Re: NANE: What’s With The Animal References?? in General Therapy? Topics
Hmm, I hadn’t noticed it either but now that you mention it, it’s pretty clear. It’s not just Animal Bones anymore now is it?

Quote (author unknown):
Personally I’d love to hear Bruce sing the Clansman
They played the song when they were in Finland on “Give Me Ed… Till I’m Dead” tour and Bruce sounded amazing.
Back to the topic, I have no reason to suspect Martin not telling the truth. It can get personal when people leave a band but I’m not sure if that’s the case here. Anyway, best of luck to Mr. McCarrick.

Re: New Song Titles in General Therapy? Topics
If the songs are half as good as some song titles mentioned here (my favourite is of course the tongue-in-cheek satanism of Hey Satan, You Rock) they’re pretty damn good.

Re: all the covers that therapy have performed listed in General Therapy? Topics
Interesting. According to this, Therapy? has played a cover version of “Sick of You” by Iggy Pop, who has covered “Sick of You” by Therapy?. And hey, there’s no “You Give Love a Bad Name”, a part of which was not played but sung at Tavastia in ‘99, though it was just the chorus.

Re: Therapy? Fan Club in General Therapy? Topics
It was fun while it lasted. I joined in ‘97 and then in ‘98 it was all over. Lucky me, eh? I got the watch but then broke it :( but the CD bag is still in good shape.

Re: worst t? lyric in General Therapy? Topics
I recommend playing “Body Bag Girl” after Gary Glitter’s “Rock And Roll Part 2” (or Part 1, depending on your taste). I kind of like it.
I think the worst lyrics are in “Dance” since I think the words just sound bad, like they don’t connect or something artistic like that.

Re: Article in Cult-magazine in General Therapy? Topics
Oh shite, I just noticed that this is the 666th thread in the General T?opics. Now is the time to play Pitchshifter’s “Diable (Therapy? remix)”. Repeat after me: Hail Satan!. Of course, the good ol’ Iron Maiden with “The Number of the Beast” will do as well. Hell and fire was spawned to be released.

Re: Article in Cult-magazine in General Therapy? Topics
Yeah, it was alright. Nothing new but nothing too bad as well. No idea why it was published so late though.
Anyway, as I recall Therapy? was mentioned right after the Tavastia show on the same magazine, in the gossip column. That’s right, gossip. This might be an indication of Therapy?’s popularity in Finland. That story was something about them drinking in the feer from Stockholm to Helsinki (or was it vice versa).

Re: Another covers question in General Therapy? Topics
Hmm. Tough question. I’d vote another Joy Division song, Dead Souls, though NIN did that already. One choice could be Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles, turned into a real tragedy.

Re: T?’s Cover Versions in General Therapy? Topics
Zen Arcade is excellent. I don’t think I get most of it but that hasn’t stopped me before. All I know is that I know what to do when pink turns to blue.
Anyway, my favourite cover is Isolation too. The original is great but I like Therapy?’s version even better. The worst I’ve heard so far is With Or Without You.

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics
I see a lot of people who are in a band writing for this topic :)
I too have never had much respect for musicianship. I’ve always thought that drummers are never musicians, they’re just the smelly guys that follow them around. Or maybe it’s just me.
The bands that consist of school mates and play together for decades are usually the best ones. One could say that they grow together with their music and there’s that unity thingy too. Some of the band members turn out to be great musicians, some don’t. Well, who cares if the music rocks, right?

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics
Hello to you too. Cheers and welcome.
Anyway, my story is a quite similar to yours since I started playing drums mainly because of Mr. Ewing (and the fact that I suck at playing guitar) and have done so for about more or less seven years. I don’t know anything about drummers being technical or not so I won’t go into that. I just think that they (Mr. Hopkins and Mr. Ewing) both have their own style. Fyfe’s style is more economical, more precise and tighter, Graham is in my opinion a more of a groove-oriented drummer, his style is more loose which allows the songs breathe more. Graham is a rock ‘n roll drummer, Fyfe is a twisted disco drum machine.
I like it when a drummer has his/her own distinctive sound that fits the song. I guess my favourites are, in addition to Mr. Ewing and Mr. Hopkins, the all-powerful Charlie Watts and Grunge Drum God Matt Cameron. Matt Chamberlain is also great and so is the tour drummer of Khaled (I forgot the name, Khaled and his band were in Finland in 2000 (as far as I remember)).

