Re: Ginger gig in Bristol in Other Bands & Artists

Last post on this because im getting bored of it now. I said what ginger said at the gig, not after it. What ginger has posted on Twitter was out of line & im very disappointed personally that he reacted this way. Its a hark back to the bad old days of Ginger that we haven’t seen in years.

But im not talking to Ginger, Im talking to you. A guy who tweet the editor ofNME to bad mouth Ginger, a guy who posts messages about the Gingers sitting on his legacy because he wasn’t up for a single gig in your eyes. Despite many people at the same gig having a contrary opinion to you. A guy who seems to think he’s owed by someone he doesn’t even know…

But you clearly don’t see me opinion so I’ll leave it at that. You’ve succeeded in making Ginger look like a twat, which I guess was your intention. The problem is you’ve also made yourself look like a dick in the process

Re: Ginger gig in Bristol in Other Bands & Artists

Yes your attitude Joel. Whilst I will not condone any of what Ginger said at this gig, I’m pretty certain he wont have been ranting & raving when he said it like you have been at him today. You say he has now apologized, I wonder if you have apologized to him? Because even if he started it, you & others escalated it with your abuse of him today.

Still, given you say that you don’t care whether one of your so called rock idols is having a hard time of it, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. Its just makes me a bit sad.

Re: Ginger gig in Bristol in Other Bands & Artists

Have to say Joel your attitude is pretty sh*t on this. To have an issue is one thing, but keep it between the two of you. Ginger is easy to contact at any time. But instead you’ve gone to every open forum you can find and slated the guy…

Having said that though Gingers response is equally disappointing.

One thing I would echo from SG5s post is the fact that for this tour he extended an open invitation to all fans who could not afford a ticket. Let him know & he would put them on the guest list free of charge. I cannot think of any other artist doing similar in the 15years I have been going to gigs. He also spends a huge amount of time almost daily answering fans questions on formspring. I don’t know many artists that put the same amount of effort in.

So he had a bad gig. It happens to every group (remember the Jagermeister gig T? Played??). Be a man about it and let it go. Instead think of the 16 years of great time he gave you, and accept people are human.

Seems there are some different perspectives on this…

I’m not judging in any way as i wasn’t there, but I did see Ginger in Southampton on Sunday and he was his usual fantastic self. Top books for the most part.

TBH, I think the hall of shame shows that T? have some pretty poor songs. Of that list, the only one I’d have an issue with is CoN. I think as the list pans out over T?s entire catalogue there will be a huge difference in the no of songs in the HoF rather than shame. We’re just getting rid of the dross now!

Is it just me or has the voting got screwed in the last couple of posts? Oscott has increased d,s,a without voting for it, and B-B has voted to decrease it without changing the figure. Heres how I think the table should look (with my vote for today cast). Someone please correct it if I’m wrong

Magic Mountain 45
Bowels of Love 20
Screamager 45
Church of Noise 25
Polar Bear 45

I’m with B-B in trying to get rid of D,S,A. Horrific song :-D

Re: Clor in Other Bands & Artists

Got this album the other day and totally love it!! Would really recommend others checking them out.

Gonna have to go catch ‘em live at some point as their singer looks totally crazy…

Re: Wildhearts fans in Other Bands & Artists

Did anyone go to his Southampton gig last night?? Was absolutely amazing, despite the fact he only played 4 or 5 Wildhearts songs.

I nearly didnt go as I was totally shagged after going to Glastonbury (where my tent got swept away down a river that formed under my tent :p ) but am so glad I did.

was absolutley usless at work today as a result though…

Lets see what franz F, kaiser ciefs et al sound like when they are on their 6th albums…Hopefully Pete Doherty will be dead by then and we wont have to be subjected to his talent free shit anymore

And that British band Therapy? God they’re shit… oh wait ;)

Re: Manics: Wolves 6th April Review in Other Bands & Artists

Quite a different setlist from the Soton, we didnt hear Found that Soul, Ocean Spray(thank God!!!), No Surface All Feeling or To Repel Ghosts, but then again we had Empty Souls, 1985, The Girl Who Wanted to be God and the Mighty 4st 7lbs, So I was more than happy :D

Re: Manics free download EP in Other Bands & Artists

Archives of pain starts kind of acoustically though, sounds good though. Saw them in SOton on sunday and they were amazing!

