Re: dog man star - suede in Other Bands & Artists

Suede’s best IMO, I like it a lot.

I’m sick of them now, though.

Re: Muse in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Muse’s “Absolution” (second merged thread)

Bugger me with a fishfork if this album doesn’t rock big-style.

It’s totally and amusingly over-the-top, but the best thing I’ve heard in a long while. Anyone else?

Re: The Cooper Temple Clause in Other Bands & Artists

I like it. I was worried they were gonna make a play for the teenage-girly market (who seem to constitute a large percentage of their fanbase, dunno why!), but they didn’t.

However, their album doesn’t rock as much as… <see other poll>

Oh,man that’t bad news indeed…:( Feck…Anyway,I hope you had a great time.

Yeah, sorry man :(

However, I shall be back when I’ve a bit more money.

And now - back to England on Sunday, in plenty of time for the T? tour :)

Re: Greeting in New Members (Introduce Yourself)

Yo everyone,

and I’m afraid I’m not gonna be able to meet up with you Andy (and Tatty) :( I passed briefly through Budapest and Vienna but money was running out and prices had gone up since my last visit, and so I headed straight to Slovakia where a beer cost twenty pence or something ridiculous like that ;) Never mind, a meet-up will happen in future, and should you ever visit England you’d be welcome to stay at mine.

I’ve had a whale of a time travelling around the region(I’m now back in Prague for a few days), but have nearly run out of money and am missing home, so might be back very soon!

To be truthful I was largely making that up for comedic purposes. What I don’t know about vampire films ain’t worth knowing though… :p

Re: mansun (NOT marilyn manson) in Other Bands & Artists

Your first different opinion coming up mate… ;)

I think it’s complete shite to be honest, I can’t hardly listen to it. Although having Tom Baker on it is mildly amusing.

‘Attack Of The Gray Lantern’, on the other hand, I think is ace.

‘Little Kix’ was so-so, bit too ballady and slushy for me. I saw ‘em live on the Little Kix tour, they were alright but I can’t say I shed a tear when they split.

Mr R Williams (not Robin) in Chit-Chat

Title: Mr R Williams (not Robin)

I’ve got Robbie Williams live at Knebworth on TV, somebody shoot me!

Apparently he got some girl from the audience onstage and then had to literally struggle away from her because she started groping his tackle and trying to snog him :p

Re: John Leslie Sex Charges Dropped in Chit-Chat

From the John Leslie case to Red Dwarf in 7 posts :)

Back on topic, I think it’s disgraceful what happened to JL, and he deserves to sue the asses off every guilty party. The man nearly topped himself for Christ’s sake…

Are you going up to Leeds before you set off? I’ll be there for a week as of tomorrow so give me a call if you are.

‘Fraid not. Got to keep my head together for the days before the trip ;)

Say hi to Will and the other feller (whose name has escaped me again) from me.

BTW, my MSN keeps telling me my password is wrong, when I know for a fact it isn’t, otherwise I’d be chatting to ya ;)

@ badkarma - it was fucked. I can’t be more specific I’m afraid as I have a greater knowledge of Hammer Horror films (1968-69) than I do of computers.

The Velvet Underground in Other Bands & Artists

Title: The Velvet Underground

Anyone else for them? I love their first album, especially the songs with Nico. The way she says “clown” on “Femme Fatale”… :p

Greetings again in Chit-Chat

Title: Greetings again

Greetings again. Computer fixed, four days before I head off to Eastern Europe, which is kind of stupid of me.

I need to leave quickly anyway. I went out on a works leaving do and ended up so drunk I couldn’t make my door key work, and had to wake my slumbering and rather annoyed housemates at 4 am, reeking of booze and the kebab I’d just eaten whilst sat on a step.

Hah hah, that was one quality party! I really scared Hooch’s mate by peristently trying to pull her, it was most amusing :p Unfortunately she was happily coupled. Still didn’t stopme trying though :p

Cheers Hooch, I shall catch ya later ;)

@ Bad Karma - used to be, not really anymore to be honest. I’ll change my name back to my actual name (Sam) soon, not very rock ‘n’ roll but what the hell :)

Title: Greetings

Guess where I am? I’m at our esteemed moderator Hooch’s house, and I’m quite merry… :)

Anyway, my computer at home is fucked, hence my disappearance.

This is a big shout out to Tatty Seaside Town, Up In Flames, and Andyslacker - I shall see you all soon!

Hint: There’s a huge festival here between 30th July and 6th August.Just letting you know, because it’s usually a good opportunity to see LOADS of girls,LOADS of bands,LOADS of relatively cheap beer (not exactly the best quality but what the hell it’s a festival :o))

Damn…gonna miss it. But we’ll find some other stuff to do when I’m there… :D

Re: Glastonbury in Other Bands & Artists

What odds would you give on BBC2 showing any Holy Bible-era stuff :p

As for Jo Whiley, yeah she’s irritating. Poor old John Peel is having an awful festival. Apprently on Friday some members of “The Archers” nearly started a fight with him (seriously!), then on Saturday he fell in a urine-filled ditch, and cut his leg. Cue hasty trip to the nurse for a jab…

Duran Duran in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Duran Duran

I bought their greatest hits yesterday, heh heh.

Fuck it, it was seven quid, it had a picture of them on a yacht on the front, and they produced the last Dandy Warhols album.

Now I’m hungry, like the wolf. Time for a bit o’ supper.

Re: Names of Therapy? albums abused by others! in Chit-Chat

I was wondering, is it gramatically correct to use one or two question marks when asking a question which ends with the word Therapy?(?)

Yes, this is the kind of thing I think about, for I am stickler for that kind of thing. ;)

Re: Glastonbury in Other Bands & Artists

Radiohead were amazing, Flaming Lips I thought were pretty good.

Primal Scream (actually one of my favourite bands) I thought were shite - Bobby Gillespie consistently sang in the wrong key and as for Mani - what the hell was he up to, flicking V’s and waggling his tongue everywhere?

The bands I would have watched - Cooper Temple Clause, The Kills, Interpol, Death In Vegas - weren’t deemed worthy of coverage. Instead we got John Peel talking about how he fell in a ditch.
