Re: Portsmouth?? in Therapy? Live

Just looked on the tour page and this gig has been removed, but the others are all there. Why has Pompey been singled out?

Re: Portsmouth?? in Therapy? Live

Title: Why has Portsmouth been cancelled??? (merged)

Just received an email to say that the Therapy? gig at the Wegewood rooms has been cancelled and will not be rescheluded! What the hell is going on? Is the rest of the tour OK?

Re: the wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists

Might as well just say for all the Wildhearts fans out there that they are recording a live DVD in London in December, and you all can help choose the set list by going to

http://www.thewildhearts.com/vote/songlist.php

and selecting 15 songs.

Can i just urge people to vote for Endless Nameless songs if poss, esp Urge, Soundog Babylon and Now is the Colour, as they never play these live so need some encouragement. I would say Anthem as well but the guy who wrote that isn’t in the band anymore (though I voted for it anyway :D ).

And for my tuppence worth, 3cr and Wildhearts are both amazing bands, though thw Wildhearts are slightly better.

Re: Wildhearts - Anthem in Other Bands & Artists

Scuzz does tend to be showing alot T?, Terrorvision and the Wildhearts in the last month or so. I also saw nothing ever changes but the shoes (I think) on there a while back. They looked so young I barely recognised them!! Havent seen Rise up yet though…

All we need know are a bit of 3CR in the mix and I’ll be watching it all the time.

Wildhearts - Anthem in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Wildhearts - Anthem

I just saw the video to this on Scuzz and its bloody well funny!! Its just the band playing in a white room and then on the chorus its got a bunch of people singing the lyrics. I know it doesnt sound like much but it is great. Especially when ginger trys to kick a cymbal over and slips on his arse :p

Mate if you take your sailor suit you will be asking for trouble (unless you like that kind of thing! ) Personally I’ll be taking my knuckle dusters!

Oh, and a peg for my nose ;)

Yay - Portsmouth and London for me then! :D

Re: List Where You Want T? in Therapy? Live

Southampton Uni - so much better than the Wedgewood rooms.

T? wouldn’t sell out the pyramids though

Re: how fucking good is ‘long distance’?! in General Therapy? Topics

I love how this song starts, but I gotta say the chorus doent really fit in with the rest of it for me.

The first line though is Andy at his mournful best!

Camberley Live - 2nd October in Therapy? Live

Title: This instore gig…

…when are we going to get confirmation? Cause it turns out Ginger from the Wildhearts is playing an acoustic gig that night in London, which may turn out to be a very productive day for me if I can see them both!

Only problem is Saints are at home that day, although the way they’re are playing I may try to get rid of my ticket to one of my gullible, non-T? loving mates :D

Re: rating order of T? albums in General Therapy? Topics

Hell I’m up for all three!! Damn those nasty message boards who dont allow you to start new threads, reply to threads of give attachments. Its bureaucracy gone mad I tell you. We must fight this oppression ;)

OK, time for bed me thinks…

Re: Idea For A T? Tour in Therapy? Live

When are they going to announce dates for this damn tour anyway??? The albums out in a month and not a sniff of a live date. I’m getting impatient here

As for support, how about the Wildhearts? Bout time we gave their career a shot in the arm :D

Re: Tour in Therapy? Live

I think its an animal sanctuary rather than just an owl one. Didn’t think it was so famous that word of it spread all the way to Soton though!!!

And for all of you thinking of visiting, especially those of you living in Fareham, I wouldnt bother. It’s like night of the living dead with all the old people pottering about.

Re: Tour in Therapy? Live

OK Stubbington actually, have you heard of it???

Although I do live in a field…

Re: Tour in Therapy? Live

Im actually closer to the blue side of Hants:eek: living just outside Fareham. Pretty cool gig wise, as it means i can get to both pompey or saints (unfortunately pompey tends to have the better ones)

The uni has got to be my fav venue in either city, although T? are prob more likely to play the Wedgewood Rooms next time they come down

Re: Tour in Therapy? Live

Machine Head are playing the guildhall??? Bloody hell I’ll have to catch that. They must be the heaviest band ever to play there. Agree that Burning Red is class but the later singles ive heard arent that great.

Not sure where T? could play in Soton really, apart from the uni l;ike when they supported the Wildhearts. Although Saints FC are applying to hold a couple of gigs at St Marys (a 32000 seater stadium), so maybe they can play there :D

Re: Martin and 3CR in General Therapy? Topics

Thats excellent, wish i was there. What songs did he join them for?

