Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

Woo! Congratulations. I had to miss a T? gig when I had my daughter. Luckily it was the Shameless tour so I didn’t feel too bad ;)

Yes. He’s Irish if that helps. And also, he looks like this: http://files.list.co.uk/images/2007/03/12/sean-hughes-thumb_59x42.jpg

Re: Weirdest place you’ve found something Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

Page 82 of an old Sean Hughes novel called ‘It’s What He Would Have Wanted’:

Sean Hughes wrote:

“Shea, this is Catrina and Alison and they have kindly invited us to the Therapy? gig at the Astoria. Apparently the girls know the support act.”

“‘Do you like Therapy??’ she asked. ‘Not really,’ I replied, rusty at date-speak. She was quiet after that.”

“Back at the bar, it was quieter as Therapy? were on stage - we didn’t bother watching them, nor did another fifty or so people who obviously preferred the sound of their own voices to the primal boom of Andy Cairns’s.”

“Suddenly there was a big cheer as the singer announced it was the merchandiser’s birthday. He looked embarrassed and turned to us and said, ‘It’s just part of the show, they do this every night.’ They referred to him as ‘Mary’, probably because of his big girl’s laugh.”

“It was coming to the end of the gig and Therapy? started playing a few numbers I actually recognised. As soon as the band had left the stage the crowd began streaming out like meek sheep but with worse jumpers.”

Re: Therapy? stickers in General Therapy? Topics

They used to send you red ones with black gemils if you wrote to the fan club. I remember black ones with the Marshall style logo in silver, black and green German tour ones (I think with the Troublegum cover as the picture), big gemil window stickers. Kerrang! also went through a phase of giving away sheets of stickers and there were a few T? ones on those. I don’t know where you’d find any these days though :s - You could just buy yourself some sticker paper and print your own?

Re: new stuff (Clowns Galore) in General Therapy? Topics

Alan wrote:

So is “Clowns Galore” the name of that song? Strange… that was the name of a song recorded for the OCFA sessions which was apparently a completed tune, apart from the vocals. The song in the video only seems to be an early idea.

“Well spotted! It’s obviously the same song-title but we’re re-writing the music and lyrics from scratch. There might be 1 riff from the original included but you never know as there’s a fair bit of re-arranging going on these days… ;)

Glad you like it in it’s primitive state, we’ll endeavour to film some more at the the next rehearsal and see if there’s a treat for you’s in there… regards… Michaelx”

Yes.

@Alan - I’ve emailed the band for clarification about the song name :)

Re: new stuff (Clowns Galore) in General Therapy? Topics

I really liked the tune, I just wish it didn’t involve the word ‘clowns’. *shudder*
