Re: Boyzone in General Therapy? Topics

I remember seeing a program on ITV years ago (the one where Therapy? played CC Rider and were looking for Elvis, i think), and Andy started talking about his mate in Boyzone. Can’t remember if he specified which one of them it was. And one of Boyzone have a rock/rap type of band thing going on now. My old band was supposed to support them about a year ago but it fell through (cos we split up, ahem).

Signed Therapy? stuff on Ebay in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Title: Signed Therapy? stuff on Ebay

Hi guys. First of all i’d like to apologise, because i actually offered these items for sale about a year and a half ago. a few people expressed an interest, but because i was going travelling i ran out of time to sort everything out. so now i’m back in the UK (but going away again very soon :D ), and am trying to sell them again.

so here’s some links…

Re: What the bloody hells this thing???????? in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

an acetate is the master copy from which they press all the ‘normal’ copies of the record (on vinyl). very few of them are produced so if it is an original it’s very rare… they’re more fragile than normal vinyl too which is why it’s never been played.

Re: signed drumsticks and t-shirts in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

I also have a red heavyfuckingmetal T-shirt with Therapy? in Marshall type lettering on the front (good condition) and a very worn and hole-ridden short sleeved teethgrinder shirt (although i dunno if you’d want it. it’s cool though).

signed drumsticks and t-shirts in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Title: signed drumsticks and t-shirts

hi there people. i’ve got…

- two drumsticks used (one’s snapped in two!) and signed by fyfe.

- one longsleeve teethgrinder shirt signed by andy, mike and fyfe.

- one shortsleeve nowhere tour t-shirt signed by andy, mike and fyfe.

these items have been lovingly hoarded by me for 10 or so years, but i’m reluctantly having to flog them so i can go travelling.

not sure what to ask for them money-wise, so go ahead, make me an offer i can’t refuse ;)

mail me for pictures and more details… (email address in my profile)

Jim

PS check out my music at electromancer if you like a little bit of electro/industrial rockage.

That`s not what I mean though.

Somebody must have Babyteeth and Ten Year Plan. Put that into your CD Player, listen to Meat Abstract and tell me if it sounds the same on both. It is the same recording, but if you listen to Screamager from Troublegum and compare it to Meat Abstract from Babyteeth you`ll notice that the sound on Babyteeth seems to be quite thin. If that difference is lost on Ten Year Plan, both songs have been put on an equal level.

all the songs on so much… will have been remastered - mastering is nothing to do with the original recording process, but is processing done as post-production. when remastered the songs will all be cleaned up/polished, given the same sound levels and maybe some more eq. all this is to make sure the songs sit well together as an album, so they flow together better than they would in their original mastered state. So they will sound different, but are still essentially the same songs…

Re: Trigger Inside video in General Therapy? Topics

it’s not unusual for a band to release a different edit of a video in the states (to the rest of the world) because the US expect different things from a video - odd, but true.

Re: Cds in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

i don’t see why DVD’s are very expensive to produce - especially if it’s just their promo videos and some live footage. it’s not like they’d have to film anything new, just a tiny bit of editing, some menu design, manufacture and distribution… but advertising and promotion on the other hand…

Re: “Fuck the police”-song… in Therapy? Live

fuck the police was by NWA and off the Straight Outta Compton album. i very much doubt it was this song, though that would’ve been cool…

Re: Sunshine in General Therapy? Topics

yeh, i seem to recall they originally planned to have the sound of a load of police kicking down a door and shouting.

i don’t work for a recording studio, but do produce/record a lot of (my own) music. i actually work as a media instructor which is mostly teaching video editing etc.

i like the new tune BTW.

it appears to be a mono recording, so if the guitars are panned hard left and right in the stereo version they’ll appear quieter in the non stereo version - anything that was centrally balanced eg. vocals, bass, bassdrum will appear louder than anything else panned left or right (which will lose about 3db of volume in mono, probably)… er, if you see what i’m trying to say…

I’ve the 30 bootleg (which is okay quality), plus the BBC 10 minute edit of the show. I also have another short version recorded from Dutch radio which has Fantasy Bag and Punishment Kiss and most of Neck Freak.

that’d be cool. cheers mate :) i’ll be in touch when you get back then :)

Old Therapy? tapes… in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

Title: Old Therapy? tapes…

i sorted through some old cassette’s of mine at the weekend and found a few therapy? items. i was wondering if anybody had any information on ‘em?

1. a Mark Radcliffe session from Radio 1. they perform Loose, Bad Mother, Our Love Must Die and 30 seconds, and there’s some nice interview bits in between too (“We are Therapy? and we ARE Rock’n’Roll!). When was this broadcast? i’m assuming it was just before infernal love was released. is there a Cd bootleg of this show, and what’s the quality like if it is? i’ve cleaned up the tape and the recording has come out really good…

2. From Radio 1 when they supported the Cult at Finnsbury Park. it’s pre-Nurse and they play innocentx and meat abstract, with a bit of neckfreak tacked on the end of innocentx. the quality’s not great, but i love listening to these recordings since they’re what got me into therapy? in the first place :) again, when was it broadcast and is there a better quality bootleg of their whole set?

3. various other songs from compilation tapes including Nausea (mark goodier 21.11.92), screamager (live, Vox ‘95), stories (live, ‘95?), knives (live Japan oct ‘93, Select) and isolation (vox, ‘94). i’ve downloaded an mp3 of this version of isolation before, but it wasn’t as good quality wise as my recording. is there an even better CD quality version of this? and all these songs? I’m in the middle of cleaning these up and they’re sounding pretty good.

4. Radio 1 broadcast of a gig in Glasgow. setlist…

Stop It You’re Killing Me
Trigger Inside
Die Laughing
Femtex
Turn
(halfway down the stairs)Unbeliever
Isolation
Knives
Screamager
Nowhere

when was it and is there a cd quality version out there somewhere? the version i’ve got is good quality.

I guess i’m really wondering if it’s worth cleaning all these recordings up for myself, Cos if they’re easily available i won’t bother… cheers for listening people.
