Re: Record Stores in Other Bands & Artists

Heh heh heh. It would indeed :p Do you know any of them personally?

Re: Record Stores in Other Bands & Artists

I went out with a bloke who worked in a record shop. Is it a rule that they have to be DJs too? One of the other guys who worked there (and was also a DJ ;)) was cool and I would buy albums on his recommendation alone. Very trustworthy.

Re: what other bands/music do you listen to? in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve already posted mine but my sister just told me about a band called Finch and they’re bloody fantastic. The addy is http://www.finchmusic.com and you can listen to the album :)

Re: now playing… in Other Bands & Artists

Farside’s Rigged album. Silver Anniversary is quite possibly the best song they’ve ever written.

Re: Getting into it. in General Therapy? Topics

Yeah, I only recently got into LOG as I seemed to have missed the whole thing when it was on TV.

I used to work in Crash, many moons ago. Didn’t get chance to go in today though :( I wonder if they’d be interested in setting up an outreach branch for deepest, darkest Yorkshire…

Re: Getting into it. in General Therapy? Topics

You wouldn’t say that if your internet connection was as lame as mine. This is local internet, for local people ;) Besides, I’m a stickler for originals - just trying to upgrade my tape collection to CD.

I approve of all things Pegg-like but Spaced is the best. I love that every time I watch it (which is a lot, I admit) I spot a new joke that I missed the last time. Keeps it fresh.

Tom Waits!

“I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy”

Heh heh. Remember in school when you had to write down the “difficult” words in the back of your book? I think I should still do that.

The butterfly thing is from Spaced, pleeeeease tell me you watch Spaced?

Incidently, I am in a foul mood with NIN as there was not a copy of Pretty Hate Machine in all of Leeds today. Hmph.

Re: Getting into it. in General Therapy? Topics

lolol, well done :) Definitely one of the finest programs ever written. We should have a “see how much custard you can hold in your underpants” competition on the board.

Have a look at http://www.richie-and-eddie.co.uk The site’s down for maintanance (<after several attempts, I have given up trying to spell that right!) at the moment but there’s an excellent trailer for it to download and it should be up and running again soon.

Bonus points for knowing what program the butterfly thing is from ;)

Re: Getting into it. in General Therapy? Topics

I first heard them in February 1994. A couple of friends had heard a single on the radio and found out they were playing a gig that week. I had a spare £8 and trusted their judgement so I went along with them. We were on the front row and it was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. I announced then and there that they were my favourite band and they have been ever since.

Re: university lifestile in Chit-Chat

I absolutely loved uni too. The student union bar was momentously cheap and I met loads of fantastic friends.

However, despite completing the first semester successfully (1:1, 1:2, 2:2 for my 3 modules) I found the lifestyle too difficult to adapt to and ended up speniding far too much time in said union bar.

Thus, 3 years after leaving I am still paying off £3500 worth of student debts. So, enjoy yourself by all means but make sure you do it on a strict budget!

Re: Soundtrack To Your Funeral in Other Bands & Artists

I would have You Will Be Waiting by Barenaked Ladies and something by Therapy? but I can’t decide which track. Perhaps Bowels of Love, just so everyone at the funeral would be forced to listen to it. That would be my final joke upon the world, mwohahahahahaha…

Re: The first record you’ve bought in Other Bands & Artists

mfgeorge

There is nothing wrong with liking Men Without Hats (in the privacy of your own home, of course) - I used to have the 7” of Safety Dance when I was little, it was my favourite song for years, lol

Re: Share your hangover with us topic! in Chit-Chat

The worst hangovers are the ones where you can’t actually remember the night before. This has happened to me three times and my friends think it’s hilarious to make stuff up about what I did. At least I pray they’re making it up. This always seems to involve vodka (or that dodgy supermarket own brand stuff that they put next to the vodka but actually remains nameless. Skint stoodents know what I’m talking about.

