Re: Hey everyone the russian Therapy website has every t? mp3s in General Therapy? Topics
I guess it’s hard to say anything if you don’t know the situation there. Some people (again the company lawyers) think it’s fucked up. From the consumer’s point of view it’s the best thing since bread came sliced (I just remembered I forgot R.E.M. from the bands I listen to -post). I’ve never bought any pirate CD’s or programs from Russia (probably since I haven’t been there for a while), but I know it’s no wonder some people do. If someone has an answer to what should be done about this case, and not necessarily in Russia, the forum is open for suggestions.
I guess this thread is about how valuable your site is, since it looks good and seems to have a bunch of information (though in Russian but nevertheless).

Re: what other bands/music do you listen to? in Other Bands & Artists
Isn’t Rival Schools the one with CIV(ex?)-members? CIV rocks. ‘Schools sounds good anyway.
Anyway, my musical interests include of course Therapy?, The Rolling Stones (until early 70’s), The Doors, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band (or The Magic Band after “Trout Mask Replica”)(check T?’s “Totally Random Man” lyrics), Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Soundgarden, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Oasis, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Moby, Photek, The Chemical Brothers, Blur, Manic Street Preachers, Hole, Bangles, Red Aunts, Björk, Air, Massive Attack, Eminem, OutKast and a load of Finnish bands such as Apulanta and Don Johnson Big Band.
My recent discoveries are Mother Love Bone (hair metal with a twist)and Mike Ness (Social Distortion -frontman goes country).
Oh, and I guess I have to mention my secret perversion of collecting albums from young female vocalists, such as Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and bands like M2M, SOAP and Drömhus. Their older albums are amazingly cheap, most people would say for a reason. The gem of my collection is “Girl on the Run” by Victoria Silvstedt (if the name doesn’t ring a bell, check http://www.playboy.com/playmates/directory/199612.html) which probably has the most intelligent lyrics ever. Unintended humor at its best.

That’s a good question. I guess the whole “let’s-not-care-about-copyrights” -thingy is a two-edged sword. I think it’s great to have a place where it’s all on display and free and whatever, but still, a lot of people, especially the record company lawyers, think you’re pissing in their punchbowl. The artists should be the ones to decide, but it’s not a perfect world, is it. I’m not sure what Russian legislation says about copyright infringments (kill me if I spelled that wrong) so I’ll shut up about the legal issues.
That “And one more thing…” -statement, it’s pure genius ;)

Re: Share your hangover with us topic! in Chit-Chat
I guess I’ll have to share one of my experiences. I haven’t had a decent hangover in quite a while now (expect yesterday I had a splitting headache because of too many Vodka Russians and cigarettes). But nothing spectacular.
Anyway, this one thing happened almost two months ago. I participated a big student party in Jyväskylä (Finland) called Network. Thousands of people, ugly clothing, bad music. The best time ever. But since the fun part doesn’t make a funny story, let’s skip it and go straight to the agony. So the party lasted 3 days and I was still drunk on Sunday evening. I didn’t feel too sick and on Monday morning I thought the worst was over and went to work. Of course I was pale as ever and wasn’t in the greatest shape but never mind that. I got to work, and after two hours, it hit me. The cold sweat, the storm in my stomach and especially the bowel movement. I had already had two trips to the toilet at the office but thought it wasn’t anything special. But after that I felt I had to go home. The problem was that when your both ends are leaking, it’s hard to use public transportation. So I decided to walk home and use public restrooms. When you have an acute case of diarrhea from alcohol poisoning, there just aren’t enough toilets anywhere. On my way home I found one that I could use and still shit my pants four times. When I got home, my bathroom felt like Heaven on Earth. Of course the first thing I did was vomiting my guts off. That lasted for two days. Wednesday morning was the first time when I could drink water and not have to visit my bathroom.
I learned three things. The obvious one is that too much alcohol is, well, too much. The second thing is that if you buy cheap, rough toilet paper, you will eventually suffer. And finally, when you can’t hold anything inside, don’t drink anything red (like juice). It’s a disturbing sight, no matter which end it comes out of.

Re: Rock n Roll in Other Bands & Artists
Hey, what about Finland’s finest rock ‘n roll unit, The Flaming Sideburns?

Re: The Complete List in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
I guess people change and their musical and whatever taste changes, but you said it, you will regret. But anyway, the big question hasn’t been answered. Why, oh why are you selling those and why don’t I have any extra money?

Re: what is the perfect Therapy? song? in General Therapy? Topics
I’ll have to go with Nowhere too. It’s sharp, simple, to the point, fast, aggressive and still complex and paranoid. And of course I love the lyrics.

Re: Worst Therapy? Songs in General Therapy? Topics
My least favourites are probably “The Boy’s Asleep” which is ok in some moods but doesn’t fit in the album, and their cover of U2’s “With Or Without You” which quite simply just doesn’t work. “Bowels of Love” is alright since it fits in the mood of the album though it doesn’t quite stand on its own.

Re: I wish Therapy? would release… in General Therapy? Topics
The Finnish invasion!
Hmm. You might be right about Universal being the target instead of Ark21. Still, since the So Much for the Ten Year Plan was out on Ark21 might be a good sign in its favour, if you know what I mean. That’s a copyright issue anyway. I hate it when it goes down to that.

Re: I wish Therapy? would release… in General Therapy? Topics
Hey, that might be an idea worth trying! Bombarding Ark21 with DVD-requests I mean. I would surely like to see/a good T? DVD (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it (I saw the Ford Fairlane movie just last week, sorry)). Even a collection of all the promo videos would be great since I haven’t seen most of them. MTV doesn’t play them.
I just remembered an interview from arounmd the time of Suicide Pact where Andy mentioned something about a film they shot at that time, aptly titled “The Speedo Menace”. Does anyone know about it?

Yes, another new person in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Title: Yes, another new person
Hello to all the people here.
This is an effort to do a second post. I guess I should introduce myself. I’m a genuine, bonafied Finnish Therapy? fanatic. I first got introduced to Therapy? when Troublegum was released, first ever their record that I bought was Infernal Love, but the ultimate mindfuck (Can I say fuck here? Didn’t think so. Sorry.) was their Infernal Love -tour’s Tavastia concert. That’s exactly the time when rock’n roll got a hold on me and pretty much changed the way I think. That’s the real starting point of getting into music and drumming. I broke my glasses (hard to keep them on when you’re pogoing you know) and scored an all-time low on a Cooper test the next day but that was peanuts.
And now we’re here. Therapy? has been a source of innovation in many ways. I discovered music through them. And looking back, that’s just an incredibly huge factor in my present life.
What else? I play drums in an unknown band called Kindly Ink, I try to finish my IT-studies by next autumn and I work as an IT-person at the Helsinki office of an international human rights organization (guess which one :) ). I guess that’s enough for now. Cheers!

Re: Meat Abstract & Invisible Sun in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Yes, I know this is shameful advertising but it’s for the common good. I was just wondering about the price of the Invisible Sun -vinyl, there are a few stores that carry these. One example is Too North Records where I got that one and HAMFX (bootleg), they’re at http://www.toonorthrecords.com under 7”. But don’t just take my word for it.
(Kewl, this was my first ever post here. Hope I did alright.)
