Re: rip offs in General Therapy? Topics

Compare ‘I won’t hold you back’ by Toto to ‘Another Chance’ by Roger Sanchez. Very good.
cheers.

Re: Song with the best lyrics in General Therapy? Topics

Nice guys mentioned Misery, and I actually really agree with him. One of the best T? lyrics around. ‘You’ve always left me wanting, and now I want you to leave’ for instance.

Re: I got my T? ticket in General Therapy? Topics

They had ‘Therapy?’ in the Marshall font on the amp, just like Micheal said back in ‘94.

Re: the sad truth in General Therapy? Topics

Right, I didn’t read all the thread through, ‘cause it usually gets boring after 10 posts or so, ppl start posting one line, and the discussion dies really. Anyway here is reaction.
First of all I think it is disrespectfull that T? has gone downhill since fyfe left. That’s just shite. I mean c’mon stop drowning in your past… Graham is great drummer and he can play Teethgrinder just as well. Laying the connection between the fact that fyfe left and the quality of the albums going downhill, has more sayings about the person who has this opinion than about the band. Didn’t they make SPYF to scare the ppl away who wanted to have like a million new troublegums. This band grew up, and some fans stayed behind, hanging on to the past.
Personally I think Infernal Love, Semi-Detached and SPYF are really great albums. It is a wide range of styles T? covers with their albums, but they all have something of the same.
Besides I think it is kind of an angry, disrespectfull reaction to say that Shameless is shite, just because you expected another Troublegum. Tell me, didn’t you? Therapy? is the one band in the industry that had the guts to go the other way where they could have made it big time by answering the expectations of the Troublegum fans. By doing that, they made it big time with me. I respect them more than any other band I know. They’re not Elvis, but they’re allright, as simple as that. Love and RESPECT to Therapy?

By the way, this is in reply to the one that started this topic. Innocentx if I remember well. (Memory of a goldfish sometimes).
seeya.

Re: whats T? song has best guitar sound or drum sound? in General Therapy? Topics

And Suing God sounds really really great…the thing on Andy’s vocal in the second verse and in the chorus. I think it’s a harmonizer that adds a second vocal part pitched up a few notes. (because it sounds to be in exact sync with the original vocal line).

Re: whats T? song has best guitar sound or drum sound? in General Therapy? Topics

I just love all the noisyness on Semi-Detached…
The rest of the albums sound great too, but I think Nurse sounds a bit weird. I especially like Born In A Crash. I think Shameless sounds a bit too polished..

Re: New Single What Next??? in General Therapy? Topics

Are they gonna put out a second single???
From what I’ve heard about the promotion activities *ahum* it sounds like the Afroman works at Ark21 as promoter…

Re: Which is you favourite b-side? in General Therapy? Topics

What if no one meets me on the other side?

Suing God.

I really like the style of a fast riff and a slow vocal line.

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics

That’s why this is an impossible discussion.. If the definition of ‘good’ differs from person to person, then ‘best’ will also differ from person to person.

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics

I think someone should set standards or give a definition of what he or she thinks is ‘good’ before asking a question like ‘who is the best doing this or that’

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics

Re: Why is Therapy? important for you? in General Therapy? Topics

First of all the music. But I respect them a LOT for not losing themselves in all the rockstar bullshit. They did what they wanted, and they stayed normal. Hail Hail. This is why I still like them as a band, apart from the music. Good people.

And about the cats: I don’t hate ‘em, but I just don’t like ‘em, they make me sneeze. And I love dogs.

Semi-Detached poster in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Semi-Detached poster

Hi,
I just wanted to be an asshole and tell all of you I got a Semi-Detached promo poster from a cd-store in Amsterdam (kinkerstraat). I think it has been on the wall there since Semi-Detached came out. Everytime I travel to work on the tramline I pass the store and I see it hanging there. Today I went in, and asked if I could have it. And yep…here it is :)
So I love all of you…
cheers..

Re: Shameless has arrived! in General Therapy? Topics

I went and got it today too. I got it at Boudisque in Amsterdam and they have I Am The Money in their system as well, but it was sold out today. They said it would come in again soon. The guy in the store was talking about 2 different versions…
I like the album. It’s pretty easy to listen to, if you compare it to other T? albums. My only complaint right now is that I maybe expected some more noise on it. (Semi-Detached-like-noise) It sounds a bit too sweet (less raw then the other albums) in my humble opinion. It’s the kind of album I’d listen to and wave my hands in the air like I jus’ don’t care…and there’s nothing wrong that.
I’m not saying the ablum is no good, ‘cause I fuckin’ like it! Especially Dance, and Wicked Man.
Yeah baby.
Cheers.