My most recent icky hangover was after drinking two bottles of red wine and too much Archers. I woke up and could smell puke but couldn’t find where I’d done the deed until I looked into the bathroom mirror and saw that all of my hair and one side of my face was purple. Gross.

Worst Therapy? Songs in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Worst Therapy? Songs

Following on from Tubbs’ thread, what Therapy? songs could you quite happily live without?

I think I’d be happy if they’d never covered CC Rider and I’ll never know what possessed them to record Bowels of Love - though both of these songs really make me laugh so it’s not all bad ;)

Re: what is the perfect Therapy? song? in General Therapy? Topics

I think Safe is probably my favourite but it’s hard because different songs are favouriters for different reasons, like Nowhere because it’s the first Therapy? song I heard, Misery because I remember being on the tour when Infernal Love came out and having that song stuck in my head. There are many special ones.

Re: help me work stuff in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Hi BritneyBaby

Okay, being a girlie girl myself I shall try and help. There is a link to your “control panel” at the top of the page, in there you will see options to add to your buddy / ignore list. I haven’t actually used the buddy option so i don’t know what it does, but it’s there if you want to find out :)

To subscribe to a thread, click on the link at the bottom of the thread. You will then be emailed when there is a new post to read.

When you post a reply you can click on the option to have a smiley at the top of your post. If you want one in the middle then just type it in (e.g. : ) but with no spaces) and the board will convert it for you.

I think that was everything ;)

Re: what other bands/music do you listen to? in Other Bands & Artists

It’s good to see that most people like a wide variety of stuff. Too often you get people who insist on listening to only one “type” of music and get aggro if you should dare to play something a bit different. Other than Therapy? for myself (and yes, I cry if my albums aren’t alphabetical - just call me Monica) :

Barenaked Ladies, Beekeepers, Coal Chamber, Death In Vegas, Dusty Springfield, Farside, Fugazi, Halo Benders, Langhorns, Schtum.

I’m going to stop at 10 or I’ll be here all night ;)

The track was Accelerator but I’ve only seen the film a couple of times and I can’t remember which bit it’s actually in.

Leeds Cockpit 11/12/99 Review in Therapy? Live

Title: Leeds Cockpit 11/12/99 Review

Does anyone have a copy of the Kerrang! (UK) with a review of this gig in it? I KNOW I had it and now I can’t find it anywhere. Very important to me as I was quoted in the article :(

Re: evil in Chit-Chat

“The NRA say ‘Guns don’t kill people, people kill people’ but I think the gun helps…” Eddie Izzard

I don’t know much about what happened in Erfurt but to blame the media / entertainment industry for any murder is ridiculous. If you kill someone (or yourself) then you are wholly responsible for that action. Using music as a scapegoat for your behaviour is outrageous.

Theyr tried to blame Jamie Bulger’s murder on Childsplay 3. I think you’ve got to be seriously sick in the head to do what was done to him and watching a film isn’t going to make much of a difference to you in the psycho stakes.

Re: The first record you’ve bought in Other Bands & Artists

The first records bought for me were Extreme Three Sides To Every Story and Bryan Adams Waking Up The Neighbours.

I’m proud to say the first album bought with my own (pocket) money was Troublegum when I was 13 :)

Re: What kind of work do you do, or study? in Chit-Chat

Title: Yey the Cockpit!

And I approve of calling it the Cockpit, even though they’ve changed it to Rocket, pah!

I saw Therapy? there a couple of years ago, great to see them in a small venue. Have you been to Garage (Saturday nightclub) there? It’s cool :)

Wow, a lot of stoodents.

I studied Sociology for a short while. Barbie, you should definitely look into going to Leeds Met, I’m from there and it is a fine city.

I’m now a full time mum, much more fun ;)

Title: Whichwhatwhenwhyeee?

Which Road Rash game?!

I have RR3D (on ps1) and there’s none on there. I do have the soundtrack to RR Jailbreak but I’ve never actually bothered to listen to it and it doesn’t have a tracklisting.