Re: new album?? in General Therapy? Topics
I like Femtex. Especially the opening line. Has anyone made T-shirts with that slogan? :)
Anyway, I’d like to do some what if -speculation. What if Therapy?’s new drummer is completely different from Graham Hopkins and/or Fyfe Ewing? What if they decide to take their next influences from the Latin America? What if T? goes reggae? They haven’t ahd any soul/r’n’b/hip hop/jazz -influences that much, do they? What if now is the time?
(I just got back from a two week holiday, so my mind’s a bit off)

Re: Hey everyone the russian Therapy website has every t? mp3s in General Therapy? Topics
Nice idea. Thanks a lot the link. And yes, there are a load of good or at least interesting bands (Slayer! Manowar! Napalm Death!)
But my question is that do they make a profit out of it? I’ve heard of a number of services that sell MP3’s (though they’re mostly based on ordering one song at a time) but none of them work because they don’t get much cash out of it.
Still, I’ll have to take back my words for this a bit. Selling MP3’s might not be the stupidest idea ever. This kind of service could work if there wouldn’t be an AudioGalaxy or WinMX or Gnutella or whatever. $10 a month isn’t much if you like music and have bandwidth. This will of course never replace CD’s but could be a good alternative.

Rockin’ Out with The Man ;)
Hadn’t seen that one before. Well, at least I’d feel uncomfortable paying for MP3’s. If someone has heard of a service that sells them and makes a nice profit, tell me. Or don’t.

Re: Hey everyone the russian Therapy website has every t? mp3s in General Therapy? Topics
I guess it’s hard to say anything if you don’t know the situation there. Some people (again the company lawyers) think it’s fucked up. From the consumer’s point of view it’s the best thing since bread came sliced (I just remembered I forgot R.E.M. from the bands I listen to -post). I’ve never bought any pirate CD’s or programs from Russia (probably since I haven’t been there for a while), but I know it’s no wonder some people do. If someone has an answer to what should be done about this case, and not necessarily in Russia, the forum is open for suggestions.
I guess this thread is about how valuable your site is, since it looks good and seems to have a bunch of information (though in Russian but nevertheless).

Re: Hey everyone the russian Therapy website has every t? mp3s in General Therapy? Topics
That’s a good question. I guess the whole “let’s-not-care-about-copyrights” -thingy is a two-edged sword. I think it’s great to have a place where it’s all on display and free and whatever, but still, a lot of people, especially the record company lawyers, think you’re pissing in their punchbowl. The artists should be the ones to decide, but it’s not a perfect world, is it. I’m not sure what Russian legislation says about copyright infringments (kill me if I spelled that wrong) so I’ll shut up about the legal issues.
That “And one more thing…” -statement, it’s pure genius ;)

Re: what is the perfect Therapy? song? in General Therapy? Topics
I’ll have to go with Nowhere too. It’s sharp, simple, to the point, fast, aggressive and still complex and paranoid. And of course I love the lyrics.

Re: Worst Therapy? Songs in General Therapy? Topics
My least favourites are probably “The Boy’s Asleep” which is ok in some moods but doesn’t fit in the album, and their cover of U2’s “With Or Without You” which quite simply just doesn’t work. “Bowels of Love” is alright since it fits in the mood of the album though it doesn’t quite stand on its own.

Re: I wish Therapy? would release… in General Therapy? Topics
The Finnish invasion!
Hmm. You might be right about Universal being the target instead of Ark21. Still, since the So Much for the Ten Year Plan was out on Ark21 might be a good sign in its favour, if you know what I mean. That’s a copyright issue anyway. I hate it when it goes down to that.

Re: I wish Therapy? would release… in General Therapy? Topics
Hey, that might be an idea worth trying! Bombarding Ark21 with DVD-requests I mean. I would surely like to see/a good T? DVD (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it (I saw the Ford Fairlane movie just last week, sorry)). Even a collection of all the promo videos would be great since I haven’t seen most of them. MTV doesn’t play them.
I just remembered an interview from arounmd the time of Suicide Pact where Andy mentioned something about a film they shot at that time, aptly titled “The Speedo Menace”. Does anyone know about it?
