcard…
could very easy fry the card. start with levels way down.
a simple way is to plug into a stomp box or any guitar effects unit and then into line in.
If you plug in raw then it sounds rubbish except if you get
real time guitar fx software. You may get a bit of lag between playing and hearing unless you have alot of ram.

for recording multitracked guitar and anything else onto to pc, Ntrack multitracker software is the best budget way to do so. I’ve just finished an ep using it. Ntrack.com

Re: How do I get the girl I love back?????? in Chit-Chat

walk away from it…

you’ll get no joy from any explanation she gives.
Bury the whole thing back in the deepest darkest part of your memories and try and pick up the pieces.

Its hard advice but tried and tested, think about it, eventually you will have to so bite the bullet.
stay sane.

Re: landmine like pedals. in Chit-Chat

The unit your talking about is indeed a monster!
Really good piece of kit, very expensive however.
If i’m not mistaken its and amp simulator rather than a stomp unit. Top end Laney stuff, not their cheap range,
is very similar sound and not as expensive.

Title: Johhny Cash R.I.P.

merged post

Raise a glass to the original man in black, give him a good send off into the night. In some strange way johnny cash dying, makes me feel much older.
Wouldnt it be nice to see T? covering a cash number.

Re: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

pretender, you might have hit on something there…

But i rekon Andy was probably just refering to himself and michael being founder members so they would ultimately have full control over everything.

The cog wheels are starting to turn in my head now though…
Cant wait to see what happens next.
Never a dull moment with t?.

Re: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

so there we have it…

Anyhow its really good to see that fighting attitude
from andy. Looking forward to seeing them back harder and more bitter’n’twisted than ever.

Now…who do you rekon will replace graham??

In my dreams i’d love to see alex empire from atari teenage riot do
all the beats and samples for therapy?, now that would be mayhem!

Re: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

listen, i’d be the same as you all and be very sceptical
about all this if i hadn’t actually heard Graham say it himself.

I’m not joking here, what i’m telling you is what he told me.
Unless he is starting some elaborate hoax, but why?
He told more people than me. He was talking to 4 or 5 people that
night and hopefully someone of them will come on this site and confirm what he said.

I probably should not have said anything about this considering the
reaction it has caused. But he didnt ask for this to be kept secret…
after all he did tell a few people this.

I am as surprised and shocked as any of you,
But ok, lets wait and see…
i probably wont publicly comment any further on this but if
anyone wants me to clarify anything i said earlier-

Re: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

dont believe me if you like.

Like i said, i was a turn gig, and he played nearly the whole
set with them (guitar and not drums).
Its christmas so people are in good spirits and get talking.
My girlfriend knows graham for quite a while now and he told us.

I dont thinks its any big secret, its just that over christmas nothing
happens like press releases etc..

Anyhow, its the 27th today…i saw him only 4 days ago, for me
thats not a delay in doing something, normally it would take me a month or so…lol.

Re: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

totally serious.

I couldnt believe it myself. I was like, hang on a second, why are you leaving? dont do that!! But he is a bit sick and tired of it all.
He said that he didnt want to play ‘heavy music’ anymore, or for now anyhow. He described playing live with therapy every night as like getting the shit kicked out of you - basically it was so energetic. and like i said earlier he wants a break from that to do his own thing.
He left after the last dublin gig in the ambassador.

Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!! in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!!

I was at a gig on the 23rd of december, was talking to Graham and he
informed us that he had left Therapy?.

Reasons,…well many it seems.
First of all its not personality clashes…
No they still get on really well and like he says they’re best mates.

Graham says that he wants to do his own music and has some projects
lined up. Actually he was playing guitar with a band called ‘Turn’(http://www.turn.ie) Turn, i think would love to have him in the band but he says he’s got lots of things he wants to try.

He is also a tad depressed, a friend of his died recently, (the singer from the mary janes). So thats that. The band took it well by all accounts, all though they were dissapointed they realise that
this was what graham wanted to do.
Still all best friends which is good.

Now the question i asked him…
What will t? do now?
He’s says nothing is decided. But this might be the end of the road for t?.
He said they might not want to go thru the whole auditioning for someone new again…so who knows???
(Bring back Fyfe i say!!)

Anyhow if i hear more i will let the message board know.
Therapy? are a 3 piece again.

whats T? song has best guitar sound or drum sound? in General Therapy? Topics

Title: whats T? song has best guitar sound or drum sound?

For guitar sound my fav is ‘epilepsy’,
totally abrasive, wild as f**k!
great bass too!

drum sound, mybe brainsaw, or maybe evil elvis.

overall sound, i really like the production on ‘unrequited’

Re: what do you think the WORST 3 T? songs are? in General Therapy? Topics

1. body bag girl - atrocious atempt at cramps style rock’roll.
2. Theme from delorean - whats this meant to be? The specials or mc5?
3. tramline - filler material. Total rubbish.

Body Bag Girl - The Cramps meets Gary Glitter… in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Body Bag Girl - The Cramps meets Gary Glitter…

I rekon that ‘Body Bag Girl’ is the weakest T? song I’ve
ever heard. Surely they had something better than this to put on the album! I set my expectations way too high for ‘shameless’, what a let down.
