Re: Therapy? @ HMV forum 19th november 2010 in Therapy? Live

Got my tickets the other week -also managed to persuade a mate to come as well, we’re all really looking forward to it.

Any word on the special guests?

Re: Stone Temple Pilots in Other Bands & Artists

I’d only just read that on BM - it reminds me of story from when around the time STP got back together. He started rambling at a gig, after being late on stage, and the band just started to play while he spewed random wreck head crap. I wonder what the back stage talk is like “Hey Scott next time you’ll wish you had fallen off stage”

Thing is, would his music have been so good without the wehat ever magic power he’s on?

Re: HELMET - new album in Other Bands & Artists

Cool - thanks for that, I wasn’t sure whther to pick it up or not. I think I’ve listened to Monochrome 3 or 4 times asnd took it out of my play list. I’ll get a copy this weekend after payday.

I didn’t know they were playing Manchester - I’d only seen a gig in London listed

Re: Stone Temple Pilots in Other Bands & Artists

I’m suprised he remembers what the bloody question was - he’s just rambling.

Does the time in the brackets indicate the stage time or doors open time? Just seems really early if it’s the onstage time…

That has to be door times surely?

Anyway tickets booked for me and the misses - really looking forward to this! Trying to get my mate and his wife to commit and he’s along time T? fan as well but doesn’t really do gigs these days

Re: Oh dear, how to lose / not gain fans in General Therapy? Topics

My mate text me from Sonisphere to say Therapy? had attempted to play Knives twice and the power had gone both times.

Re: Inception ( the movie ) in Chit-Chat

Yeah one of the best films, with a totally origonal plot. that I’ve seen for ages.

I’m positive it’s the kind of film you can watch a few times and still pick new things up from it.

I wonder if they’ll make it to the UK this time around - I’m sure they haven’t been here since 2004

Don’t kid yourselves, it’s the fans who bought it first time around that get fleeced by this kind of thing. I mean, that buy this kind of thing.

Nothing against extra tracks, remixes etc but reissues this soon after a release are a bit insulting, in my opinion. Might as well sign to Roadrunner if you’re into that kind of thing.

Couldn’t agree more - I have always purchased everything to support the band but I won’t be on this occasion

Re: Anyone techy out there? in Chit-Chat

I’ve juse re-read your origonal post - then saw the post underneath.

Do you know how to remove the battery, memory and Hard Disk drive? I would remove all of those things, with the PSU attached try and turn it on and see if the behaviour differs at all (system beeps etc.).

Who is the machine by?

Re: Anyone techy out there? in Chit-Chat

First and foremost - get your laptop away from the pikey monkeys at PC world, they haven’t got a fecking cluck what they’re talking about.

Your Virus, if it has been diagnosed correct;y will be hiding in the boot sector of the HDD meaning even if you formatted the disk and re-installed Windows (or UNIX?) the virus may still be able to get into the memory and cuase curruption again.

Do you know how to make a bootable CD? You could use something like BartPE etc. which will boot a slimmed down Windows desktop from CD & then you need to run something like McAfee’s Stinger to Nuke the virus. Once the CD boots you can run the McAfee stinger to detect and nuke the virus.

http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Windows/Create_a_Windows_Boot_CD … ue_CD.html

You can download the BartPE from:

& McAfee’s Stinger (Antivirus):

http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stinger1001870.exe

I realise this all may seem daunting but take you time and if you have questions ask - certainly don’t go back to PC world to be bent over the counter and…

Re: Avatar in Chit-Chat

I had absolutely no interest in seeing this film what so ever having seen numerous trailers, but a friend dragged me along to the iMax in Cardiff on Saturday where we saw it in 3D - I was completely blown away to be honest.

The story/plot is pretty wank, and it’s your usual ‘good versus bad’ underlying plot with the typical love story element. I’d say a 9 year old would love it, although be warned it’s 163mins run time so hopefully your 9 year (son/daughter) would be mesmerised by the special effects and the stunning landscapes.

If you can, go and see it in 3D - as I say I was completely blown away by the visual effects and the fact the 3D really worked very well.

Re: Soundgarden Reunite in Other Bands & Artists

Does he say no to the reunion or to them appearing at the Coachella festival in April though? I think if it wasn’t true someone would have come forward with a statement to say otherwise by now surely??

I’ve had Superunknown on in my car since I heard about this the other day, love that album

Andy, why is your guitar sound becoming so thin (crap?) when playing live. I mean, when you heard the killer distortion sound you had with teethgrinder back in 94/95, now hearing the intro played with a slight overdrive really kills all my pogo’in potential !

x 2

the one thing that ruins OCFA in my opinion is the terrible distortion sound

Re: PC Question in Chit-Chat

Have you tried power cycling the router? Do you have a filter attached to all the telephones in your property? Have you tried attaching the router to another telephone socket if there is one?

I very much doubt you’ll see anything noticeably wrong by connecting to the router itself, sounds like a synchronisation issue - if you reboot the router you’ll force a re-sync between the router and the exchange. ADSL suffers badly from a bottle neck with bandwidth at the exchange, I notice my broadband gets a lot slower around half term school holidays as all those lazy bastard kids are on xbox live sucking bandwidth.

The cabling to your property from the exchange will have a big factor on bandwidth as well, but as you’ve said it’s been getting slower so I’d start by checking the things I mentioned above.

What kind of bandwidth are you getting?

And also, Andy has said several times that he’s proud of Suicide Pact - You First, and that it’s one of the best things they have ever done.
Then why is it that the complete album is being ignored live (apart from “Sister” in 2006)?

I think this is such a valid point - it’s only the die hard fans that are left now in reality without media support and I know I’m not alone in saying I’d like to hear far more off of every album (yes, even shameless).

I’d also like more info about whats planned for the big 20th birthday bash

Re: Green Day in Other Bands & Artists

I haven’t heard it yet but as my misses is still a fairly big fan I was thinking about getting it for her - If it’s anything like the last album though, all the songs will get played to death and I’ll never want to hear it again. I loved Dookie when I was 15, but when tracks from it come up on my iPod now I just skip them now, it’s the same with their other albums as well.

I don’t know what it is about Green Day, they get older, but they’re fans don’t seem to.

Dammit Gav I just logged on to post a link to that

Agreed - they’re all brilliant musicians in my opinion, Cass, Ace, Skin & Mark (who now for some reason decides to play with Feeder) and I don’t know where you get this idea of ‘average’ from

Re: t? tour 2009 in Therapy? Live

I’ve just watched the Kerrang podcats with Andy, Michael & Neil. Andy mentioned that they were getting festival offers, around 1 a week, and to check the tour page on the website for updates - yet the tour page doesn’t seem to have been updated for ages.

Anyone any idea what other festivals they’re playing - they mentioned Oxegen, Download and said they’d been offered another big UK festival but it was being finalised…

Agreed - I went to Download the year T? last played and headlined the snickers or napster stage on the Sunday night and have to say I wasn’t impressed with the festival at all.

Yeah I’ll second Orange. They also offer the best insurance of all mobiles - it’s called Orange Care. Usually if you break your phone, and you have insurance, you have to send your phone off to be repaired but Orange care provides you with a new phone the next working day.

I have their combined Mobile & Broadband package - I get good download speeds at home
