Re: Manchester gig reviews: Start here! in Therapy? Live

Title: How am I alive???

I ache so bad. I have too many bruises to count. I can’t turn my neck. Man that was worth it though!

Me and Dano (who made an excellent defence barrier, ta chum :D) made it onto the second row pretty much straight away and to the first about half way through.

I was pretty much right in front of Michael, which afforded several groping opportunities, an excellent past time indeed. The whole band were on top form, I didn’t realise how much I missed seeing them live (it’s been way too long).

Regarding the set-list, I am gutted that they didn’t play Straight Life or Teethgrinder - I know they said they may swap occassionally and throw in some surprises but there were no replacement surprises (as far as I could tell anyway) and there was no Man After Midnight, despite my campaign efforts.

For those of you who want to know the setlist, I truly can’t remember it myself but if anybody does know then they could just start a new thread so people who want to know can read it and people who don’t can avoid it with ease.

Anyway, a big Cheers! to Dano and Carrie for keeping me entertained, apologies to Karl and others that we didn’t get to meet.

Monkfish - I got a train back to Leeds, I was with 2 friends (one girl, one guy) but we didn’t see anyone who looked Therapy?d or we would’ve said hello :)

Re: Is Mr Andy Cairns the nicest man in ROCK? in Therapy? Live

One thing I remember was at a gig in Hamburg years ago.

One guy in the pit lost his glasses and Andy recognized that. So Andy made the rest of the band stop playing the song and told everybody to help that poor guy to find his glasses.

Afterwards there was applause for the guy who finally found his glasses, and T? were going on playing that song (don´t remember which song it was exactly).

I mean, if it was another band no one would care about a person in the audience who´s missing his or her glasses or whatever, but Andy did, just to ensure, that everbody is having a good time.

RESPECT for that!

I received no help trying to retrieve my shoe last night  but nonetheless, lovely chaps all round.

Yes. I’m just across the moor, turn left after The Slaughtered Lamb… :D

Re: Still no sign of Belfast tickets… in Therapy? Live

Yeah well, it’s my birthday so it WILL be a good night whatever happens, I am determined! I’m still working on how to persuade them to delay it, perhaps if I said they could film at my house instead? :D

Re: T? @ Manchester in Therapy? Live

I didn’t even know there was a 6.35am - yikes!

Ian, I’ve emailed you my mobile no. as I have a friend selling a couple of tickets. Hopefully catch up with you tomorrow anyway, I think we’ll be heading straight to the union.

Why do you need a babysitter Hooch?

My daughter’s only 17 months old so I doubt she’d get in :D

Ordinarily her dad would look after her but cause of the travelling involved I’d be gone for the best part of two days and he’ll be working. Gah.

Citizen - it is a shame but your holiday does sound exceptionally cool. Not quite as cool as a road trip to Belfast to see T? and be on a DVD but nonetheless :D

Re: Still no sign of Belfast tickets… in Therapy? Live

Thanks for the hints Iris :) I had a look at some flights too and they are quite cheap. The ones from Leeds (city nearest to me, an hour away by train) are lame so I would have to get the coach from Leeds to Manchester Airport - all this would still be cheaper than getting a train to Stranraer!

More problems though, as I am told I need a passport (even though it’s in the UK) and I don’t know if I could get one in time. Plus I need a babysitter - volunteers?

Citizen - can’t you cut your holiday short and drive us to Stranraer? :D Yorkshire folk in it together etc etc..

Ah, if you posted that reply here, that’s probably where I heard him say it :D Worth a shot, eh? Heh heh

:D I believe Martin once said it was a possibility if they got drunk enough, I for one intend to hunt him down on Tuesday afternoon and present him with one of my cocktails…

Re: Still no sign of Belfast tickets… in Therapy? Live

Cheers :) It’s not looking hopeful. Return ferry costs a mere £23 but the train fare to get to the ferry port is £87 - plus none of my friends will part with that much cash to see T? with me. Fools

Re: Still no sign of Belfast tickets… in Therapy? Live

Trying to figure out how the hell to get from rural Yorkshire to Belfast in the course of a day. Baaaaah.

Does anyone have a clue how far it is from Belfast ferry port to the Mandela Hall? It looks like the earliest I can get into Belfast is 6.45pm which doesn’t leave much time… :(

Re: T? @ Manchester in Therapy? Live

Um, not decided yet. I have long dark / red hair and will be with a random looking girl and 50s style chappie :) Check out this thread:

I’m hoping there’ll be a plan of action. Maybe you have an idea?

Re: C C Rider live???? in Therapy? Live

No, I don’t think anyone could take it seriously. Caitlin whatsit writes for The Independent now I think.

Re: C C Rider live???? in Therapy? Live

I remember the program Naked City but I don’t recall ever seeing T? on it, which is a shame.

Re: Which would be the perfect band to go on tour with Therapy? ? in Therapy? Live

I’d love to see Schtum supporting them again, if they’re still even together. Or maybe The Driven - I’ve always appreciated that T? have given less well known bands an opportunity to get heard.

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live

Haha, I’m having the exact same feeling Tree!

Great to see so much diversity though, it’ll be intriguing to see what comes out on top at the end of this.

p.s. to those yet to vote: Man After Midnight! Go on, you know it would be hilarious :D

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live

I think Trigger Inside is quite usual. I’ve never heard them play Dancin’ With Manson though. Sadly I had to miss the Suicide Pact tour so I don’t know what they played from that album, I’m certainly hoping Sister was in there though :)

Re: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live

What did you go for instead Tree?

I voted for Gimme A Man After Midnight (C’mon people!), Neck Freak and Our Love Must Die :D

Vote for T? to play your favourite song live! in Therapy? Live

Title: Vote for T? to play your favourite song live!

Hoorah!

Those saintly chaps Therapy? have very kindly said that they will let YOU choose 3 songs to be played live on their forthcoming tour in May.

To register your votes go to http://www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk/tour/vote.php.

Do they know what they’re letting themselves in for? I don’t think so…

Ha ha - I think I remember him, was he a short-arse? With kinda foppy dark hair?

Yes. :o - He was called Jimmy, not the same bloke that played on the album, he was just doing the live stuff.

Anyway, getting back to the thread ;) - I agree that they always play the same ‘classics’ but I for one have never really been bothered about Nowhere so that’s my vote.

Not too fussed about Stories, but would miss the others, especially Teethgrinder. My g/f would miss knives and some random grumbled about missing Potato Junkie when they last played Cambridge.

I once copped off with the guy who played sax on Stories live so it should definitely be banned in case he comes back *groupie shame* ;)

I can’t give you the power to press the button again but I can edit the poll to remove your previous vote and put it in Paris instead - will that do?
