Re: Worst cover version in Other Bands & Artists
Paradise Lost’s cover of the Sisters’ classic ‘Walk Away’ is simply…horrible.

Re: Kasabian in Other Bands & Artists
Great album - distinctly baggytastic, with elements of the Primals, BRMC, and TCTC…recommended.

Cool, I shall definitely get it next week.

Bauhaus are great (you have to love ‘em when you love David Bowie). I’d also label them New Wave ‘coz they were too early to be called Goths.
Fuck off! All you foreigners coming on here trying to re-label our goth bands! ;)

Nah. I’m feeling way too sorry for myself to summon the energy to do such a thing… :p

I think I should be immediately transported to your weird planet (on a gravestone shaped rocket), so I can give you all an education in all things goth ;)

@ ctrl: Yep, I shall be putting a satanic curse on you very shortly ;)
@ 3ddo: Bauhaus not a goth band?! Which planet do you come from?!

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
Most goths over the age of sixteen don’t go around feeling sorry for themselves or being really miserable all the time. A lot of goth bands often have their tongues firmly in cheek - the Sisters and Bauhaus especially.

Still listening to the latest Ministry album - pure fucking class.

Dame Judi Dench is shit-hot on those drums.

Re: New The Cure in Other Bands & Artists
I haven’t got a problem with their music being used in adverts. It’s not like Robert Smith ever went around claiming The Cure was an anti-capitalist punk band or something.

Re: New Paradise Lost album on the way!!!! in Other Bands & Artists
No, nor do I, really. Wishful thinking really - Icon is my all-time favourite heavy metal album.

I hope by “heavy” they mean a return to Icon-style heavy…

Yeah, a good Roses/Mondays vibe to it. Unsurprisingly, Kasabian also take copious amounts of recreational drugs :)

I like their single, it’s got a good Madchester vibe to it. I’ll get their album, out next month. Anyone else?

Re: Senser in Other Bands & Artists
Random Senser-related fact: I remember Jules Hodgson (who was in Lodestar with Senser’s singer and is now in KMFDM) when he used to busk with his electric guitar in Leeds city centre, about twelve years ago! :)

Re: Ministry - House Of The Mole in Other Bands & Artists
Went out and bought it, pretty darn good. “No W” is class, with the sample from the music off the old Old Spice aftershave adverts!

I wouldn’t go saying things like that near the Scissor Sisters, you’d be asking for trouble ;)

Cool, glad to hear the absence of Mr Barker and Mr Brownstone didn’t affect the recording process :)

Re: Ministry - House Of The Mole in Other Bands & Artists
I’ll drag this one back from the depths…to get some more confirmation that their new album’s pretty good?
I’ve just been listening to my old Ministry CDs, dunno why they’d been in a box in my cupboard for so long, to be honest. Land of Rape and Honey is class, way ahead of its time…

Re: Top Ten Rock Albums. in Other Bands & Artists
Come on people, let’s not allow the US to dominate this top ten!
Iron Maiden’s debut has got to be in there somewhere! Led Zep too.

I’d go so far as to say he’s downright cheerful. The c#nt. :p

He’s a good drummer and all, but he doesn’t really fit into the NIN vibe, does he?

Re: The Almighty in Other Bands & Artists
I dunno if Rick’s still married to Vanessa. I do know, however, that I used to think she was something of a rock fox.
A quick search of the net informed me that Rick’s now a solo artist, and big chums with Joe “Def Leppard” Elliot - who produces his records.
Which was enough to make me chuck my copy of Powertrippin’ back in the cupboard from whence it came.

I’ve just discovered the Almighty were still going until quite recently, and Ricky Warwick is Irish, before anyone corrects me ;)

Anyone else remember these hairy Scottish motherfuckers, from the early 90s?
Just dug out “Powertrippin’”, and it’s pretty class, actually.
