Happy midsummer fest from me too to all ya ‘alls that are fortunate enough to be accustomed with this spastic fest of bonfires and binge drinking! If you haven’t accidentally burned your hand in a midsummer fest bonfire, you haven’t lived! ;) Traditional Finnish festivities - you gotta love them.

Re: Finland at the Eurovision… in Chit-Chat
Unbelievable. I can’t believe Finland actually won. And with Lordi. You’ll have to understand that ‘twelve points’ are not the words that are usually associated with the Finnish entry at the Eurovision. Apparently someone won nearly 300 000 by betting on Lordi to win. But who would have thought, eh? I think it’s absolutely hilarious, in the best possible way, of course :D
And the city of Rovaniemi (where Tomi Putaansuu is from) is apparently going to name a square or a street after Lordi (or after Tomi Putaansuu, I think they’re undecided yet). And they’re giving him some land or somesuch as well as a reward for a job well done. These are the rumours anyway. And there’s going to be a welcome home ceremony in Helsinki’s Market Square later this week. Insanity. Brilliant! :D
Here’s what the Finnish press says. Go to http://www.hs.fi/ and click on IN ENGLISH and then on ‘Lordi and Hard Rock Hallelujah bring it home after more than 40 years’ The link didn’t work, so let’s try it this way :)
And here’s what Lordi says.

I had about 10 hours of sleep last night, so it can’t be the insomnia. It’s annoying as hell tho. I was supposed to do some work today as well.

Hardly. Unless your definition includes scratching eyes out after getting super annoyed by Ben Stiller AND Jenna Elfman.

There are some films that even Edward Norton can’t save. Like Keeping the Faith. I’m looking forward to seeing Motherless Brooklyn, sounds interesting…

Settle down people! Clearly I’ve been horribly misunderstood. I was just thinking that there may have been various other threads where liaisons may have or may not have been formed (I admit nothing).
No need to focus on just one thread, eh?

Kitkats are a potential mindfuck.
Well…
The traditional bar has four fingers which each measure approximately 1cm by 12 cm. Kit Kat Chunky has one large finger approximately 2.5 cm wide. Kit Kat bars contain varying numbers of fingers depending on the market, ranging from the half-finger sized Kit Kat Petit in Japan to the three-fingered variants in Arabia to the twelve-finger Kit Kat Tablet bars in France.
But why are they called fingers? That’s just sick.

Re: The Smashing Pumpkins - ARE BACK in Other Bands & Artists
I can’t understand why Melissa Auf der Maur is so keen on jumping on board with the Pumpkins again. Her solo stuff is brilliant and there’s supposedly a new solo album on the way? There’s some ok Smashing Pumpkins stuff that I like but they have nothing on Auf der Maur’s solo tracks like ‘Skin Receiver’. Why would she go back to Pumpkins? I don’t understand…

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics
Just got my copy - even got the record store guy to open early for me :D
I’ve listened to it through once. Early favourites are Lose It All and Our White Noise (which is absolutely brilliant). It’s true what people have been saying about the production. But then again, I prefer grotty sounds in general anyway, like on Shameless and even more so on SPYF. But overall, I like it very much and will get back to listening to it. RIGHT NOW. And of course I hope the best of luck to the guys as always.