Cant understand why no-one likes Lifeblood - it’s by far their best album since Everything Must Go IMO.

UK dates… anymore?? in Therapy? Live

Title: UK dates… anymore??

Are there going to be any more UK dates announced, or just the 3 stated? I thought they were going to do a Pompey date after the cancelled one although I realise that may be what the Brighton date is for. Bit hard for me to get there though… :(

Re: top5 album openers… in Other Bands & Artists

Dont think I could pick 5 but the best by far must be Pure by 3cr off pure. When it kicks in it’s fantastic!!

Look I know you’re bitter about it but just accept the fact that you’re not good enough to be part of the UK :D ;)

Re: 3 Colours Red tour in Other Bands & Artists

Quote (author unknown):

[i]All in all… not worth the cash, and considering they had about 5 years to write the damn thing, I’d expect a LOT more.

They havent taken 5 years though, as they have all been in different bands so any material from the new album would’ve been fairly recent i would think.

Although it is safe to say the new album isnt the best, and I cant say I like the new political direction either (although I dont like any band being very political) I do think it’s more consistent and perhaps a bit better than Revolt, which had too many bad songs on it.

Actually got something through from their mailing list yesterday, and it looks like they are releasing a two cd set from their first two albums!! A best of and some b-sides. Bit bloody pathetic if you ask me after just two albums.

Don’t bother with the new album, it’s… middle-aged.

I think it’s pretty good actually. Much more consistent than Revolt (although it lacks a really stand-out track like Paralyze). Doesnt come close to Pure though, whiich imho, is one of the finest albums ever!!

Re: manics april uk tour in Other Bands & Artists

Got some more info on this now, they will be playing alot of stuff off the Holy Bible on this tour, as well as Lifeblood, so will be a absolute kickass show!!

I cant flaming wait :D

Re: manics april uk tour in Other Bands & Artists

Why would that be sensible for them to split up? Just because they dont have as many fans as they used to and you didnt like their last album?? T? would have split years ago based on that logic yet they are still making quality albums and playing small venues and we still love them.

MSP singles are still charting really well and they were the most popular act at the Tsunami gig the other week, so I dont think they are finished yet. I’m loving the chance to see them in smaller venues personally.

Re: manics april uk tour in Other Bands & Artists

That album is class!! Only got it yesterday (£5.99 on play.com) but I already love it. Probably their best work since The Holy Bible.

Quality that they are playing Soton, first time they will have played there in almost 10 years!! Support for the Delays too, cant wait.

Re: the wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists

Looks like The Wildhearts are on hiatus again. He has joined another band to “get his spirits up”. Statement from him below…

I have been offered the job playing second guitar, as well as helping write the
new album, for The Brides Of Destruction. This does not mean that The Wildhearts
are over, it just means that I am going through a traumatic time of my life and
need a break from being the frontman/chief in charge.

My spirits are low and my performance as a lead singer would not be worth the
admission fee, believe me. I cannot stop playing music however, and the offer to
join The Brides has come at a time where I desperately need to concentrate on
something to help me cope, both mentally and emotionally. Tracii and the guys
have been so kind to me, and I am more than grateful for their friendship and
encouragement.

If everyone can kindly allow me the time to heal I would be grateful for the
considerate approach to this most unfortunate of times for me. I trust I can
count on the fans for support, as opposed to knee jerk opinions and malicious
gossip.

Thank you, and never take advantage of the love that you have in your life.

Ginger

Man, I’m never gonna get to here them play any endless nameless! ;)