3cr are bloody amazing, I’ve been listening to Conterfeit Jesus all day

Re: best 3 piece bands in Other Bands & Artists

mate, how can there have been 3 posts already and no-one mentions Muse. The power they generate as a 3 piece, often playing 4 instruments in a song (matt on guitar and keyboards) is amazing.

T? were a lot better as a 3 piece than i thought they would be, but i cant help lamenting the songs they wont be able to play live anymore, like ten year plan etc…

Re: Idea for show(s) in Therapy? Live

Sorry, i probably annoyed a few people by saying it should be UK, but I not sure how much money they could make out of these shows, so therefore it maybe wouldnt be financially sound to go abroad.

Dont they live in camden or something, thats why i suggested London.

Idea for show(s) in Therapy? Live

Title: Idea for show(s)

I read these boards on and off for years now, and the one thing that people seem to complain about constantly is the predictability of the sets T? play live. The support slots they’ve been doing recently have been a bit more varied, although tons of songs from post Troublegum albums never get an airing

Wouldnt it be cool if T? did a few shows at tiny venues where they only play songs that people wouldnt expect? i.e. no Nowhere, Screamager, Potatoe Junkie etc… but maybe songs like Safe, Fat Camp (PLEASE god!!) and Evil Elvis. This could be a UK +Ireland tour, or maybe just a London residency like they did at the underworld a few years ago. WoM readers could get priority over tickets, as we are the ones who are most likely to appreciate the new songs, and it will be a cracking gig(s) im sure.

What do u all think?

Re: Anyone else can’t wait for Southampton Uni gig in Therapy? Live

‘fraid you missed Meat Abstract mate, that was the first song of the set. Flaming awesome gig, better than many headline performances ive seen of T?. They made up for the short set time by playing the songs at a furious pace. I could hardly keep up!!

Wildhearts gig question in Therapy? Live

Title: Wildhearts gig question

Sorry to put this on therapys board, but the wildhearts dont seem to have a dedicated message board like therapy do, and i know that many of you like them as well…

anyway, get to the point i know, i just wanted to know is the wildhearts are playing any songs off endless nameless on this tour? I flaming love that album and would love to hear them play urge or now is the colour. going to see them at southampton uni (which is a quality venue for the person who asked in another post, although i havent been for years) and cant wait!! wish it were T? headlining though, they are a little better both musically and live than the wildhearts

Australia in Therapy? Live

Title: Australia

I recently moved out to aus for a year to better myself and learn about the world (well actually its to stop me from having to do any real work for a little while longer).

Is there any chance of Therapy playing any gigs out here? I could book them into my local pub! Ive been dying to see them again now they have staarted mixing up the set a bit and throwing in some oldies.

Anyone connected with the band know anything???

Slight Gripe! / Too much new stuff in Therapy? Live

Title: Slight Gripe!

Went to the london gig last week and have to say it was pretty bloody amazing - the new songs sound even better life.

One thing that annoyed me though was the predictability of the set. There wasnt one song that I wouldnt have expected them to play. + i think im right in thinking there wasnt a single song off shameless (it really isnt that bad)

When you think they asked us all for three songs that we dont normally hear live but would like to, it a bit of a farce that they didnt play anything unexpected. They asked us for our opinion and then completly ignored it!

Was this the same at the other gigs, or were we unlucky in london?

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live

I hope they do fat camp as well

The Wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists

Title: The Wildhearts

As they are currently riding (relatively) high in the charts @ 17, what do others think of them. They’re my favourite band after Therapy? and the closest band in sound and style to them in m y opinion. I don’t mean that they write similar music but both bands tend to change their musical approach after each album and yet always produce outstanding stuff that i like. Check out Endless Nameless by the Wildhearts - one of the most distinctive albums of all time.

Also Ginger (the singer), loves Therapy? He said he cried when he 1st heard Safe of Semi Detached (the big girl)

Lookielikies in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Lookielikies

I was watching Jools Holland this morning and it struck me how much the lead singer of Soundtrack of Our Lives looks like our own Andy Cairns. Could be some fiendish plot of Andys to get into poppier music.

Can any one think of any other lookielikes for Therapy? members

also does anyone know if therapy? are going be playing in the uk anytime soon - reading or glastonbury perhaps?
